Good day all. It’s been a while since I did a dedicated “Chump of the Week” post, but this person managed to ring all the bells. We have a former member of the Obama Regime calling for the military to overthrow President Trump.
The individual in question is one Rosa Brooks. She was the Counselor to the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy during the Great Mistake. Currently she is a law professor at Georgetown University and a senior fellow with the New America/Arizona State University Future of War Project. She is also a classic Progressive Moonbat. However, what made her the nominee for the Chump of the Week was a column she wrote on the FP Group web site. In it, she calls for, among other things, the military to stage a coup and remove President Trump. Here are the details of her delusions on a military coup, along with other means to overthrow the government:
Are we really stuck with this guy? It’s the question being asked around the globe, because Donald Trump’s first week as president has made it all too clear: Yes, he is as crazy as everyone feared.
Aaaannd we’re off to the races! From this opening paragraph, it shows that Brooks is stunned that President Trump is actually working to keep his promises. For a Progressive member of the Beltway Uniparty, this is a shocking concept.
Remember those optimistic pre-inauguration fantasies? I cherished them, too. You know: “Once he’s president, I’m sure he’ll realize it doesn’t really make sense to withdraw from all those treaties.” “Once he’s president, surely he’ll understand that he needs to stop tweeting out those random insults.” “Once he’s president, he’ll have to put aside that ridiculous campaign braggadocio about building a wall along the Mexican border.” And so on.
I see someone was not paying attention to the anger in Flyover country. I’m not surprised since people like you consider that region to be unimportant.
Nope. In his first week in office, Trump has made it eminently clear that he meant every loopy, appalling word — and then some.
The result so far: The president of China is warning against trade wars and declaring that Beijing will take up the task of defending globalization and free trade against American protectionism. The president of Mexico has canceled a state visit to Washington, and prominent Mexican leaders say Trump’s proposed border wall “could take us to a war — not a trade war.” Senior leaders in Trump’s own party are denouncing the new president’s claims of widespread voter fraud and his reported plans to reopen CIA “black sites.” Oh, and the entire senior management team at the U.S. Department of State has resigned.
I see that you missed my post on how President Trump has gotten inside the Mostly Stupid Media’s and by extension, the Progressive Beltway Uniparty’s OODA Loop. Perhaps you should read Scott Adam’s blog on how Trump is 5 moves ahead of everyone else when dealing with people like yourself. And as for those people who resigned? They were Obama appointees and serve at the pleasure of the President. They were also the ones that have been covering up the criminal behavior of your candidate, Felonia von Pantsuit.
Thus the question: Are we truly stuck with Donald Trump?
You are. Me, I’m quite satisfied with what he’s been doing.
It depends. There are essentially four ways to get rid of a crummy president. First, of course, the world can just wait patiently for November 2020 to roll around, at which point, American voters will presumably have come to their senses and be prepared to throw the bum out.
And here we see the Moonbat in full bark. Since Brooks supported the criminal, Felonia von Pantsuit, anyone else would be considered “A bad president.”
But after such a catastrophic first week, four years seems like a long time to wait.
Catastrophic? Not to me, and not to a majority of Americans. We like what he’s doing and want him to move faster. Of course, you and the rest of the over-educated elite are in shock that we now have a president who actually, unlike you, believes in and supports the United States of America, and not the UN, The EU, and George Soros.
This brings us to option two: impeachment. Under the U.S. Constitution, a simple majority in the House of Representatives could vote to impeach Trump for “treason, bribery, or other high crimes or misdemeanors.” If convicted by the Senate on a two-thirds vote, Trump could be removed from office — and a new poll suggests that after week one, more than a third of Americans are already eager to see Trump impeached.
And this isn’t going to happen. As to that “More than a third” of Americans? That would be the hard left Progressive moonbats who, frankly, despise the this country and everything about it. Hopefully, when a chunk of California secedes and becomes the People’s Democratic Republic of Freedonia, you and all the other moonbats will be emigrating to your new homeland.
The Republicans control both houses of the legislature and are about to drop the big one on the Democrats in the senate. (That would be the “Nuclear Option”) If you were actually honest, (But since you are a Progressive, honesty is not part of your makeup), you would have been calling for your former boss, Barack Obama’s impeachment over his proven law breaking and contempt for the Constitution.
Anyway, impeachments take time: months, if not longer — even with an enthusiastic Congress. And when you have a lunatic controlling the nuclear codes, even a few months seems like a perilously long time to wait. How long will it take before Trump decides that “you’re fired” is a phrase that should also apply to nuclear missiles? (Aimed, perhaps, at Mexico?)
Oh here we go again with the Nuclear Codes nonsense. This dimbulb was in the Department of Defense, and she knows how the launching of a nuclear weapon works. It requires two people to authorize the launching of a nuke. One is the President, the other is someone else. Then there is the actual chain to launch the weapons. Anywhere along that chain, someone can refuse to fire. Since Impeachment is off the table, what else is in your toolkit Rosa?
In these dark days, some around the globe are finding solace in the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.
Oh this should be good.
This previously obscure amendment states that “the Vice President and a majority of … the principal officers of the executive departments” can declare the president “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,” in which case “the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”
Do you know why this section was added to the 25th Amendment? It was due to the health issues of the Democrats progressive hero, Woodrow Wilson. He suffered a severe stroke while President, and was really not fit to continue in office. Rather then step down, his wife and a couple of others conspired to take over and run the country until Wilson was able to resume his duties. Blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, but Mrs. Wilson was able to pull it off with the help of a few key cabinet members.
Since Donald Trump is quite healthy, and obviously not insane, no matter how much you want him to be, the 25th doesn’t apply. There are other issues with trying to use the 25th. The sitting president can fight back, and in the end, it would still take congress to remove him, and the numbers required are the same as an impeachment. So what else is do you have in mind?
The fourth possibility is one that until recently I would have said was unthinkable in the United States of America: a military coup, or at least a refusal by military leaders to obey certain orders.
The principle of civilian control of the military has been deeply internalized by the U.S. military, which prides itself on its nonpartisan professionalism. What’s more, we know that a high-ranking lawbreaker with even a little subtlety can run rings around the uniformed military. During the first years of the George W. Bush administration, for instance, formal protests from the nation’s senior-most military lawyers didn’t stop the use of torture. When military leaders objected to tactics such as waterboarding, the Bush administration simply bypassed the military, getting the CIA and private contractors to do their dirty work.
In case you forgot, we had just been attacked and suffered 3000 Americans killed and a trillion dollar hit to the economy by Muslim terrorists. Of course, being a moonbat, you are fully on board with the idea that it was America’s fault, or even that it was a plot by the Bush Administration to get America into a war so that the Military/Industrial Complex, led by Haliburton’s man in the white house, Dick Cheney would get billions in taxpayer funded contracts.
What would top U.S. military leaders do if given an order that struck them as not merely ill-advised, but dangerously unhinged? An order that wasn’t along the lines of “Prepare a plan to invade Iraq if Congress authorizes it based on questionable intelligence,” but “Prepare to invade Mexico tomorrow!” or “Start rounding up Muslim Americans and sending them to Guantánamo!” or “I’m going to teach China a lesson — with nukes!”
How about the fact that President Trump isn’t going to do that? Perhaps you have forgotten the last time we went into Mexico? That was done on the orders of a Democrat President, your beloved Progressive hero, Woodrow Wilson. He didn’t ask for permission to invade Mexico from Congress. But then, he was a Progressive Democrat after all.
President Trump, on the other hand, has no interest ins sending American troops anywhere unless he has no choice. He fully understands that our forces are exhausted, shorthanded, the equipment is old and worn out, and that we need to rebuild. He isn’t a NeoCon with delusions of empire building, (See Iraq), and a lack of ability to actually do that. He’s going to rebuild our military, and with the appointment of General Mattis as Secretary of Defense, he’s started in the right direction.
Unlike your president, Trump listens to people who know more then he does. He also, unlike Der Fubar or yourself, doesn’t consider himself to be the smartest person in the room. He won’t be issuing the orders you seem to think he will. Of course, you are a delusional member of the Progressive Beltway Uniparty, and you actually think that Trump will issue illegal orders or that the Military will send troops into Washington.
The prospect of American military leaders responding to a presidential order with open defiance is frightening — but so, too, is the prospect of military obedience to an insane order. After all, military officers swear to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not the president. For the first time in my life, I can imagine plausible scenarios in which senior military officials might simply tell the president: “No, sir. We’re not doing that,” to thunderous applause from the New York Times editorial board.
Rosa Brooks is, as I’ve said previously, a totally out of touch, ivory tower intellectual Progressive Liberal moron. She is married to a United States Army officer who is also a member of the Special Forces community. (Love is blind as well as stupid I guess) I really wonder if she actually has spoken with him prior to writing this drivel. If she did and he concurs with her, it’s time for him to retire from the military.
Since Donald Trump was elected, we have seen the troops morale start to improve. It’s little things, such as a military convoy flying a Trump flag. This, of course is against regulations, but shows what the “common soldier” is thinking. The last time we saw something like this was when Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter. I have heard stories of soldiers climbing up on buildings the day after the election and screaming “BANZAI!” at the top of their lungs. (The miniseries Shogun had just concluded it’s premier run)
I’m sorry to disabuse you of your moonbat hope that the military will remove President Trump. It won’t happen. If any president was going to be overthrown, it would have been the last one, Barack Obama. His contempt for the rule of law, the constitution and the military would have triggered a coup in many other countries. The rules of engagement he placed on our forces in combat directly led to increased casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan. Considering your position at the time, I wonder just how much you had to do with that?
So, with little fanfare, I dub you Anger Central’s “Chump of the week.” I am sorry, but we’re fresh out of participation trophies.

Rosa, I was one of those military members that took that oath to “swear to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States” and yes, it was fealty to the Constitution, and not the President; did you ever think about the WHOLE Oath ? : “I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.” In fact, since I am Naturalized Citizen, I gave almost of that same Oath to become a Citizen : “I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that ‘I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same’ “; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.” I also remember the Constitution Definition of treason:
The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offence is punished with death. So since YOU was in pResident Obama’s administration, I believe you know far more than I do about all the Illegal acts and Unconstitutional deeds over the last eight years, yet you are calling for the up thrown of our legally elected POTUS after just two weeks ?!? And you are also calling for the Military to make a coup to remove the office ? Sedition is a part of Treason… So I’m surprised that President Trump hasn’t already had you arrested (since if he is as “unhinged” as you believe, than he could use the Constitutional Law to just take you to a Military Tribune, and if found Guilty, have you excuteded the next day…) I really believe that he will probably do NOTHING; he doesn’t think that you are not anything worth of any attention to.
