Liberals complain Trump ruining Obamacare

Good day all. Over the last week, we’ve watched the GOP(e) Rino’s fail, fail and fail again in understanding what their jobs are. They were sent to Washington to end the travesty that is Obamacare. The fact that President Trump, and, allegedly, the GOP(e) congress were going to trash Obamacare, has driven many Proglodytes nuts.

In this case, we have New Yorker Magazine whining that President Trump is being successful in sabotaging Obamacare. Here are the whiny details by Eric Levitz of New Yorker Magazine:

Donald Trump has repeatedly assured the American people that their health-care system will collapse on his watch. In many instances, the president has framed this claim as a matter-of-fact assessment of Obamacare’s incurable flaws — in others, as a promise to kill the law by any means necessary.

In early April, Trump sounded the latter note. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the president suggested that he would cease paying out cost-sharing reductions — subsidies to insurers that defray the cost of covering low-income Obamacare enrollees — so as to engineer a crisis in the private insurance market, and, thus, generate more support for repealing Barack Obama’s signature law.

I don’t want people to get hurt,” Trump told the paper. “What I think should happen — and will happen — is the Democrats will start calling me and negotiating.”

Perhaps Mr. Levitz might want to review these subsidies to the Insurance companies. They aren’t legal. In fact, they are a clear violation of the Constitution since Congress did not appropriate funds for them. Obama just ordered the treasury to send out the cash. All President Trump is doing, is enforcing the law as written by the DEMOCRATS.

The president never shot his hostage. But pointing a gun in its direction may have been good enough. By threatening to stop paying out those so-called cost-sharing reductions — while also threatening not to enforce penalties on those go without insurance — the White House sowed uncertainty that chased insurers out of Obamacare.

You may want to pull your head out and take a look around. Insurance companies were bailing out of this disaster prior to the election, even when your lord and master, King Putt, was illegally shipping boatloads of cash to them.

In mid-April, several of America’s largest insurance companies descended on Washington to seek the White House’s assurance that Trump’s rhetoric about withholding the subsidies was just a bluff. Seema Verma, Trump’s head of Medicare and Medicaid Services, informed the insurers that it could be a bluff — if they agreed to publicly support the president’s health-care bill.

The insurers found little comfort in this exchange. Nor did Trumpcare’s sudden revival calm their nerves. To protect themselves from a diverse array of very-bad-case scenarios, many jacked up their premiums and wound down their participation in the Affordable Care Act.

What color is the sky where you live? As I just said, insurance companies started bailing out of Obamacare after the first year when they discovered it wasn’t a direct pipeline into the public’s wallets. All those mandates ended up costing them money so they basically said, “Pay more or adios Amigo!”

Over the past week, the number of counties with no plans signed up to sell Obamacare has doubled. Which is to say: There are now 38,000 ACA enrollees, dispersed across 47 counties, who have subsidies to buy insurance — but no one to buy it from. Those figures are likely to increase as we move closer to the June 21 deadline for insurers to declare whether the intend to participate in Obamacare next year.

I think your numbers a re a bit on the low side. There are a number of STATES that have had all their exchanges collapse into a pile of smoldering ruins.

This development will hurt nonaffluent Trump voters in rural America. And it may well hurt the GOP’s political fortunes in 2018 — voters tend to blame the party in power for bad things that happen on their watch. But in the immediate term, the administration’s various acts of sabotage do seem to be buoying the prospects of Obamacare repeal.

Barking Moonbat

I see you don’t get out much from New York. The overwhelming number of Trump suppoorters are furious at Congress. They hate Obamacare with a passion. Millions lost their insurance, perfectly good insurance that served their needs and were forced to buy really crappy, overpriced insurance that, in some cases, killed people.

The collapse of the ACA exchanges in Iowa earned Trumpcare at least one “moderate” Republican vote in the House last month, according to Politico:

The last insurer on Iowa’s exchange pulled out the day before the vote, leaving thousands without an option to purchase insurance. That troubled Rep. David Young (R-Iowa.), who had remained opposed to the measure throughout the talks. The vulnerable Republican felt compelled to vote for a replacement in light of his home-state situation.

It’s called representing his constituents your stupid Proglodyte. This guy ran on getting rid of Obamacare after all. In fact, the reason the GOP(e) was able to take over the house and senate was Obamacare. However, we know that you don’t know much about “Flyover country.” On your maps, it’s probably listed with things like “Badlands” and “Here be dragons, Rednecks and people with evil guns!!”

As of this writing, the GOP appears poised to pass its heinously unpopular plan to finance a tax cut for the rich by throwing millions of poor people off of their health insurance. If their emerging strategy of “sabotage, secrecy, and sudden repeal” works, the president will deserve a measure of credit for his ruthlessness.

And here we see the true nature of the writer of this column. A typical Progressive Liberal Elitist with no clue how things work. He’s obviously one of those who think that if more money is needed, we just pay farmers to plant more money trees. But wait! There’s more…idiocy.

But others will also deserve recognition. The authors of Obamacare bear some responsibility. The ACA has achieved most of its admirable ambitions. But by relying on private companies to voluntarily participate on the exchanges — and refusing to impose a more draconian penalty on the willfully uninsured — Democrats made their law vulnerable to vandals.

The ACA was not about healthcare or insurance. It was about control of the American people and economy by a ruling elite. Your very comment regarding imposing more penalties on people for not playing is all anyone needs to see to completely disregard anything you say. Like most/all Democrats, you are a closet totalitarian.

You constantly refer to anyone opposing and working to end Obamacare as “Vandals.” for instance, this remark:

Speaking of vandals, congressional Republicans, of course, merit special commendation: It was their successful 2014 lawsuit that provided Trump with the power to cancel cost-sharing reductions at will.

Do you know why that lawsuit was so successful? Because your bestest buddy, Obama, was outright violating the law that he signed. Obamacare was collapsing even before the 2016 election season and everyone with two brain cells knew it. It was never designed to work. It was nothing more than a power grab with the final goal of a single payer system.

Well, guess what? While the GOP(e) is made up of blithering fools, all those people you hate and fear, out here in flyover country, are going to be looking at them and in all probability, they’re going to be primaried. I know you think that the Democrats will “Sweep everything!!” in 2018, and usher in a new age of “Progressivism, Political correctness and Social Justice.” It’s not happening. Obama, along with Obamacare, wrecked the Democrat party. Now we’re just using the tools you moonbats gave us. It must really suck to be you

Good fisking. From the New Yorker above to professional journals (don’t even need to mention the rags of NYT, WaPo, et al), there is no hiding their hatred of Trump and anything conservative. They no longer couch in any kind of language that, in the past, merely hints at their dislike.
