Good day all. This is still a breaking story. Over the weekend, a major Saudi oil facility was hit by a drone strike. Currently, there is no formal report of damages, but they appear to be extensive.
Because of this, oil prices as of this posting have spiked upwards by about $5 a barrel. It it believed that the drone strike came from Iran, and with their current antics, this is highly probable. If Iran has attacked the oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, either directly or through a proxy, it is a direct attack on the world economy not to mention an act of war on Saudi Arabia.
Currently, the Dow Jones futures, (A prediction of how the market will go today), is down almost 100 points. To top all this wonderful Monday morning news, the United Auto Workers have decided to go on Strike against General Motors. Today might be a good day to short the markets.
If Iran did launch this attack, then there has to be some form of retaliation. The question is who will do the retaliation and just how hard would Iran be hit? Personally, I’m all for knocking Iran back into the stone age, and that means reducing their infrastructure to utter rubble. Destroy their ability to ship food to the cities, destroy the water systems, burn their crops, wreck their energy facilities, in other words, do to Iran what we did to Germany and Japan, (Less the nukes), in World War 2.
I would also directly target the Iranian leadership. Go after them and their families and bluntly, end them and their bloodlines. It’s long past time to take the gloves off and throw the fear of God into these thugs. (Or arrange for the meeting between God and them) If the leadership of Iran is this stupid, then they need to know that stupidity is not a survival trait.
