Good day all. Alexandria Occasional-Cortex is the gift that keeps on giving, like a social disease. She is setting a new baseline for utter stupidity. Yesterday, she once again put both of her well shod feet into her mouth and demonstrated why she should still be tending bar somewhere.

What, pray tell, did she do this time you ask? She blamed the Republican party for passing the amendment that limits a president to two terms. Here are the details from Fox News:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., might want to brush up on some history after asserting, incorrectly, that Republicans in Congress amended the Constitution to kick President Franklin Delano Roosevelt out of office.
“They had to amend the Constitution of the United States to make sure Roosevelt did not get reelected,” Ocasio-Cortez said Friday during a night hall event with MSNBC with Chris Hayes.

Talk about your epic fails! Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected to the presidency four times. He probably would have only won twice if a little thing called World War 2 hadn’t been underway. He was reelected for the final time in 1944 and died in office in 1945. The amendment limiting the terms of the president wasn’t ratified until 1947, 2 years after FDR died.

This is not the first time Ocasio-Cortez has made factually dubious statements. For instance, in December of last year she claimed “Medicare for All” could be funded by $21 trillion in accounting errors by the Pentagon.

I really wonder how she earned that degree in economics. Somehow, I suspect it wasn’t due to her scholastic abilities. The United States hasn’t spent $21 trillion on it’s entire defense for the entire history of this country, and that includes the Civil War, World War One and World War Two. To rewrite a quote from a true student of History, Winston Spencer Churchill:
“Never was so much, gotten so wrong by one person.”
