Democrats end on a Wing and a Prayer

Good day all. The train wreck known as the 2012 Democratic Convention has ended and it was even worse than people, (Other than Democrats), expected. One of the major disasters was the removal of any mention of God in the platform, along with removal of Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel.

When this blew up in the faces of the Obama reelection team, they went into full overdrive to correct the “Oversight.” The DNC decided to hold a vote to insert God back into the platform. However, the results were “unexpected” to say the least. I’ll let this video from Allen West show you just what Liberal Democrats think of God.

A number of commentators believe that the actual motion failed on all three votes and that the DNC Chicago’d it through anyway. (They ignored the delegates and passed added it anyway) Then there was Obama’s acceptance speech.

I didn’t watch it. From what I’ve heard, I didn’t miss anything. The reviews coming in were uniformly bad. Charles Krauthammer. (Who I don’t generally pay attention to these days), referred to the speech as “One Of The Emptiest Speeches I Have Ever Heard.” Here are a few things Mr. Krauthammer had to say:

I was stunned. This is a man who gave one of the great speeches of our time in 2004, and he gave one of the emptiest speeches I have ever heard on a national stage. Yes, it had cadence, and yes, there were deceptions in it, but that is not what is so striking about it. There was nothing in it. This is a man who believes that government can and should do a lot. There is nothing in here that tells us how he’s going to go from today to tomorrow. For any of the so called goals and what government is going to do, what is he going to enact?

Mr. Krauthammer, what do you think happened to that empty chair once Clint Eastwood was finished talking? It went on to deliver the speech you’re complaining about in your column. Obama is a complete and utter failure. He has no ideas and never did. All he has ever had were platitudes, lies and hot air.

The final nail in the coffin was the closing benediction by Cardinal Dolan. The Cardinal has been rather upset with the current regime in Washington. In total violation of the First Amendment, The Obama tyranny has ordered the Catholic Church to provide birth control and abortion services to people who work for the church.

Because of this issue, at first the DNC had not planned on inviting Dolan to give a benediction. The Cardinal had been invited to give a benediction at the RNC convention and was shown respect by the convention delegates. As Misha I said at the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler said, in reference to the snubbing of Cardinal Dolan,

Cardinal Dolan was initially snubbed by the Democrat National Socialist Abortion Party when he offered to deliver a closing benediction at Abortion-Palooza™ just as he’d offered it to the GOP in Tampa. Initially, until the Narcissist-in-Chief or somebody close to him recognized the self-inflicted gaping chest wound they were about receive and they hurriedly asked him to come anyway.

Well, I think they are having second thoughts on that. The Cardinal’s benediction had a few choice items in it.

Now if you look at this and how the current misadminstration has been attacking the Church specifically and religion in general, (Except Islam of course), you will see the subtle digs at Obama and his cronies. Where the Democrats have been pushing to enslave the American people, Cardinal Dolan goes in the opposite direction.

Needless to say, the Cardinal’s benediction was not met with the joy and respect it was at the Republican convention. First, all the networks, with the exception of FOX, cut away from it. (They must have known what a slam it was going to be), and afterwords, all those wonderful, tolerant, liberals on Twitter promptly began cussing out Cardinal Dolan and dropping one F-bomb after the other. In the interests of clarity, in case you had trouble with the video, I’ve posted the transcript of Cardinal Dolan’s benediction at the close of the Convention:

Almighty God, father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, revealed to us so powerfully in your Son, Jesus Christ, we thank you for showering your blessings upon this our beloved nation. Bless all here present, and all across this great land, who work hard for the day when a greater portion of your justice, and a more ample measure of your care for the poor and suffering, may prevail in these United States. Help us to see that a society’s greatness is found above all in the respect it shows for the weakest and neediest among us.

We beseech you, almighty God to shed your grace on this noble experiment in ordered liberty, which began with the confident assertion of inalienable rights bestowed upon us by you: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Thus do we praise you for the gift of life. Grant us the courage to defend it, life, without which no other rights are secure. We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected. Strengthen our sick and our elders waiting to see your holy face at life’s end, that they may be accompanied by true compassion and cherished with the dignity due those who are infirm and fragile.

We praise and thank you for the gift of liberty. May this land of the free never lack those brave enough to defend our basic freedoms. Renew in all our people a profound respect for religious liberty: the first, most cherished freedom bequeathed upon us at our Founding. May our liberty be in harmony with truth; freedom ordered in goodness and justice. Help us live our freedom in faith, hope, and love. Make us ever-grateful for those who, for over two centuries, have given their lives in freedom’s defense; we commend their noble souls to your eternal care, as even now we beg the protection of your mighty arm upon our men and women in uniform.

We praise and thank you for granting us the life and the liberty by which we can pursue happiness. Show us anew that happiness is found only in respecting the laws of nature and of nature’s God. Empower us with your grace so that we might resist the temptation to replace the moral law with idols of our own making, or to remake those institutions you have given us for the nurturing of life and community. May we welcome those who yearn to breathe free and to pursue happiness in this land of freedom, adding their gifts to those whose families have lived here for centuries.

We praise and thank you for the American genius of government of the people, by the people and for the people. Oh God of wisdom, justice, and might, we ask your guidance for those who govern us: President Barack Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden, Congress, the Supreme Court, and all those, including Governor Mitt Romney and Congressman Paul Ryan, who seek to serve the common good by seeking public office. Make them all worthy to serve you by serving our country. Help them remember that the only just government is the government that serves its citizens rather than itself. With your grace, may all Americans choose wisely as we consider the future course of public policy.

And finally Lord, we beseech your benediction on all of us who depart from here this evening, and on all those, in every land, who yearn to conduct their lives in freedom and justice. We beg you to remember, as we pledge to remember, those who are not free; those who suffer for freedom’s cause; those who are poor, out of work, needy, sick, or alone; those who are persecuted for their religious convictions, those still ravaged by war.

And most of all, God Almighty, we thank you for the great gift of our beloved country.

For we are indeed “one nation under God,” and “in God we trust.”

So dear God, bless America. You who live and reign forever and ever.

And Amen to you Cardinal. Now for some due diligence. I am Catholic, although a pretty poor one.

The 2012 Democratic convention had a number of self inflicted gunshots. First there was the DNC’s video that basically said we all belong to the government. This was followed up by a great “Man on the street” style video by Peter Schiff, where he went around asking the delegates if they thought corporate profits should be banned.

Then there was DNC Chair and utter buffoon, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz caught lying about the Israeli saying that Republican policies as harmful to Israel. Human Events has the full story and the video proof of that forked tongue devil and blithering idiot, DWS.

And then there was former governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm’s version of the Dean Scream.

For those of you who don’t know, Granholm managed to just about destroy the state’s economy. While every other state was growing economically, you had to be careful in Michigan during her two terms that you weren’t run down by a U-Haul truck as people and businesses fled the state.

Now we head into the full power Run for the White House. We know where both party’s stand. The Democrats have shown they have no ideas at all other than more of the same in spades. Nothing less then a totalitarian slave state will suffice for the average liberal progressive Democrat. The Republicans offer smaller, constitutional government and liberty. VP Nominee Paul Ryan has proposed two federal budgets that were passed in the house and ignored by Harry the crook Reid. He has plans to correct the fiscal disaster we now face. (Imperfect, but a start)

The Democrats have…nothing. As I said at the beginning, the Democrats ended on a Wing and a Prayer. The wing fell off the plane a long time ago and they ignored the prayer.

The Stupid! It Burns! Make it stop!
