Good day all. Yesterday Donald Trump held a rally in San Jose, California, and the usual suspects from the left came out and did their usual Sturmabteilung stuff. They attacked anyone who supported Donald Trump.
There were physical assaults, Trump supporters were chased down and eggs thrown at them, and the police, rather than protect the Trump people, seemed to try and “de-escalate” the tense situation. There are a number of stories out there on what happened starting with CBS SFBay Area:
A few hundred protesters fought with supporters of Donald Trump after the presidential candidate’s rally in San Jose Thursday night. Over a dozen fights broke out in the crowd. Punches were thrown, violence erupted. Even police had to retreat.
And that was the first mistake. From what I’ve been reading, all of the violence was initiated by the left wing protestors. The fights that occurred were primarily Trump supporters defending themselves against the Nazi Sturmabteilung tactics used by the demonstrators.
Protesters followed Trump supporters to their cars as they left the convention center. Around the corner and away from police protection on San Carlos Street, a mob mentality took over. A young man wearing a “Build The Wall” T-shirt was assaulted by several young men. Fearing for the man’s safety, KPIX 5 reporter Len Ramirez yelled at him to get away. For several minutes, there was no police presence and protesters thumped Trump supporters’ cars in the parking garage as they tried to leave.
The San Jose Police, to be blunt, botched this situation up badly. They have seen how the leftists act in other cities and should have been ready for it. Of course, it’s very possible they were ordered to, if not stand down, then not to interfere as much as they would have. San Jose’s mayor blamed all of the troubles on Donald Trump. According to the Weakly Standard:
The mayor of San Jose, Democrat Sam Liccardo, reacted angrily to the events. Not that he was particularly upset at the violent mob that attacked innocent Americans, of course. No, his ire was directed at Mr. Trump. “At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign,” the mayor said. Apparently it was downright “irresponsible” of Trump to even set foot in California’s third largest city.
As far as I’m concerned, Liccardo’s remarks make him an accessory to the assaults perpetrated by the left wing thugs. It makes me wonder if he didn’t order the police to avoid interfering with the attacks on the Trump supporters.
The Washington Post characterized the mayor’s remarks as if they were just standard partisan hackery: It noted that the mayor is a “Hillary Clinton supporter.” But Liccardo’s remarks were far different than, say, a cable TV flack claiming that Trump’s tax policy “favors the rich.” (And by the way, he employed the same logic as as a slack-jawed misogynist saying of a sexual assault victim, “hey, her skirt was so short, she was asking for it.”)
Mayor Liccardo justified committing violence against people with whom he disagrees politically. That’s an attack on the very foundation of our system of government and the First Amendment, and a very dangerous one.
If Liccardo thinks that this was justified, and that it was just fine for innocent people excising their rights under the 1st Amendment, then he needs to be removed from office immediately. We saw similar reactions from Democrat “leaders” when the SEIU’s Purple People Beaters started attacking Tea Party protestors. The only reason it stopped was the Tea Party publicly announcing that anyone lawfully entitled to carry a gun, do so.
The Union Thugs aren’t suicidal and understood they had met a group that would fight back if attacked, and the assaults stopped. The left wing thugs are different. While the SEIU’s thugs were generally paid to beat be there, these leftists are “True Believers.” They are the ones police need to step on hard before they get out of control.
While California has done it’s best to suppress the 2nd Amendment, there are a lot of people who own guns and, unlike gang bangers, leftists and criminals, know how to use them. With the remarks made by the Mayor of San Jose, people who go to Trump events might decide they can’t rely on the police to protect them. They will bring their guns with them.
Granted, there is no way they could bring them into a Trump rally. (The Secret Service has been handling security since at least January) Instead, they could leave them in their cars, or “Designated Protectors” could stay outside. That’s when things get scary. These people don’t want trouble, but if they are attacked by these left wing mobs, they will draw their guns and they will open fire.
Even if this doesn’t happen, there is one effect these thugs are having, and it is completely unintentional. They are driving more and more people into the Trump camp. This is exactly what happened back in 1968 when the summer riots caused people to abandon the Democrat party and instead elect Richard Nixon.
As these thugs increase their levels of violence, average people who might have considered voting for *shudder* Cankles or possible the Libertarian, (Allegedly), ticket of Johnson and Weld, will instead decide that Trump is what we need right now. As Trump rises in the polls, these morons will ramp up their violence causing more people to support Trump, even the most vociferous of the Never Trump!(ers).
Thanks to the likes of Barack Obama and his predecessors, along with thousands of college and university professors, today’s “Youths” have been taught to hate America, hate freedom and to attack anyone who disagrees with the Progressive herd mentality. They are running into the hard truth. Most Americans don’t agree with them at all.
I fully expect Donald Trump to win in a landslide, and that his “coattails” will let him hold on to the Senate and the House, and probably cause even more Progressive Liberal Democrats to lose their seats. When that happens, the Leftists will deny that their antics were the cause and continue to blame everyone else. Morons.
