Good day all. It appears that the paranoid hypochondriacs are at it again. This time we have the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, (Assuming it hasn’t been looted and burned to the ground by Antifa and Black Lives, (And no one else’s), matter) saying that we need to shut down the economy for another 6 weeks.
In an OpEd in the Star Tribune, (A newspaper not noted for being conservative), Neel Kashkari wrote that in order to “Defeat the Coronavirus” we need to order every American locked up for another 6 weeks. Here are the details from the Star Tribune:
In just weeks we could almost stop the viral fire that has swept across this country over the past six months and continues to rage out of control. It will require sacrifice but save many thousands of lives.
Really? And you know this how? By utilizing your medical training and many years of experience? Oh wait, you don’t have any of that, you are just a bankster.
We believe the choice is clear. We can continue to allow the coronavirus to spread rapidly throughout the country, or we can commit to a more restrictive lockdown, state by state, for up to six weeks to crush the spread of the virus to less than one new case per 100,000 people per day.
That’s the point at which we will be able to limit the increase in new cases through aggressive public health measures, just as other countries have done. But we’re a long way from there right now.
I would suggest you move to one of those countries. What you are proposing will do a number of things, none of which will have any effect on the China Virus. To begin with, it’s a massive violation of the Civil Rights of Americans, and we’re already seeing court cases moving to end the lock-downs. Second, it will take the economy and kill it off once and for all. Of course, that could be what you and your pals at Goldman Sachs actually want to happen.
This jerk goes on to quote all sorts of very questionable statistics. He fails to mention that most of the people who sadly died were the elderly and those with preexisting conditions that weakened their immune systems. Right now they are finding that a good 30% of the people who test positive are asymptomatic. That means they don’t have any symptoms and don’t feel sick at all.
The remaining people feel various levels of miserableness and then recover. Those that need hospitalization can be helped with the Hydroxychloroquine, zinc and antibiotic cocktails the French came up with.
Looking at this dweeb’s biography, he is a classic Deep State globalist. I have little doubt that his “Friends” at Goldman Sachs are telling him that what President Trump is doing is hurting Goldman Sachs. (Never mind that it’s generally good for America).
With all this, you would expect President Trump to fire back and you would be right. The White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany returned fire. Here are the details of that from Fox Business:
President Trump is not considering a national lockdown amid a flare-up in coronavirus cases countrywide, even after a top Federal Reserve official said a prolonged shutdown could deliver a faster economic recovery.
You know, I missed the part where stumblebum said that killing the economy will save the economy. He must have studied at the Robert McNamara school of doing absolutely the wrong thing every time. (Secretary of Defense during the Vietnam War, where the phrase “We had to destroy the village in order to save the village” came from)
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters on Tuesday that Trump is instead focused on mitigation efforts, including mask-wearing, social distancing and reopening businesses safely to “avoid the health consequences of a lockdown.”
In this I must disagree with our good president. Not that we should reopen, but that we must just bite the bullet and open things up now and get it over with. Because of this lock-down nonsense, the economy, which was the best in the better part of a century, came to a crashing halt. Most of the blame can be laid at the feet of the state governors of both parties.
“I would refer you to what Dr. Fauci said back in May,” McEnany said. “He said we can’t stay locked down for such a considerable period of time that you might do irreparable damage and have unintended consequences, including consequences for health.”
People are already going nuts over the lock-downs and are now beginning to ignore the orders of the governors. There is a virtual fight going on between the governor of New Jersey and two owners of a Gym that is in the process of being destroyed by Governor Murphy. People have had it and, thanks to the Blue Cities and States letting the Antifa and BLM terrorists run rampant are just shy of turning the Cold Civil War into a hot one.
President Trump did not order the initial lock-down, that was done by panicky state and local officials at the behest of the Democrat controlled media. (The MSM) Not every state did this and their economies are rapidly improving. No matter what this ivory tower bankster might think, locking down the country a second time will lead to flat out armed rebellion. Perhaps someone should send this putz a telegram care of his ivory tower office. It’s obvious he has no clue what is actually going on.
