Good day all. The transformation of the Democrat party into the Totalitarian CommuNazi Part continues with the news that Former Federal Elections Commissioner and noted hater of the 1st Amendment is planning to run for a seat in the Kalifornistan Senate.
When Ann Ravel was a commissioner of the FEC under Obama, she moved to suppress all political speech on the Internet, starting with the Drudge Report. It quickly became apparent that as far as she was concerned, any political speech that didn’t benefit her master, Barack Obama was to be shut down and she actually tried to do it. She failed thankfully. Now this tyrannical Moonbat is planning to run for a seat in the House of Representatives from the State of Decay Kalifornistan. Here are the details from the Daily Caller:
The former Federal Election Commission member who sought to regulate the Drudge Report and other online political speech is running to represent a district that encompasses Silicon Valley in the California Senate, according to a Monday report.
“I care a lot about California, and I want to do things that are in the public interest,” former FEC Commissioner Ann Ravel said in an interview with the San Jose Spotlight. “I’m interested only in doing what’s good for the people. I’ve been doing so much in the area of campaign finance and it’s influenced me a lot.”
This totalitarian cow does NOT care about Kalifornistan, she only cares about crushing all forms of dissent to her Progressive CommuNazi masters. Rest assured, she will try to push through legislation shutting down anything that smacks of political speech on the internet.
Ravel served on the FEC from 2013-17, and gained a reputation for pushing new rules to regulate online political speech. Republicans said the rules were aimed at requiring anyone who posted political content online — including on social media and on websites such as the Drudge Report — to disclose their activity to the feds. She slammed the agency as “dysfunctional” toward the end of her tenure and proposed reducing the number of commissioners who were allowed to serve.
Since President Trump won the election, Ravel became irrelevant. She was kept in check by the Republicans on the FEC, otherwise she, along with the other two CommuNazis on the Commission would have pushed through their regulations. Among those who would have been affected, you can count tens of thousands of blogs, such as this one. Believe me, I would not have complied.
In fact, you could have expected thousands of sites refusing to comply and not a few people being willing to back up their non-compliance with lethal force. Sadly, Ravel is to high up in her Ivory Tower to understand that what she was proposing goes against the very fiber of America and would have resulted in a violent reaction. Cooler head prevailed thankfully and Ravels attempts at blatant censorship were stopped dead in their tracks.
Ravel maintained a close working relationship with President Obama, and she was briefly considered a possible replacement for then-Attorney General Kamala Harris. Former Gov. Jerry Brown ultimately appointed Xavier Becerra to the position instead.
Becerra is no fan of the Constitution or the United States either. I suspect it came down to a coin toss for Governor Moonbeam over who would do the most damage to the rights of individual Americans.
Ravel has continued to push online regulation since she left the commission. “We know that there’s a lot of campaigning that’s moved to the internet, whether it’s through fake news or just outright advertising,” she said in a 2017 speech at UC Berkeley. “There is almost no regulation of this … the disclosure that we expect as to who is behind campaigns is not going to exist soon.”
Someone should take a copy of the 1st Amendment and staple it to this progressive moonbat’s forehead…with real staples. She simply refuses to consider that what she wants to do is unconstitutional.
In her interview Monday, Ravel said she was more optimistic about enacting her agenda in California than in Washington. “To be in D.C. and to see how public policy is generally reflective of corporate interests, wealthy interests and doesn’t reflect the people … I know that California isn’t like that for the most part.”
Kalifornistan is a state rapidly moving towards Third World status. The state is bankrupt, and the CommuNazis hold total power in the state, and have moved to insure that there will be no opposition. In answer to that. Many people and businesses have, or are leaving the state. Ravel thinks that suppressing people’s rights is “For their own good.” As to her actually winning office, she is not running unopposed.
Ravel will compete against at least three other candidates to replace retiring incumbent Sen. Jim Beall, who is also a Democrat.
As for the Republicans? The party is dead in Kalifornistan and no longer relevant. Whether or not she wins office, you can rest assured she will continue her attempts to end Freedom of Speech. If she does win, you can count on her pushing a bill through, (And considering the current makeup of the Kalifornistan state government, probably successfully), the Senate and eventually getting it signed into law. Of course, it won’t held Constitutional when the inevitable court challenges are made. At that point, you can see this CommuNazi cow move to repeal the entire 1st Amendment.
