John Kerry calls for more internet regulation

John Forbes “Live Shot” Kerry. He may have surpassed Hillary Clinton as the most incompetent Secretary of State in living memory. Fresh off his failures with Iran, he is now calling for more laws to restrict the Internet.

lurch-kerry

Kerry has a long history of subverting American Sovereignty to Europeans or the United Nations. He also, like most elitists, despises anything that provide uncontrolled information to the “Masses.” He is also clueless on how the internet works and why it has been so successful to date. Here are some of the details of his latest stupidity from the Weekly Standard:

In a speech today in South Korea, Secretary of State John Kerry said that the Internet “needs rules to be able to flourish and work properly.” This, according to Kerry, is necessary even for “a technology founded on freedom.

The-Good-Idea-Fairy-3

And what do you know of the Internet moron? Do you understand how DNS works? Can you even read a basic URL and understand what it means, even in the most general way? You know, like your average 10 year old can?

Speaking on behalf of the Obama administration, Kerry said that Internet policy is “a key component of our foreign policy.”

We have a foreign policy? Oh I know! You mean caving in and surrendering French style to anyone who opposes us.

Kerry made his remarks in the context of talking about how international law is applicable to the Internet. “As I’ve mentioned, the basic rules of international law apply in cyberspace. Acts of aggression are not permissible. And countries that are hurt by an attack have a right to respond in ways that are appropriate, proportional, and that minimize harm to innocent parties. We also support a set of additional principles that, if observed, can contribute substantially to conflict prevention and stability in time of peace. We view these as universal concepts that should be appealing to all responsible states, and they are already gaining traction,” said Kerry.

headdesk

Lets see if I can translate that into basic English.

First, there is no such thing as “International Law.” There are agreements and treaties between nations, but the only way they are enforced is if the parties agree to it. Spain and Belgium may have decided that they will be the ones to enforce “International Law,” if other countries tell them to go pound sand, they have no way of enforcing their “rulings.”

As to responding if our networks are attacked, are you talking about some 16 year old script kiddie in a basement in Volgograd or the Russian FSB hammering at our power grid? There is a difference. As to this nonsense of “A proportional, appropriate response?” Hell no! You hit the “Enemy” with everything you have and make sure they can’t harm us again you treasonous twit!

“First, no country should conduct or knowingly support online activity that intentionally damages or impedes the use of another country’s critical infrastructure.

I agree with that, but I’m not so sure the Chinese, Russians or your Best Friends Forever, the Iranians will pay any attention to you. They know how you and your butt buddy Obama will respond:
“Now that was very bad of you. Don’t do it again or we will be very cross.”

There are a total of 5 of these “Rules” Live Shot wants. In and of themselves, they do make some sense, but then…John Forbes Kerry.

“To build trust, the UN Group of Governmental Experts has stressed the importance of high-level communication, transparency about national policies, dispute settlement mechanisms, and the timely sharing of information – all of them, very sound and important thoughts.

UN Bluehat

And anything the UN wants, I don’t want. For instance, the UN Group of Governmental Experts? Experts at what? Stealing everything that isn’t nailed down and then breaking out the crowbars to pull out the nails?

The bottom line is that we who seek stability and peace in cyberspace should be clear about what we expect and intend, and those who may be tempted to cause trouble should be forewarned: they will be held accountable for their actions. The United States reserves the right to use all necessary means, including economic, trade and diplomatic tools, as appropriate in order to defend our nation and our partners, our friends, our allies.

rofl

And I can just see all those who “Will be held accountable” rolling on the floor laughing their asses off.

The sanctions against North Korean officials earlier this year are one example of the use of such a tool in response to DPRK’s provocative, destabilizing and repressive actions, including the cyber-attack on Sony Pictures.

And what was North Korea’s response? They ignored you and started firing a new class of missiles. As for the Sony hack? The last I heard, they were thinking it was an internal hack. In other words, someone on the inside was the one who leaked all the information out.

Now, as the international community moves towards consensus about what exactly constitutes unacceptable behavior in cyberspace, more and more responsible nations need to join together to act against disruptors and rogue actors.

stupid you are

And there’s the announcement that anyone that the “Ruling Elite” doesn’t like, basically anyone who thinks for themselves, believes in free speech, the Constitution and distrusts people like John Forbes “Live Shot” Kerry will be jailed. Hey Lantern Jaw. Do you really think it’s a good idea to let countries such as the People’s Republic of China, or Iran have any say on how the internet functions? Oh silly me. Of course he does.

DV the Stupid is strong

There are ways to deal with the problems out there on the Internet. Kerry and the other totalitarians ideas won’t fix anything, unless being able to kill off the internet is what you want to do. Knowing Kerry, Obama and the other statist types, I think that’s just what they have in what passes for their minds.
