Good day all. Now that Fidel Castro is safely dead and his brother is all but out of the picture, the Cuban people are growing rather restless Sunday, July 11th, They made their restlessness known rather loudly. They started rioting.
For decades. The Progressives, Liberals and Democrats, (But I repeat myself), have held up Cuba as “The place we want to be.” Of course, they never bothered to ask the Cubans, many of whom risked their lives to cross the 90 mile stretch of ocean to get to the United States. When the Soviet Union packed up and called it a day, Cuba’s situation became really bad, since the money was cut off.
There was also the problem that with modern technology, the Cubans could see who things really are in the rest of the world. Now they are taking to the streets and demanding changes. The Republicans are cheering them on. The Democrats? The silence is absolutely deafening. Here are the details from Fox News:
Anti-government protests broke out Sunday in Cuba demanding freedom and calling on the disbandment of the country’s communist dictatorship, all while some of the U.S.’s most outspoken, self-professed Democratic socialists appear to be in lockstep by not acknowledging the historic events unfolding on the island about 90 miles from Florida.
Fox News has emailed Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Sen. Bernie Sanders and has yet to receive a response from any of them. As of early Monday, none have even mentioned the protest on social media.
These commie scum probably aren’t able to grasp the fact that the Cuban People aren’t happy in the Island Workers Police State Paradise. These are the people that AOC and the other Communists have been holding up as examples of the Utopian paradise they want to make America into. It’s inconceivable that the Cuban People might want to not be communists.
Thousands of Cubans marched on Havana’s Malecon promenade and elsewhere to protest food shortages, high prices and the coronavirus outbreak in one of the biggest anti-government demonstrations in the country ever. Police initially trailed behind as protesters chanted “Freedom,” “Enough” and “Unite.” One motorcyclist pulled out a U.S. flag, but it was snatched from him by others.
The American Flag was taken away from the protester? I wasn’t aware that Antifa had a branch office in Havana. As for the food shortages, don’t the peasants know that starvation is mandated by the state to save the planet from capitalism generated Global Warming? Meanwhile, the Maladministration, as usual, was caught flat footed and clueless on what was going on or how to respond.
The Biden administration was criticized on social media for appearing to have difficulty finding its footing on how to respond to the protests. Of course the State Department knew exactly what they should do. They blamed the Wuhan Flu. Senator Marco Rubio was having none of that of course.
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla, took the State Department to task over a tweet that blamed the protest on concerns over COVID-19 and not the worsening economic situation or the fact that protesters chanted, “We Want Liberty.”
“People in Cuba are protesting 62 years of socialism, lies, tyranny & misery not ‘expressing concern about rising COVID-19 cases/deaths. Why is it so hard for @Potus & the people in his administration to say that?” Rubio tweeted.
Many of the other Republicans are doing what they can to support the Cuban’s desire for freedom. The Democratic CommuNazis, never ones to care about anyone’s freedom bu their own, appears that remaining silent and being thought fools, was better then saying anything and removing all doubt. Speaking of fools.
Sanders, I-Vt., once defended some of the policies of Cuba’s previous communist dictator Fidel Castro.
Following his win during Nevada’s caucus in the 2020 Democratic primaries, Sanders was asked by Anderson Cooper during an interview on CBS’ “60 Minutes” why the Cuban people didn’t rise up and help the U.S. overthrow the Castro regime. Sanders replied that the dictator “educated their kids, gave their kids health care, totally transformed the society.”
Yep, it was totally transformed. From a state with a corrupt authoritarian government to a corrupt totalitarian government. As for all that crap about the free healthcare? You would get better care from a witch doctor. The whole infrastructure relied on Soviet largess to provide medicine and equipment, and when the Soviet Union collapsed, all the shipments to Cuba came to an end.
“We’re very very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad,” Sanders explained. “You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?”
Oh goody! People can read while they starve to death or are waiting their turn in front of the firing squads. And in answer to your question, yes, everything Castro did was bad. He was a genocidal mass murderer, but then all communists are.
It’s idiocies like this and other things that Alexandria Occasional-Cortex’s “Squad” have pushed that make them laughing stocks. When their prime example of how a good Socialist and Communist nation can work explodes into unrest and riots, their brains lock up and they are reduced, even further, to the level of drooling morons. As to what might happen in Cuba? Who knows? I do know that Dementia Joe and Kameltoe will screw things up. It’s what they do best.
