Good day all. In the wake of the shootings last week in Texas and Ohio, the usual suspects have been screaming that “We must ban guns!” UpChuck Schumer, the Senator from New York, wants to go one better. He wants to ban the ownership of body armor.
The Ohio scumbag was wearing body armor when he went on his rampage. Recently, a blithering idiot walked into a Walmart with, among other things, body armor. (The latter incident ended peaceably, and it seems that, while the individual is a moron, he probably didn’t commit any crimes)
In the case of the Ohio scumbag, his body armor didn’t help him at all. He was cut down in about 30 seconds afer opening fire. This, of course, doesn’t matter to UpChuck. He wants to first “Control” and then ban private ownership of body armor. Here are the details from The Washington Times:
The Senate’s top Democrat says he’s introducing legislation to require the FBI to regulate the sale of body armor in the U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer said Sunday that the legislation would require the bureau to set standards on who would be eligible to purchase bullet-resistant vests and other body armor.
Allow me to guess who won’t be eligible. You, Me and the honest citizen behind the tree.
The New York senator says there would be exceptions for law enforcement and other public safety professionals.
Yep! As I suspected, Upchuck wants to ban the private ownership of an article of clothing that does no harm to people and does aid in protecting people from UpChuck’s natural constituency, criminals, murderers and illegal aliens.
The legislation is aimed at trying to curb the sale of body armor, which has been used by assailants in mass shootings. The push comes a week after a gunman wearing body armor killed nine people in Dayton, Ohio.
UpChuck obviously doesn’t understand how body armor works. I suspect he has been watching to many John Wick movies, where the lead character is wearing a custom suit lined with Kevlar. Allow me to provide a few facts, (Although they will fly over Schumer’s head). In real life, John Wick would have been killed.
While they do make tailored suits with Kevlar linings, they are hot, and will only stop pistol rounds and not much else. The rifle rounds John Wick was hit with would have blown right through the armor he was wearing. Even military grade armor won’t stop rifle rounds unless they have an inserted ceramic armor plate in place.
There are several states and cities that have banned passive defense systems such as body armor and bullet resistant glass. As you would expect, the body count among honest citizens who had used these tools has gone up. However, that means nothing to the collectivist totalitarian Progressive Democrats.
They are concerned that passive defensive systems such as body armor will slow their eventual goal of cleansing America of “Undesirables.” I don’t see this going anywhere but down the memory hole. Senator Charles Schumer should also be sent down the memory hole as well after being crushed in his next election.
