Good day all. Since Immigration and Customs Enforcement began rounding up illegal aliens, the Democrats have been screaming at and threatening federal agents. In the Democrat controlled states, we’re seeing Attorneys General and local District Attorneys flat out threaten to arrest the agents for doing their job.
The local and state D.A.’s and A.G.’s have no authority to stop federal agents in the performance of their duties, however, that isn’t stopping some of them from making threats. I’ve already written about the Philadelphia District Attorney, Larry Krasner and his threats against federal agents. Now the DoJ is flat out telling these morons to knock it off or they will be the ones facing a jury. Here are the details from Fox News:
U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a formal letter to top California officials Thursday, warning them against any attempts to arrest or impede federal law enforcement officers enforcing immigration laws.
The list of people who received this “Target” letter are the same people who have been protecting illegal aliens, or in some cases, aiding and abetting their entry into the United States.
The letter, addressed to Gov. Gavin Newsom; state Attorney General Rob Bonta; Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; and San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, stressed that federal agents and officers are carrying out lawful duties, and any interference by state or local officials is both “illegal and futile.”
The letter was sent after Pelosi, the former House Speaker, and Rep. Kevin Mullin, D-Calif., issued a statement Wednesday threatening to arrest federal agents if they break California law.
San Fran Nan is out at the end of this session of congress. The antiquated drunken hag finally took the hint and “Retired.” However, she still thinks she has some power and in Kalifornistan, she probably will until she is rotting in a landfill somewhere.
“Reports of a planned mass immigration raid in the Bay Area are an appalling abuse of law enforcement power,” Pelosi and Mullin wrote in the statement. “While the President may enjoy absolute immunity courtesy of his rogue Supreme Court, those who operate under his orders do not. … The people of San Francisco will continue to stand with the patriotic immigrants who are the constant reinvigoration of America.”
These are not American citizens nor are they legal resident aliens. They are illegally in the United States. They are not loyal to the United States and do not accept the authority of the United States. What I do see here is that Mullin and Pelosi have admitted to what they are. Traitors who want to destroy this country.
Blanche shared his response in an X post, writing, “We just sent them a letter: Stand down or face prosecution. No one threatens our agents. No one will stop us from Making America Safe Again.”
The letter cites several federal statutes that criminalize assaulting, impeding or conspiring against federal officers, and notes the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution dictates state officials cannot prosecute federal agents for actions taken in the course of their duties.
The states are under no obligation to enforce federal laws. On the flip side, the States may not interfere with federal agents enforcing federal laws. Illegal Immigration is, of course, illegal. ICE’s job is to catch and remove illegal aliens from the United States. What’s so hard about this concept to understand?
Blanche directed California leaders to “preserve all written and electronic communications and records related to any attempts or efforts to impede or obstruct federal law enforcement officials,” forewarning that the Department of Justice will investigate and prosecute any official who violates federal statutes.
That sounds like that Blanche is not going to play games. An order to preserve records? That tells me that the DoJ may have some information that there was a conspiracy to obstruct federal agents and they want all evidence, both incriminating and exculpatory preserved for a potential grand jury.
“We urge you and other California officials to publicly abandon this apparent criminal conspiracy, to stop threatening law enforcement, and to prioritize the safety of your citizens,” Blanche wrote.
Yeah, I don’t think the Democrats have any intention of backing down. If anything, I fully expect them to ramp things up and try going after one or more federal agents. That is going to have a few repercussions. A big one is who the Democrats expect to actually arrest the federal agents? Local police? County Sheriff’s deputies? State police? I have no doubt that the rank and file officers will tell the various district attorneys and attorneys general to pound sand. They know that if it came down to it, they would lose and end up under arrest, or worse.
Of course, there are local police officials who would be all in on arresting federal agents for carrying out their lawful duties. Most of them are political appointees and want to keep their jobs so they will make all the appropriate noises. They might even have a small percentage of officers who would be dumb enough to go after federal agents. If that happened, with days you would see indictments and arrests of everyone at the state and local level who was part of this. I would recommend that these morons take Mr. Blanche’s advice and just knock it off.
