The Great Panicdemic of 2020: The first indictments

Good day all. When the Great Panicdemic began, a number of governors thought it would be a great idea to force nursing homes to take in people recovering from the Wuhan Flu. Unfortunately, these nursing homes were ill equipped to handle these patients and said so. This didn’t stop some governors from telling them to do it, “Or Else.”

One of these governors was New York’s Andrew “Flaming” Cuomo. Thanks to his orders, which he’s denying and blaming on everyone else, thousands of people were infected and died. As you would expect, there has been demands for an investigation, and there actually has been one, and it has resulted in criminal indictments. Sadly, it wasn’t against Flaming Cuomo, but two people who ran a veterans home. Here are the details from Fox News:

The Massachusetts attorney general has charged two former leaders of a veterans‘ home where 76 people died from the coronavirus, alleging that leadership mishandled the situation. A grand jury on Thursday indicted Superintendent Bennett Walsh and former Medical Director Dr. David Clinton on charges of neglect, stemming from their decision in March to combine two dementia units.

The decision saw the facility pack residents who tested positive for COVID-19 into the same space as those with no symptoms, Attorney General Maura Healey said.

We allege that the actions of these defendants during the COVID-19 outbreak at the facility put veterans at higher risk of infection and death and warrant criminal charges,” Healey said in a statement Friday.

A couple of things. First, the Attorneys General of Massachusetts have a long history of railroading people for political reasons. Second, what Healey has done with these indictments is open the doors to charges, probably on the federal level, against several Democrat governors who issued orders to do the exact same thing. As to the charges?

Walsh and Clinton were each indicted on five counts for “wantonly or recklessly” committing or permitting bodily injury and abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of an elderly or disabled person.

So, when is Flaming Cuomo going to be taken into custody? Granted, it is New York, but he is the one who not only issued the orders to send patients to nursing homes not equipped to handle them, he also threatened the operators.

The charges come three months after a scathing independent report said “utterly baffling” decisions made by Walsh and other administrators allowed the virus to spread unchecked. Healey said Walsh and Clinton were the ones ultimately responsible for the decision to combine the two units, which she said led to “tragic and deadly results.”

Apparently, these brilliant individuals shoved 40 people into an area designed to handle half that number. The reason stated was staffing shortages. As to the truth of that, I can not say. The defendants also claimed that they asked for help from the state and were denied.

Walsh has defended his response, saying state officials initially refused in March to send National Guard aid even as the home was dealing with dire staffing shortages.

If this is true, then it could be exculpatory evidence. Of course, this is a Massachusetts Attorney General, and the last thing they care about is actual justice when a political statement is being made.

“We believe this is the first criminal case in the country brought against those involved in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Healey told a news conference.

Which I believe is true. Now I wonder if Maura Healey has considered the ramifications of these indictments with regards to the Democrat governors that did exactly the same thing as these two? She better hope that Dementia Joe wins, because President Trump is going to use this to go after all those Democrat governors who did exactly the same thing. If Flaming Cuomo and the others are taken down on Federal Charges, and they used Healey’s indictments as a guide, she is not going to be looked upon kindly by the Progressive Liberal Democrat Elites.
