Good day all. Yes, that is another clickbait headline, but it also has a kernel of truth to it. The man now heading up the Russia hoax from President Trump’s first term has decided to not try this as a single conspiracy case.
Now there is a method to all this. It’s plain old logistics. Due to the number of potential defendants, putting them all in one courtroom would be extremely difficult. Also, the jury might not really understand all the evidence and who did what. So, the decision was made to break everything up into smaller cases. Here are the details from RealClear Investigations:
Although Donald Trump’s defenders describe the Russia hoax and other efforts to frame the president as a “grand conspiracy,” RealClearInvestigations has learned that the man now leading the probe of that scandal is pursuing multiple conspiracy prosecutions that are smaller and more manageable, according to several sources with direct knowledge of the probe.
Since taking over the Justice Department’s far-flung investigation in April, veteran prosecutor Joseph diGenova and his team quickly concluded that combining all of the alleged wrongdoing, which ranges from falsifying evidence and committing perjury to leaking classified information and obstructing justice, into one unified plot and trying them together as a single case would be unmanageable.
“You’d have 50 defendants in the courtroom,” said a well-placed source familiar with diGenova’s thinking.
Logistically, this makes sense. It also makes it easier to prove the various cases instead of trying to convince a jury of an all encompassing plot.
Before diGenova took over the investigation two months ago, its contours were ill-defined as it lurched ahead in fits and starts for more than a year. But according to the sources, diGenova is tackling the case with a new, disciplined focus and in so doing is giving it the direction it’s lacked.
I’m not surprised things were chaotic. I put that on Pam Bondi. While she was a loyal ally of President Trump and did do a lot to clean out the cesspool that is the DoJ, she really wasn’t all that great at getting indictments, let alone convictions of all the people that willfully used their positions to punish the political enemies of the Democrats and the Deep State. Her replacement, Todd Blanche looks to be a far better choice.
But this is a change in tactics, not the theory of the case. The sources say his operating assumption is that Trump’s enemies in the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, the Obama and Biden administration, some Democrats in Congress, and their like-minded accomplices across several government agencies – including the CIA and the FBI – joined in one continuous conspiracy over almost a decade to deny Trump his civil rights, derail his political campaigns, and undermine his presidency.
While we all know this is what happened, proving a conspiracy that vast is very difficult. Originally, you had investigators looking at individual parts of the conspiracy. This is where Mr. diDenova is looking at things differently. He is looking at the entire conspiracy in a more holistic manner.
A well-placed source said it is looking at events from June 2015 when Trump first came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower to announce his candidacy through the 2022 FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago after he left office.
When President Trump came down that escalator and announced his run, literally no one took him seriously, and that includes myself. I changed my mind when I listened to him as did millions of others. Towards the middle of the Primary season, The Obama regime realized that Donald Trump had a good shot at winning. It didn’t help matters that Felonia von Pantsuit, aka Hillary Clinton, was both a lousy campaigner and utterly corrupt.
They said two separate grand juries in South Florida are now collecting and hearing evidence in what could become a series of conspiracy cases brought against people who served in the highest reaches of government, including former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former FBI Director James?Comey.
Those three were definitely working together. All three lied to Congress and we know that Brennan and Clapper were pushing the whole Russia nonsense even after they were removed from their positions.
Since much of the government’s alleged corrupt anti-Trump activity took place in 2016, prosecuting the cases?as conspiracies is the only way to get around the five-year federal statute of limitations.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche?tapped?diGenova, a longtime denizen of Washington, D.C., who was a U.S. attorney during the Reagan administration, to helm the sprawling investigation into what Blanche views as a series of baseless and seditious prosecutions and impeachments of Trump. The acting attorney general has created a special position for diGenova with the title “counselor to the attorney general.”
I don’t’ see much that can be done regarding the to fraudulent impeachment attempts. Those are political matters and under the purview of Congress. All the rest? That is definitely in the DoJ’s wheelhouse. With luck, he will have enough to go after both Jack Smith and Merrick Garland. It’s one reason the whole investigation has moved out of Washington. The judicial branch is so corrupted, and the jury pool so biased, that it’s impossible to get a fair hearing on anything related to President Trump.
These well-placed sources also say that diGenova has cultivated several new witnesses, including whistleblowers from the intelligence community and the FBI, and that his team has also uncovered significant new evidence, including a massive FBI document spanning several hundred pages that reportedly exposes new malfeasance in the bureau’s probe of Trump’s alleged ties to Russia, codenamed Crossfire Hurricane, which was begun before the 2016 election.
One of the things that may save the Republic is the work of honest lawyers and federal agents. Documents that were meant to be destroyed showing the conspiracy to get President Trump and others were, instead, hidden away. When President Trump was reelected and Kash Patel confirmed as Director, all these documents and other evidence was found. This has lead even more people to come forward.
Led by former FBI chief Comey, Crossfire investigators targeted the 2016 Trump campaign for colluding with the Kremlin and illegally wiretapped at least one Trump adviser based on political opposition research from the Hillary Clinton campaign. After Trump won the election, the same now-debunked research, known as the Steele dossier, was used by Comey and then-CIA Director John Brennan in a U.S. intelligence report known as the “ICA” to recast his victory as the product of Kremlin espionage.
And we saw what happened. This tied up President Trump’s team for 2 years. When the then Attorney General, Jeff “Sleepy” Sessions could have stepped in and shut all this down, he decided taking a nap was more important.
While the legal?strategy may have changed, diGenova and his team are still following the same theory of the case and pursuing potential charges under the same conspiracy statutes, the sources say – namely Sections?371?and?242?of the U.S. criminal code.
They believe high-ranking officials in the Obama and Biden administrations, acting under color of law, unlawfully weaponized?the U.S. justice system and intelligence community against Trump and his advisers in a seditious plot to derail his candidacy and presidency and subvert the will of the American electorate.
Then we come to one of the ringleaders and the person who paid for the fake Russia dossier, Felonia von Pantsuit.
Adding to the case’s complexity is the FBI’s disparate treatment of Hillary Clinton, who was personally exonerated by Comey in the bureau’s investigation of her emails, codenamed Midyear Exam. The move cleared legal hurdles for her just weeks before her nomination at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. At the same time, recently declassified FBI documents reveal that Comey’s?deputy, Andrew McCabe,?scuttled?the FBI’s Clinton Foundation probe and other investigations tied to Clinton.
Soon after letting Clinton off the hook, according to the operating theory of the case, they opened the Crossfire Hurricane espionage case on Trump as an alleged “insurance policy” in the unlikely event that Clinton lost the election, suggesting an illegal plan to abuse law enforcement to frame the Republican candidate.
The level of corrupt by the Obama and Biden DoJ and FBI has led to calls to just give up, disband the FBI and fire everyone. As it is, Director Patel and former Assistant Director Bongino did make major inroads to cleaning up the rats nest that is the FBI. More work still needs to be done and putting all these people in prison would be a good start.
Recently declassified documents reveal Comey was aware of the Clinton plan to set up Trump as a Russian conspirator. Nonetheless, the FBI went after Trump based on a narrative they knew to be politically motivated and most likely bogus, which proved to be the case.
The RealClear Investigations story goes on to list all sorts of “Person’s of Interest.” However, it doesn’t name one that should be brought before a Grand Jury and asked some pointed questions. That would be Barack Obama. (Bringing Biden before a Grand Jury would be a waste of time. He doesn’t know what day it is) While the Supreme Court did grant a president some immunity, when you have one that is willfully violating the law?
However, the clock is ticking. DiGenova will have to secure convictions or guilty pleas before January 2029, when a Democratic administration could take over the DOJ and quash any indictments and prosecutions.
If the Democrats somehow take control of the government in 2029, considering everything they’ve been saying and doing of late, we’re going to have a far bigger problem than prosecuting all the Deep State actors.
The DOJ official close to diGenova’s office said the appointment of a special prosecutor to ride herd on the wide-ranging investigation should have been done a year ago, but then-Attorney General Pam Bondi was reluctant to take such risks.
“She was frightened by the entire thing,” he said. “She was way out of her depth.”
That she was. She came into office as President Trump’s second choice. She did do a lot of things that needed to be done, but she dropped the ball on a number of very critical investigations, such as this one. I think she saw where things were leading and literally was afraid that she would be assassinated. Well, she’s gone now and we have someone in the process of replacing her who is not afraid to go after all the criminals. Now we have to wait and see what comes next.
