Good day all. One of the rumors going around is that the Covid-19 virus, aka the Wuhan Flu, was actually a man made virus. Further, that the United States National Institutes of Health helped fund the development of the China Virus.
Now I am leaning towards the virus being studied in that lab in Wuhan, but that it escaped due to typical Communist incompetence. I’ve heard all the conspiracy theories that this was actually a man made bio-weapon and was deliberately released by the Chinese Government with the intent of hurting President Trump and the United States. I have not put much stock into either this being an engineered virus or that it was deliberately released…until now. Here are the details from Fox News:
Republicans on the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees on Friday launched an investigation into a National Institutes of Health grant awarded to EcoHealth Alliance, which they say awarded taxpayer funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China to study the risk that bat coronaviruses could infect humans, Fox News has learned.
House Oversight Committee Ranking Member James Comer, R-Ky., and Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, wrote that there has been “mounting evidence the COVID-19 pandemic started in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the Chinese Communist Party covered it up.”
There is little question that the CCP has been covering up any real information into the origins of the Wuhan Flu. Most people who understand these things believed that it was a matter of “Face” and that the truth, while basically harmless, was embarrassing. Apparently there may be more to this.
In a letter, exclusively obtained by Fox News, written to Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the NIH, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Comer and Jordan raised concerns that EcoHealth Alliance knew of the Chinese Communist Party’s attempts to cover-up the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and failed to act or to inform the U.S. government.
If they expect Fearless Fauci to actually tell the truth, I have some swamp land you might be interested in.
“If U.S. taxpayer money was used to develop COVID-19, conduct gain of function research, or assist in any sort of cover-up, EcoHealth Alliance must be held accountable,” Comer and Jordan wrote. “It is incumbent upon grant recipients to ensure their work is performed within the scope of the grant, advances our national interest, and protects our national security.”
“Gain of function” research typically involves modifying a virus to make it more infectious among humans.
This last sentence, referring to Gain of Function research is the biggie. Until a few weeks ago, I had never heard of this process, at least under this phrase. What most people would think, once they heard what this process does, is that the Chinese Communist Party was weaponizing the virus and turning it into a biological warfare agent. Apparently, this process was suspended in the United States until 2017 when the National Institutes of Health lifted the restrictions. Now members of Congress want to know if the China Virus was one of these “Gain of function” projects and if the American taxpayers footed the bill.
Comer and Jordan called for all documents and communications between the NIH, the Wuhan Institute of Virology and EcoHealth Alliance regarding the grant, as well as those resulting from any U.S. government-led inspection of the WIV arranged by EcoHealth Alliance. Comer and Jordan also called for a staff-level briefing no later than June 4.
I wouldn’t count on that briefing being on the date specified Representative Jordan. They will come up with some sort of lame ass excuse and not show up. Bureaucrats don’t you know.
Last summer, the NIH sent a letter to EcoHealth Alliance expressing concern over its relationship with the WIV and suspended its grant, pending answers to several questions, including about the disappearance of a scientist who worked at the lab, a disclosure of “out-of-ordinary restrictions” placed on the lab in October 2019, and allow a U.S. government-led inspection of the lab.
I can provide an answer or two. The missing scientist is probably dead or in a reeducation came somewhere. As for inspection of the facility by the United States? Here is he response from the Chinese Communist Party:
Comer and Jordan wrote that it was unclear, at this point, whether any of those questions were answered, or if the U.S. government-led inspection took place.
Of course they weren’t answered and if there had been an inspection led by the United States, we would know about it. (Probably by the CCP’s toadies in the media trumpeting that nothing was found)
In the letter from NIH to EcoHealth, first reported by the Wall Street Journal in July 2020, NIH told the company its funding would be frozen amid concerns that the Wuhan Institute of Virology may not have been following safety standards, and that EcoHealth was not properly monitoring the Wuhan lab’s activities.
The letter, which Fox News obtained Friday, claimed NIH “received reports that the Wuhan Institute of Virology… has been conducting research at its facilities in China that pose serious bio-safety concerns, and, as a result, create health and welfare threats to the public in China and other countries, including the United States.”
“This investigation is more urgent now considering the recent report that, according to U.S. intelligence sources, three researchers from the WIV became ill and sought hospital care in November 2019,” Jordan and Comer wrote, adding that the CCP “did not report any COVID-19 cases until December 2019.”
“Based on this new timeline, it is likely COVID-19 was circulating worldwide three months before anyone outside of China was informed of its existence,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, Fauci the Fascist was testifying that letting the Wuhan Lab develop what amounts to biological weapons is actually a good thing.
Fauci said it would have been “almost a dereliction of our duty if we didn’t study this, and the only way you can study these things is, you’ve got to go where the action is,” referencing the early-2000s SARS outbreak, which is presumed to have emerged from bats.
“You don’t want to study bats in Fairfax County, Virginia, to find out what the animal-human interface is that might lead to a jumping of species,” Fauci continued “So, we had a modest collaboration with very respectable Chinese scientists who were world experts on coronavirus, and we did that through a sub-grant from a larger grant to EcoHealth.”
No one has any problem studying potential diseases. What we have a problem with is modifying them to be far more dangerous then they already are. If this is the case and it was allowed to escape the lab through incompetence, then heads need to roll. (We’re looking at you Fauci), if this was weaponized and deliberately released, it’s an act of war. In case you aren’t aware of it, the United States does not recognize any differences between chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. The use of any of these on Americans can lead to the United States opening up a big can of Sunshine on whoever did it.
Fauci added: “The larger grant was about $600,000 over a period of five years, so it was a modest amount. The purpose of it was to study the animal-human interface, to do surveillance and to determine if these bat viruses were even capable of” infecting humans.
Not answering the question Fausci. Never mind if it was only a small amount of money, if one penny went to modifying this disease and it was released, either accidentally or intentionally, whoever set up that grant needs a good, deep anal probe, and potentially, prison time.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology, one of China’s top virus research labs, built an archive of genetic information about bat coronaviruses after the 2003 outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and has faced criticism over its transparency throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
China has promoted unproven theories that the virus may have originated elsewhere or was even been brought into the country from overseas with imports of frozen seafood tainted with the virus, a notion rejected by international scientists and agencies.
It’s this cover-up that is leading people to consider that this was an engineered virus and that it was deliberately released. Some of the odd things about the Wuhan Flu is who is targeted and how hard they are hit with the effects. The youngest and strongest people, children and young adults, other then getting sick for a while, were generally unaffected. It was only those who are very old or have some sort of preexisting condition that were the most vulnerable.
These people also tend to be the most expensive for a society to maintain. As I understand things, a virus normally doesn’t target like this. The Spanish Flu took out mostly young adults back in 1918, and was far deadlier. Here, thanks to people like Flaming Cuomo, Wretched Gretchen and other Progressive Blue State governors, it was the elderly who were hit the hardest, almost as if the Democrats knew what would happen and made sure it did. (Cuomo and the others should be criminally investigated for the deaths due to their orders)
As to whether or not the Republicans can get any answers, it depends on the Democrats. They were leading the charge that, first, the China Virus was nothing important, and when President Trump started taking steps, accused him of racism and came up with “Hug a Chinaman Day.” (How progressively racist that is too) They fought President Trump every step of the way and Govno Flaming Cuomo was even stealing equipment meant for other states. (And not using it either) Since any real investigation would make the Democrats look bad, count on them to try and cover things up, or blame everyone else.
