First the Washington Compost, now CNN

Good day all, about a month or so ago, some high school kids were verbally assaulted because a few of them were wearing MAGA hats. One young man, Nick Sandmann, had several screaming moonbats right in his face. His reaction? The smirk that launched a thousand memes.

What also happened was the entire incident was caught on video. It was this video that caused all the issues. The Mostly Stupid Media showed a clip that made it seem that Sandmann and the others were at fault. Then came out the entire, unedited footage. It showed exactly the opposite of what was claimed to have happened.

Sandmann and the others had been just standing there, waiting for their bus when a bunch of Antifa type thugs came up and started berating them and accusing them of everything under the sun. It also showed Nick Sandmann and the others basically taking the abuse and not engaging the thugs, other than Sandmann’s infamous smirk.

The full video was posted to YouTube, and since it showed the truth, YouTube kept taking it down. The MSM Moonbats also had the full video and understood perfectly well who was at fault, and it wasn’t the kids from Covington Catholic High School. Since this was 180 degrees away from what they wanted, organizations such as the Washington Compost, CNN, MSNBC and others buried it and continued their assaults on the kids as well as the school.

Unfortunately for the perpetually offended, the full video soon went viral from other sources and it showed that the editorial attacks on these teens was vicious, unwarranted and a flat out lie. Now the chickens are coming home to roost. The Washington ComPost is already being sued for $250 million dollars, now it looks like CNN is the next Fake News company to be forced into court. Here are the details from Fox News:

CNN is likely to be hit with a massive lawsuit worth more than $250 million over alleged “vicious” and “direct attacks” on Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann, his lawyer has told Fox News. Lawyer L. Lin Wood discussed his decision to sue CNN for its reporting and coverage of his client during an interview that will air on Fox News Channel’s “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.

CNN was probably more vicious in its direct attacks on Nicholas than The Washington Post. And CNN goes into millions of individuals’ homes,” Wood told Fox News host and best-selling author Mark Levin.

They really went after Nicholas with the idea that he was part of a mob that was attacking the Black Hebrew Israelites, yelling racist slurs at the Black Hebrew Israelites. Totally false.

Now you say you’ve seen the tape; if you took the time to look at the full context of what happened that day, Nicholas Sandmann did absolutely nothing wrong. He was, as I’ve said to others, he was the only adult in the room. But you have a situation where CNN couldn’t resist the idea that here’s a guy with a young boy, that Make America Great Again cap on. So they go after him.”

Wood filed suit last month against The Washington Post. The suit calls for $250 million in compensatory and punitive damages over the paper’s coverage of the confrontation, an encounter that went viral on social media. He told Fox News that the claim against CNN is apt to be even higher.

I expect because of the way they went after Nicholas so viciously, that the claim for his reputational damage will be higher than it was against The Washington Post,” the veteran attorney said.

Personally, I hope he hits them for $1 billion or more dollars. CNN and the others had the full video very shortly after it came to light. That they ignored it is probably going to blow a pretty massive hole in their usual “Public Figure” defense. That, assumes, that the judges hearing the cases rule that Nick Sandmann and the other are, in fact, public figures like President Trump. For instance, according to Expert Law:

Under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, as set forth by the U.S. Supreme Court in the 1964 Case, New York Times v Sullivan, in which a public figure attempts to bring an action for defamation, the public figure must prove an additional element: that the statement was made with “actual malice”.

Even if the Obama Judge does say these teens are “Public Figures” I have little doubt that their legal team will be able to prove malice.

Sandmann, a junior at Covington Catholic High School, became a target for outrage after a video of him standing face-to-face with a Native American man, Nathan Phillips, while wearing a red Make America Great Again hat surfaced in January. Sandmann was one of a group of students from Covington attending the anti-abortion March for Life in Washington, D.C., while Phillips was attending the Indigenous Peoples’ March on the same day.

And as the full, unedited video shows, Nathan Phillips, a known troublemaker approached the teens and started haranguing them, not the other way around as CNN and the ComPost made it seem.

Last month, investigators hired by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington concluded that the students did not instigate the confrontation with Phillips. Bishop Roger Foys, who initially condemned the students’ behavior, wrote in a letter to parents that they had been “placed in a situation that was at once bizarre and even threatening.”

There are actually a number of companies, web sites and individuals who are looking down the barrel of a lawsuit. However, there are a few others, Jaime Lee Curtis for one, who aren’t. Why is that? As soon as they had the full information, they realized they had made a terrible mistake and publicly apologized. Others have doubled down on their slander and are probably on Wood’s target list.

If things go the way I hope they do, Sandmann and the others will win at least one of these cases and the others will rush to settle. No doubt the losers will take this to the Supreme Court, however, that could also blow up in their faces. The justices may decide to review the original Sullivan decision and decide that they were wrong. If that happens, watch out! The CommuNazi Propaganda Department, aka The Main Stream Liberal Media, is going to get slammed from all sides and many of them will go belly up. Just ask the people running Gawker. Oh wait, you can’t! They were driven into bankruptcy after losing a libel suit. Seeing CNN go under for the same reason will make many people very happy.

***UPDATE***

The hammer has fallen and CNN is being sued to the tune of $275 million dollars
