Good day all. A few days ago, an armed criminal came into a Subway sandwich shop and tried to rob the place. A Subway employee managed to get the gun away from the criminal, possibly saving lives, and is now apparently being punished for her good deed.
This took place in Rockford Illinois on September 5th. A scumbag came in waving a gun around and got the gun away from the walking diaper stain. The whole incident was caught on the security cameras and was leaked to the internet. Here are the details of what happened and the aftermath from Fox News:
A Subway restaurant employee says she’s been suspended from her job shortly after a video of her fighting off a robber went viral.
Araceli Sotelo of Rockford, Ill., thwarted a robbery attempt on Sept. 5, 2021, according to leaked security camera footage that was first shared with the public from RockfordScanner.com — a local news outlet that routinely reports on police blotters.
The video, which is timestamped at around 10:38 a.m., shows Sotelo fend off a robber who entered the store and walked directly behind the sandwich counter. As a scuffle between the two continued outside the employee-only section, the unknown assailant dropped his gun and Sotelo quickly retrieved it.
Sotelo shared a copy of the video to her TikTok account yadalove07 on Thursday with the caption: “A man came into my job and tried to rob me.”
The video is, to put it mildly, wild. I am assuming that Ms. Sotelo does not know how to handle a firearm, and that, other then clocking the dirtbag with it once, was basically trying to keep it at arms length from him. Most people, at least those who know how to use a gun, probably would have put a few holes in the criminal.
More than 8.2 million people have seen the video on TikTok. While tens of thousands of commenters commended Sotelo for her bravery, she shared an update on Friday saying she’s been suspended from her job following the incident.
As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. I have not been able to verify the accuracy of Ms. Sotelo’s statement that she has been “Suspended,” although it wouldn’t surprise me a bit. Something similar happened a few years ago at a local gas station and mini-mart just down the street from the Anger Central Primary Dwelling.
In this case, the felon brought a knife to a gun fight. The clerk was carrying his legally concealed pistol and when the criminal came at him, he pulled it. The criminal dropped the knife and ran out the door. The entire thing was caught on the security cameras, including the fact that the clerk did not follow the criminal out. While his supervisor and district manager were fine with what he did, basically not letting himself be murdered, the Corporate bigwigs weren’t and they fired him. I suspect this is what’s going to happen to Ms. Sotelo.
Instead, a spokesperson wrote: “We are deeply concerned about the recent incident at a franchised location in Rockford, Illinois. The restaurant owner and management are fully cooperating with the police investigation, and we request patience until that process is complete…Every restaurant is independently owned and operated. We are in contact with the franchisee to better understand the situation and assist as needed.”
I would say that the police are patting Ms. Sotelo on the back, the customers who’s stuff the criminal didn’t get are quite satisfied with her service and everyone who is hearing about the moves you seem to be making are wondering what color the sky is on the world you live on. She deserves a bonus, additional training in how to handle a firearm and three cheers.
