Good day all. Over the last few years, we’ve seen the rise of the Social Justice Warriors and their fellow travelers, the Precious Snowflakes. These “People” are generally college and university students.
The Snowflakes and SJW’s have been demonstrating against, well anything that offends them at the moment. Now, we have a bunch if moonbats at Tufts University protesting free speech. Here are the details from Heatstreet:
The Tufts University student government has overwhelmingly rejected a resolution to broaden free-speech protections on campus, with some student leaders denouncing the measure as an “unsafe” act that “actually really harms students.”
The resolution from Tufts student Jake Goldberg had called for adding clarifications to the university’s speech guidelines, which have earned Tufts a “red light” rating from the free-speech advocacy group FIRE.
The resolution took aim at the university’s vague administrative prohibitions against “inappropriate language,” “gender bias,” “hurtful words,” and “comments on an individual’s body or appearance,” among other examples cited in the measure.
Well, I can see why these precious snowflakes would be offended. How dare anyone say anything that goes against the politically correct theme of the day. (Whatever it happens to be at that moment)
Such guidelines were far too broad, and threatened free speech rights on campus, Goldberg argued. Clarifying language was needed “so that we the students are fully aware of exactly what conduct violates Tufts’ policies and simultaneously receive the full protection of the First Amendment in regards to speech.”
Well, this makes sense. Currently, these rules, which are blatantly illegal in the first place, are used to attack anyone who says anything that someone else doesn’t like. Apparently, the student political commissars leaders weren’t thrilled with the concept of freedom.
Tufts student leaders did not agree. The student senate recently voted down the measure 26 to zero, with two abstentions, the College Fix reports. A number of student senators argued that the proposal “actually really harms students” because “clarity in itself is subjective.”
One student senator argued in a Facebook post, which she later deleted, that a holistic process is needed to balance our right to free speech and everyone’s right to access their education free from discrimination.”
Follow the link provided. It leads to a .pdf file that someone created before Olivia Dehm was able to delete it from Faceplant. It’s a bit fuzzy, but readable, and it shows what a little totalitarian thug Dehm is. She isn’t alone in her belief that free speech is evil.
Student senator Nesi Altaras pushed pack on the suggestion that free-speech rights are the “best kind of rights,” because “there are other countries with free speech issues, and some countries handle them better than America.”
Yes, it’s called censorship, imprisonment without trial, torture and summery executions. I would suggest that move back to Turkey where you’ll be happier, unless, the current dictator, Erdogan, wants to arrest you as an enemy of the state.
Another student senator, Ben Kesslen, suggested that Tufts students “instantly” began feeling “unsafe” upon learning of the resolution’s existence. “By passing this resolution, we [would be] making more students feel unsafe on a campus they already might not feel safe,” he said.
What a wimp. Now here’s what will probably happen in the next year or so. Someone will say something that offends you, and Tufts will move against that person. (This has already happened), Depending on what happens, there is a better then even chance that Tufts will be sued for violating the civil rights of the person being attacked by the moonbats. (There have been a few cases that have hit the courts of late) Since Tufts receives federal tax dollars, they can’t claim that they are a private institution. They will lose the suit and could be liable to some major damages, not to mention a court appointed agent to oversee the corrective actions Tufts will be ordered to implement.
It’s time for these Moonbats to come to grips with reality. Donald Trump is going to be the 45th president of the United States. He was elected by a majority of the country. (This nonsense about the popular vote is meaningless) He won most of the counties, with only a few high density areas going for Felonia von Pantsuit. One of the reasons he was chosen is his utter rejection of everything Politically Correct.
If the Social Justice Warriors and precious snowflakes continue to reject everything this country stands for, they are going to find themselves rejected when they leave college and enter the real world. Those worthless degrees in things like International Studies and Women’s Studies that cost you tens of thousands of dollars will make you qualified as nothing more than a burger flipper at McDonalds…unless those jobs are replaced by robots since they don’t cost $15/hour to operate. What will you do then? More protests? More complaints of “Hurt Feelz”? Good luck with that.
