About that drug shortage?

Good day all. I was doing my morning reading when I came upon an interesting story in the Washington Examiner. As you may be aware, especially if this issue has affected you, there has been a shortage of medications and drugs for the last few years.

Well, the reason for this has been found and it can be summed up in three words: Barack Hussein Obama. Specifically, the Obama run FDA. ((Food and Drug Administration)) For the last few years there have been a number of stories about drug shortages and with the typical lazy work on investigation by the Obama Ministry of Propaganda MSM ((Main Stream Media, AKA Mostly Stupid Media)), the drug companies have been blamed for the shortages.

The Washington Examiner actually did some real reporting and has reported the actual cause of the problem. Here are some of the details from the Washington Examiner:

President Obama’s Food and Drug Administration has caused “a public health crisis” — a prescription drug shortage over the past two years — by increasing the number of threats issued to raid and close drug manufacturing plants, according to House investigators.

Now why doesn’t this surprise me?

“This shortage appears to be a direct result of over-aggressive and excessive regulatory action,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said in a statement. “These drugs can save lives and keep people who need them living healthy lives. The FDA is failing to ensure the availability of quality products.”

How did this happen? I thought “The One” had done something to insure plenty of medications for those in need?

President Obama signed an executive order last year to help the FDA anticipate drug shortages while knocking Congress for failing to pass his preferred legislation on the issue. “Congress has been trying since February to do something about this,” Obama said in November. “It has not yet been able to get it done . . . we can’t wait.”

Once again, the SCoaMF screwed everything up.

The committee report (.pdf) concluded that a significant portion of the drug shortage is a problem of the Obama administration’s making. “Among shuttered manufacturing lines that occurred over the previous two years, the committee’s review did not find any instances where the shutdown was associated with reports of drugs harming customers,” the report says, noting a 30 percent drop in the manufacture of certain prescription drugs at the largest manufacturers in the country.

Gee, now there’s a surprise…NOT! This is simply a repeat of what Der Fubar did to the energy sector after the Gulf oil spill. ((Deepwater Horizon oil spill)) He ordered what has come to be seen as the virtual shutdown of offshore oil drilling operations, primarily to jack up the price of oil and make his cronies “Green Energy” business actually profitable. ((Solyndra)) The EPA has been attacking companies in the energy sector with the goal of destroying it. Think I’m joking? Remember this post? Well the FDA has decided to emulate the secret police tactics of the EPA.

The drug shortage crisis began in 2010 after the FDA began sending letters to companies found to be in violation of a given rule, in which the company was warned that “failure to promptly correct these violations may result in legal action without further notice including, without limitation, seizure and injunction.” The FDA sent just 474 such letters in 2009, but that number spiked to 1720 in 2011.

This is bad. The story doesn’t go into why they are doing this, but I suspect it’s all due to the Democrats wanting to nationalize the medical industry. If they shut down all the drug companies, they can claim there is an emergency and simply seize the manufacturing plants. For the children of course.

As usual, anything that advances the Nazi Progressive Socialist Marxist Totalitarian Democratic Party’s agenda is seen as a good thing by the left wing in this country, and they don’t care how many people they kill to get what they want…A new slave state to replace the one the Democrats lost back in 1865. That would be the Confederate States of America to those of you who went to a public school.

It’s time to get ride of these slaving, genocidal tyrants, and that time is coming soon. November to be exact.
