Good day all. For four years, we watched several Democrat AG’s and DA’s conduct all out lawfare against President Trump. All their cunning plans fell apart and President Trump ran for reelection. It looks like the Democrat AG’s decided that President Trump was going to win and started conspiring to block him after the election.
Now it wouldn’t surprise me that the Democrat Attorneys General would talk with each other after the election. However, it looks like they were actively plotting to sue President Trump before the election was even held. Here are the details from RedState:
Democratic attorneys general were plotting to take President Donald Trump to court before voters had even rendered their verdict, and a confidential document proves it. A confidential agreement shows that at least 22 Democratic AGs began organizing a litigation network they dubbed the “Project for Federal Accountability” in April 2024, nearly seven months before Trump defeated Kamala Harris. Seven signed on April 28, 2024. Thirteen others joined in May or June. Not a single Republican attorney general appears on the document.
I suspect the reason that no Republican AG’s were on the agreement is simple. They weren’t asked. I would be surprised if they even knew about it.
The document was explicitly built to keep the coordination secret. Titled “PRIVILEGED & CONFIDENTIAL COMMON INTEREST AGREEMENT,” it shielded the states’ legal collaboration from public disclosure and from opposing counsel. The parties stated they wished to pursue their common interest “while avoiding any waiver of the confidentiality of those privileged materials.” Most records released by the Washington State AG’s office in response to public records requests came back entirely redacted. President Joe Biden was still in the race when the first AGs signed; he wouldn’t exit for nearly three more months. These attorneys general were not responding to Trump’s policies. They were war-gaming them.
We have seen the results of this agreement since President Trump returned to office. Almost nonstop lawsuits to block his agenda. Almost all of these have failed, with the Supreme Court having to get involved.
The scale of what followed is staggering. Democratic AGs have sued the Trump administration nearly 100 times since January 2025. California AG Rob Bonta alone has participated in 82 cases. Colorado’s Phil Weiser joined at least 75. Washington’s Nick Brown joined 70. Their offices divided research assignments by issue area, built a “brief bank” of pre-drafted briefs, and studied Project 2025 for litigation targets, all before Inauguration Day. Watchdog groups flagged the secret pact as early as February 2025.
Bonta is a flat out criminal in my opinion. He has absolute contempt for the Constitution. He has been actively aiding criminals and punishing decent citizens. His latest scam is trying to block the Paramount/Warner Brothers merger. It now looks like, not being satisfied with trying to thwart the will of the voters, he’s going after anyone who might support President Trump and flat out doesn’t care what damage he does.
The secrecy itself has drawn scrutiny. Retired Connecticut judge Thomas Moukawsher called the agreement’s framing legally dubious: “‘Federal Accountability?’ That’s just a little strange.” Former Utah AG Mark Shurtleff, a Republican who now often votes Democrat, put it plainly: “That’s not normal at all.
I honestly don’t know what can be done about this. Obviously, this is a conspiracy. These AG’s have used taxpayer funds for a political agenda. At first glance, ethically, this stinks to high heaven. I also think that this might warrant an investigation by the DoJ and, potentially, bringing a few, or all, of these AG’s in front of various State bar Associations.
I also think that Paramount/Skydance may have grounds to have the legal action by these communists bounced from the court. I’m not a lawyer of course and I don’t have any suggestions. Hopefully, the Ellisons, who own Skydance/Paramount find out about this and sic their lawyers on on them.
