Good day all. As the title suggests, I’m writing about a Hollywood liberal dirtbag. Granted, that seems a bit redundant, however, this one needs to be taken out in the desert and left for dead. I’m speaking of one Harvey Weinstein.
Harvey Winestain, (No this isn’t a typo), is a major mover and shaker out in Hollywood. He has, or had, the power to make or break actors careers. It looks like he used that power to molest young, up and coming female actresses. In other words, he made a lot of use of the “Casting Couch” we’ve heard so much about.
Well, the building started to collapse around him when several actresses decided to come forward publicly. There are many details from many sources, and I’ll start with the New York Slimes:
Two decades ago, the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein invited Ashley Judd to the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for what the young actress expected to be a business breakfast meeting. Instead, he had her sent up to his room, where he appeared in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage or she could watch him shower, she recalled in an interview.
“How do I get out of the room as fast as possible without alienating Harvey Weinstein?” Ms. Judd said she remembers thinking.
The fact that Ashley Judd had to even think about offending this offensive scumbag should tell you the kind of power he wielded, and obviously, abused. His antics continued.
In 2014, Mr. Weinstein invited Emily Nestor, who had worked just one day as a temporary employee, to the same hotel and made another offer: If she accepted his sexual advances, he would boost her career, according to accounts she provided to colleagues who sent them to Weinstein Company executives. The following year, once again at the Peninsula, a female assistant said Mr. Weinstein badgered her into giving him a massage while he was naked, leaving her “crying and very distraught,” wrote a colleague, Lauren O’Connor, in a searing memo asserting sexual harassment and other misconduct by their boss.
If Harvey Winestain had been a college student, he would have been crucified, probably literally, and he would have deserved it. Instead, his pals in Hollywood covered for him. For once, the New York Times actually did some real investigative reporting, getting actual named sources to come forward.
An investigation by The New York Times found previously undisclosed allegations against Mr. Weinstein stretching over nearly three decades, documented through interviews with current and former employees and film industry workers, as well as legal records, emails and internal documents from the businesses he has run, Miramax and the Weinstein Company.
Normally, I, like many others, hammer on the New York Times as nothing more then a fake news site. This time, they did their job right and have nailed this pig to the wall. Because of this, Hollywood is finally turning against him. He’s been “Put on indefinite leave” from the company he founded. Here are some details on that from Deadline Hollywood:
Harvey Weinstein’s self-declared indefinite leave of absence from the company he co-founded and co-chairs could become permanent. While not showing him the door yet, The Weinstein Company board announced this evening that they have retained outside lawyers and begun an independent investigation of the co-chairman following yesterday’s exhaustive New York Times report detailing decades of alleged sexual harassment and big-bucks settlements.
“The investigating lawyers will be reporting to a special committee of the board composed exclusively of independent directors,” the statement signed by Bob Weinstein and three other board members read. The statement also says that it is “essential to our Company’s culture that all women who work for it or have any dealings with it or any of our executives are treated with respect and have no experience of harassment or discrimination.”
In other words, stick the fork in, he’s done. The problem for this company, not to mention Hollywood in general, is how long they’ve been covering up for Winestain. By rights, he should have been shown the door decades ago, and probably criminally prosecuted as well. This didn’t happen for one very simple reason. Winestain is one of the “Special People” who can do pretty much what they want to and get away with it.
Meanwhile, Winestain’s legal problems seem to be mounting. His attorney of choice, Lisa Bloom, who smelled a major paycheck and quickly ditched what few principles she had, announced that she was no longer going to represent Winestain. According to Yahoo News:
A prominent attorney said Saturday she is no longer representing movie mogul Harvey Weinstein as he confronts sexual harassment allegations dating back years, while a TV news anchor lodged another claim of misconduct against the movie mogul and a third board member resigned from Weinstein’s company.
The developments, along with the departure of yet another lawyer for Weinstein, are the latest fallout from allegations against the Oscar-winning producer that The New York Times detailed in an expose Thursday.
“My understanding is that Mr. Weinstein and his board are moving toward an agreement,” attorney Lisa Bloom said in announcing her resignation on Twitter.
Lisa Bloom has an interesting pedigree. Her mother is the notorious Moonbat lawyer, Gloria Allred. Allred is currently in a tight race with the California State Bar for misconduct. Her daughter, Bloom, has a history of representing women alleged to have been harrassed by stars. Her taking this case originally made a lot of people question whether she actually cared about her clients or simply saw them as a paycheck.
However, never let it be said that Liberals won’t protect one of their own. We have another moonbat, and obvious hypocrite, who is trying to protect the major source of Democrat’s money. Here are some details on that from Fox News:
Hollywood kingpin and Democrat Party mega-donor Harvey Weinstein is turning fellow liberals into hypocrites as they join the battle to save his tattered reputation from claims he spent decades preying on Hollywood starlets, according to critics.
Anita Dunn, a key aide to President Obama, “counseled” the Tinseltown titan after The New York Times reported that the powerful movie producer sexually harassed Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan and at least six other starlets. And his attorney, Lisa Bloom – who is “tutoring” him on how to not act like a pig – built her reputation representing women who claim to have been on the other end of bad behavior.
Why am I not at all surprised? How can I be? We’ve seen this sort of thing coming from Liberals for decades. Liberals will ALWAYS protect one of their own. This differs from Conservatives and Republicans. They won’t hesitate to provide one of their “Bad Apples’ with the traditional, (In the west that is), pistol, single bullet and a bottle of whiskey. The latest one to screw up and commit political Seppuku is Representative Tim Murphy. According to Yahoo News:
Anti-abortion congressman Tim Murphy will resign from Congress following reports that he allegedly asked a woman he was having an affair with to get an abortion.
The Liberals have been trying to circle the wagons, bringing up President Trump’s remarks from 10 years ago regarding hands, female anatomy and other things in a very crude way. Trump’s campaign was nearly sunk by that, but he said it was locker room talk and wasn’t aware that he was being recorded. This meant nothing to the Liberals, or the Never Trumpers in the GOP(e), they tried to force Trump out of the race. To bad for them he’s made of sterner stuff then they’re used to.
There was also the major difference that Trump never used his position to force himself on women. Oh he might have used the old “Hey, want to come up and see my etchings?” remark, but he also took no for an answer.
Winestain, would use his position of power to get what he wanted. No meant nothing to him unless he was the one who said it. Very few women in Hollywood were in a position to tell him to go commit an impossible sexual act on himself, but it looks like enough did that his company had to pay out a number of settlements.
It’s long past time that Hollywood and the Liberal elite be held to the same standards they try to impose on everyone else. Destroying Harvey Winestain is a good place to start. Who knows? Perhaps the DoJ will pull their thumbs out of their ass and see if there are any prosecutable offenses here. Nothing says HA HA like throwing a hypocritical Liberal into a nice federal “Pound him in the ass” prison.
