Good day all. Last week, the defense in the Manafort trial rested their case without calling witnesses. At that point, the judge gave the jurors their instructions and sent them into deliberations. Friday, at the close of the day, Judge Ellis let it be known he had been receiving threats regarding the case.
Judge Ellis also ruled on a request from the Progressive Propaganda Agencies, (Formally called the Main Stream Media), that no, he wasn’t going to make the names and addresses of the juror public. Here are all the details from Fox News:
Jurors in the trial of ex-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort were sent home for the weekend, as the judge in the fraud trial revealed Friday he has received threats over the case and now travels with U.S. Marshals.
U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III, in rejecting a motion to release juror information to the media, argued that he’s confident the jurors would be threatened as well if their information were to be made public.
“I can tell you there have been [threats]. … I don’t feel right if I release their names,” he said, adding that because of threats against him, “The Marshals go where I go.”
There hasn’t been a lot of coverage over the weekend on the threats Judge Ellis has been getting. I have no doubt that the U.S. Marshals and the FBI are looking into this. They certainly haven’t discussed who might be making these threats. I’ve seen a few people say that it “Has to be conservatives because this is Trump’s guy!!!”
Actually, most of the people I know don’t care if Manafort is guilty or not. No, the ones who have the most to lose are the CommuNazis and their bestest buddies, the Never Trumpers. If Manafort is acquitted, it’s basically all over for the Mueller Inquisition.
If he is convicted, it’s possible Ellis may throw it out, or the appellate courts might do so. There has been serious questions regarding the handling of this and other parts of the investigation by Mueller and his crew of goons. This is the reason I suspect that most, if not all of these threats are coming from the Progressives moonbats and not conservatives.
Ellis, a famously prickly judge known for his colorful comments, has attracted considerable attention during the Manafort trial for his frequent sparring with the attorneys — particularly those on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.
Judge Ellis has a good idea that the whole Mueller Investigation was created for the sole purpose of getting President Trump out of office. The apparent prosecutorial abuse, not to mention outright ignoring ruling by Judge Ellis has made him especially watchful in this case.
The juror motion itself was filed by multiple news organizations – the Washington Post, New York Times, AP, CNN, NBC, Politico and BuzzFeed. They sought to unseal records in the case, including information about the jurors.
Rejecting the request about the jury, Ellis said “to [grant it] would create a risk of harm to them.”
In other words, some of the most left wing propaganda organizations out there. I have absolutely no doubt what they would do with the information if they got it, and what would happen. The Antifa thugs would show up and start threatening or flat out assaulting the jurors and their families. That would lead to an instant mistrial.
The judge also denied a motion to unseal all the bench conferences and sidebars, which have been sealed. Ellis said all that will be released to the public at the end of the trial.
This makes sense. Those meetings are done away from the jury so as not to influence them. If they’re released and one or more jurors sees them, it could taint the verdict. Of course, protecting the rights of anyone who isn’t a member of the CommuNazi party is not something the Progressives worry about.
As to what the verdict might be? I have no idea. The defense team feels positive, however that’s their job. However, the fact that they didn’t put on a defense seems to indicate that they feel that the prosecution didn’t prove it’s case. Considering that the “Star Witness” was given full immunity, and might actually have been the one who was the real criminal doesn’t show a good level of confidence by the prosecution. We shall find out soon enough.
