Good day all. Recently, President Trump went to the United Nations for their annual meeting of world leaders. When he addressed the UN, he’ as usual, didn’t pull any punches. One of his main targets was, of course, Iran.
Basically, he issued an ultimatum to Iran. Make a deal or be annihilated. Here are some of the details from the Epoch Times:
President Donald Trump revealed a major decision he is considering regarding the conflict with Iran during his Sept. 22 address to the U.N. General Assembly. In his speech, Trump reiterated his administration’s position that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon and outlined how the U.S. military has targeted Iran’s navy, missile capabilities, and nuclear development.
Basically, where Iran generally hit’s civilian targets, the United States and Israel hit military targets. This included their leadership. The statement that Iran must never be allowed to have nuclear weapons is the reason all this started. If Iran ever got nuclear weapons, they would use them. Iran has said that they would use nukes, first on Israel and then on the United States. Even the Rocketman in North Korea hasn’t flat out threatened the first use of nuclear weapons against South Korea or the United States. This is why the next remark by President Trump is so important.
“But now I have a big decision to make: Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before, maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world?” Trump said on Sept. 22.
That would probably require the removal of the IRGC, the Basij thugs and the Ayatollahs. Iran was well on it’s way to becoming a great nation under the Shah when Khomeini overthrew his government and imposed the Islamic state.
“Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?”
Ok, this is definitely a flat out threat to Iran. The short version amounts to “Play ball with use or we’ll shove the bat up your ass.” The long version is complicated. Basically, it amounts to the United States taking the gloves off. We would start targeting civilian infrastructure.
This means power plants, bridges, water systems, communications networks, food distribution and potentially sources. (Warehouses and farms) It would mean making the cities uninhabitable. The entire civilian economy would be completely wrecked with no way to repair it.
We wouldn’t actually move to level the cities, but I suspect that concern over collateral damage would be significantly reduced. We might do what Israel does and tell people in those areas that it would be a good idea to leave and soon. There are also a number of other things that could be done as well that don’t involve things that go boom. Basically, Iran would go from a second-third world country to all but ceasing to exist as a nation state.
The president detailed the two options he is considering as the Iranian delegation at the United Nations watched his speech on Sept. 22.
Oh I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when they were talking among themselves. Without question, the IRGC and the Ayatollahs would ignore this as they’ve ignored everything else. I wonder what their thoughts will be when they can’t get any food or water and the power is out, permanently? I also think it’s a safe bet that Iran’s oil infrastructure would be destroyed as well. However, this is a worst case scenario and not one President Trump wants to do.
Trump told the General Assembly that he believes the United States and Iran will make a deal shortly after the upcoming midterm election. The president suggested that Tehran was waiting to see the election outcome before making a deal with his administration.
If that’s what those thugs in Iran are thinking, they would be wrong.
“I gave absolutely no credence and will not give credence to the election when it comes to Iran. It doesn’t even enter my mind,” Trump said.
“The only thing that does is that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.”
As I mentioned earlier, there is no doubt that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, they will use them. The people running Iran are religious fanatics. They know that if they were to use one or more nukes on either Israel or the United States, we would retaliate. They don’t care.
Part of their religion, and I’m hazy on this, believes that an apocalypses will cause the return of some religious figure who is a big deal in the Shia sect. They may not understand that it won’t be a few nukes, Iran will be flat out glassed. The only consideration would be minimizing fallout landing in other countries.
After highlighting the threat of Iran, Trump urged all nations to join the United States in enforcing the “complete economic isolation” of Tehran until the regime ceases its attacks on commercial shipping, ends its support of terrorist groups, and abandons its nuclear ambitions.
You can count in the People’s Republic of China and Russia to ignore the idea of economically isolating Iran, just as you can forget about Iran, or at least the IRGC and the Mad Mullahs abandoning their desire for nukes and supporting terrorism.
“The terrorist regime is behaving badly, not because they are strong and confident, but because they are weak and desperate,” Trump said.
“If we stand united, we will soon see a world free of the last 51-year menace of Iranian terror, and oil prices will come plummeting down even lower than they were at the start of the conflict.”
One of the problems with the oil prices is, of course, Iran. Another is Russia not being able to legally sell their oil on the world market. Finally, you have all the companies that insure shipping just refusing to do so for ships going into the Arabian Gulf. (Sorry Mr. President. We have the Gulf of America and Lake America. The Arabs have a better claim to it)
In the mean time, there have been some low level discussions with Iran at the UN. President Trump has met with senior people from the Gulf states on what comes next of the Iranians don’t take the deal being offered.
Trump told the UN General Assembly that he immediately started negotiating with Iran after taking office in January 2025. The regime was offered full economic cooperation in exchange for the termination of its nuclear program and support for terrorism, but it refused, he said.
Of course they did. The Iranian leadership appears to have studied at the Palestinian school of negations. “Never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity)
In response to Iran’s refusal, Trump said the U.S. military obliterated the regime’s nuclear program in Operation Midnight Hammer. The U.S. military operation, which was carried out on June 22, 2025, targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites.
Iran is still trying to rebuild their nuclear program, and it looks like the United States is working on tactics and weapons to obliterate that next.
Trump said that Iran still refused a deal with the United States after the operation and continued to build missile and drone stockpiles. The U.S. military later launched Operation Epic Fury on Feb. 28 after Iran was given “every chance for a deal,” Trump said.
And, for all intents and purposes, Iran no longer has a military. Most of the military infrastructure has been wrecked and the economy is spiraling into complete collapse. When Iran managed to hit a plane with a MANPAD, one of the crewmen was injured and not able to move very well. The United States went int, set up a temporary airbase and picked up the crewman while blasting anything that came close. (There will be a movie about this eventually)
Currently, the only areas that Iran can get anything coming into the country is through Pakistan and Russia. If President Trump has to go full biblical, all those routes will be blown into scrap and craters. Right now the ball is in Iran’s court. I fully expect them to drop it yet again.
