Good day all. Senator Mitch McConnell, aka Cocaine Mitch, aka Mitch the Turtle, has been MIA from the senate for several months due to some sort of medical mishap. McConnell is also married to Elaine Chao and has been for over 30 years. There have long been rumors and innuendos regarding Elaine Chao and her connections to the People’s Republic of China.
Personally, I’ve tended to discount all these rumors and stories as just another conspiracy theory. However, it’s beginning to look like there might just be something to these rumors.
There is a report that Elaine Chao was working held appointments from Chicom organizations while she was serving in the Cabinet. Here are the details from the daily Caller:
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials appointed Sen. Mitch McConnell’s wife to multiple government positions, many of which partially overlapped with her two U.S. Cabinet posts, according to Chinese government and state media reports unearthed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
First, since the Daily Caller is reporting that they pulled this data from Chinese government reports. (The state media is the Chinese government, just like the New York Slimes, CNN and BSNOW are mouthpieces for the Democrat party) Unless the story provides other sources, I have to take them with a grain of salt. Elaine Chao, who married the Kentucky Republican in 1993, has held numerous U.S. government positions since the 1980s, including serving as Department of Labor (DOL) secretary throughout President George W. Bush’s tenure and as Department of Transportation (DOT) secretary during President Donald Trump’s first term. After resigning from the Trump administration in January 2021, Chao then served on the board of EV charging company ChargePoint between 2021 and 2026, and is now listed as a distinguished fellow at the Hudson Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit.
Ok, that’s all in the public record. I don’t see anything about being connected to the CCP, certainly in the way that Eric Swalwell was “Connected” to the Chinese spy, Fang Fang.
Chao — whose Chinese name is Zhao Xiaolan — has also received at least four Chinese government positions since 2008, including within arms of a CCP influence and intelligence agency called the United Front Work Department (UFWD), according to DCNF translations of Chinese government and state media reports. Beijing uses the UFWD to steer foreign policy and “gain access to advanced foreign technology,” according to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC).
Chao did not disclose any of the reported Chinese government positions during her January 2017 DOT secretary Senate confirmation hearing, which required her to list all positions held within the last ten years.
Now that is an issue. I wonder if President Trump was aware of Chao’s connections with the CCP? Somehow, I don’t think he was. It also begs the question, What did Mitch McConnell know and when did he know it?
Chao’s late sister, Angela Chao, and father, James S.C. Chao, founder of shipping firm Foremost Group, both also received Chinese government and UFWD arm positions, according to DCNF translations of Chinese government and state media reports.
So it was a “Family affair?”
The spokesman for Chao and Foremost Group, Patrick O’Connor, denied Chao, her sister or father had held such positions.
“She has never held a position with a foreign government or acted on behalf of one. We are not aware she has met with representatives from UFWD entities,” O’Connor said after being sent Chinese government and state media photos published between 2010 and 2026 showing Chao meeting with officials from the CCP and/or UFWD. “Such a suggestion disregards her nearly five decades of faithful service to the United States and is both unfounded and deeply insulting, hurtful and racist.”
First off, I am questioning the source material. Additional sources, separate from the Chinese media and government sources would, in fact, add to the credibility of this story. However, that idiot spokesman had to play the racism card. That has been something that certain ethnic groups have tried using when they were guilty as sin and trying to blackmail people into not covering something. It used to work, but these days?
The Left has been accusing everyone who wants to hold people accountable for their actions, regardless of skin color or eye shape, of being racists for so long that no one pays attention to the accusation any longer. In fact, when someone throws out that accusation, it usually makes people think “Hmmm, what are they trying to hide? In fact, the Daily Caller asked why it was considered racist to look into the allegations. The answer was a nice load of manure.
“No one seems to care when most American business or political leaders hold meetings in China, so it’s suspicious when the Daily Caller makes insinuations about a former two-time cabinet secretary of Asian descent, especially based on photos, some of which are decades old,” O’Connor said. “The secretary is a proud American who has devoted most of her professional life to serving the American people. To question her patriotism is a double standard, at best — racist, at worst.”
The Daily Caller followed up with a China expert on this very subject.
“No American, no matter how high and mighty, should have any ties with the Communist Party’s UFWD,” Gordon Chang, China expert and author, told the DCNF. “This organization is dedicated to destroying our country. This should not be hard to understand.”
On this we agree. Communist China has always been a hostile power. Since Xi Jinping took power, the Chinese Government has grown, if not more hostile, more confrontational. Now the Chinese people? They’re patriotic to their country, but like Americans, they just want to make a better life for themselves and their families. Unlike Americans, they really don’t have any say in the running of their country.
The Daily Caller story goes into further details on connections, dates, and times. However, as I’ve said before, this is from a single source. If this were a legal case, I doubt it would make it past the first hearing. That isn’t to say that their isn’t something to all this. I have little doubt that the Intelligence Community, (CIA, NSA, etc), actually know the truth. Whether that information is also in the hands of the FBI is an entirely different matter. I can see them not having it, or if they did, not being able to use it due to how the information was generated.
In any case, Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao’s influence is coming to an end. McConnell is out of office at the conclusion of this congress. After that, no one will pay any real attention to them. The same thing happened to Slick Willy Clinton and Felonia von Pantsuit once Felonia was out of government and shown to be not just thoroughly corrupt, but inept and incompetent as well. Like the Clintons, the Deep State did protect them.
Personally, I think that a full damage assessment needs to be done regarding both Cocaine Mitch and his wife, Elaine Chao to see how much potential damage may have done if any part of this story from the Daily Caller is accurate. It doesn’t need to be made public, and it’ll probably show that this story is a load of bovine droppings. Or it may show that it is 100% accurate and that we have a problem.
