Good day all. Last week, United States Attorney General Merrick “Heinrich Himmler” Garland was raked over the coals by the Senate oversight committee regarding his sending out the FBI to suppress parents who are not happy with their school boards.
The whole business started when the NSBA, (National School Boards Association), sent a letter to the DoJ referring to parents who have been loudly demanding a say in their children’s education as domestic terrorists. Garland used that letter as an excuse to go after people who dared to speak out against the progressive plans to indoctrinate their children.
One of the things that has since come out is the fact that the Maladministration was actively working with the NSBA before they sent in the letter. Here are a few detail about this from Fox News:
President Biden’s White House was in discussion with the National School Board Association in the weeks leading up to the NSBA sending a letter demanding federal law enforcement crack down on the alleged harassment of school officials, emails show. The emails show the school board group drew on conversations with White House staffers in drafting the letter.
On Sept. 29, the NSBA, which represents more than 90,000 school board members, sent a letter to Biden asking his administration to address hostilities toward school boards as possible acts of “domestic terrorism,” claiming there had been an increase in the “acts of malice, violence and threats against public school officials.”
One of the ideas was to use the Patriot Act against the parents.
The NSBA letter also called for the Biden administration to invoke the Patriot Act, which Congress passed to deal with terrorism in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
“Coupled with attacks against school board members and educators for approving policies for masks to protect the health and safety of students and school employees, many public school officials are also facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the false inclusion of critical race theory within classroom instruction and curricula,” the letter signed by NSBA President Viola Garcia and Chip Slaven, the group’s interim executive director and CEO, stated.
The Fascist pig, Heinrich Himmler Garland was all to happy to to do just that. He issued instructions to the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s to start going after the parents who were making the most noise about the school boards ignoring the wishes of the parents. This led to the Republican members of Congress demanding to know what the Hell Garland was thinking of.
Garland basically tap danced his way around this and other subjects, and it appears that he didn’t even bother to do any research or investigations into the claims by the NSBA. He was called out by Representative Jim Jordan on this.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, aggressively questioned Garland about where the attorney general had found data showing the reputed spike in threats against teachers.
“I read the letter,” Garland responded, “and we have been seeing over time … .”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Jordan interrupted him. “So, you read the letter? That is your source? Is there some study, some effort, some investigation someone did that said there has been an uptick, or you just take the words of the National School Boards Association?”
“The National School Boards Association, which represents thousands of school boards and school board members, says there are these kinds of threats,” Garland said, adding that “we read in the newspapers reports of threats of violence.” (H/T the Daily Signal)
So basically, Heinrich Himmler Garland, being a good Progressive Secret policeman, just took the word of the Moonbats, Progressives and Liberals and unleashed his Gestapo agents. Fortunately for both parents and the Federal Agents who would have ended up walking into a buzz saw, this whole thing blew up in their faces and has pretty much come to a screeching halt before it could get started.
Now the blow back is hitting the NSBA hard and fast. Since their “Letter” came out, local and state school boards and officials have been running away as fast as their tiny little liberal feet can carry them. Many School boards have announced that they are leaving the NSBA and that the letter was sent without their input or knowledge. Now the NSBA has decided that they made a mistake and are apologizing. Here are the details from Fox News:
The National School Boards Association issued an apology Friday night for a letter sent to the Biden administration which targeted some parents who are concerned about their child’s school curriculum and said certain of their actions could be domestic terrorism.
“As you all know, there has been extensive media and other attention recently around our letter to President Biden regarding threats and acts of violence against school board members,” the NSBA wrote in a memo. “We wanted to write to you directly to address this matter.”
“On behalf of NSBA, we regret and apologize for the letter,” the NSBA said, noting that “there was no justification for some of the language included in the letter.”
I winder which part they consider to be unjustified? Would it be calling angry parents domestic terrorists and trying to have them sent to Guantanamo Bay?
After the NSBA claimed in its letter that some rhetorical clashes between school boards and parents may amount to domestic terrorism, Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memorandum that instructed the FBI to take the lead on a task force to address threats against school officials, including creating a centralized way to report such threats.
As I mentioned above, Heinrich Himmler Garland is now trying to tap dance his way out of the mess he created.
A person familiar with Garland’s thinking told Fox News that Garland and Department of Justice officials are pleased with the updated letter as it now is catching up to his statement this week in front of House Judiciary. The person added that the letter now syncs up with Garland, and that the attorney general is solely focused on preventing violence, not calling parents domestic terrorists.
Once again we see how the Deep State, Big Government Central Authority is walking all over the 10th Amendment, States Rights and the Constitution. There is simply nothing for the DoJ to do. They do not have any authority to interfere in what is a local matter. If someone is making threats, then it is up to the local police to handle it, not the Federal Government.
On Thursday, Garland denied claims that the DOJ would label parents as domestic terrorists, saying the “Justice Department supports and defends the First Amendment right of parents to complain as vociferously as they wish about the education of their children, about the curriculum taught in the schools.”
“That is not what the memorandum is about at all, nor does it use the words ‘domestic terrorism’ or ‘PATRIOT Act,’” Garland said.
Even Garland isn’t stupid enough to put that into the memo, but it is implied and I have little doubt the word was spread to the ones who would be going out to threaten parents. I have little doubt that the first thing they would have done was sic the Child Welfare people on them and have them grab their kids.
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., on Saturday called on Garland to resign after the release of the new NSBA memo.
“Merrick Garland mobilized the FBI to intimidate parents without legal basis and, we now know, premised on misinformation he didn’t bother to verify,” Hawley tweeted. “It was a dangerous abuse of authority that has badly compromised the Justice Dept’s integrity and Garland’s.”
I wouldn’t be to concerned about the integrity of the Department of Justice. They have none at all.
In a letter to Garland, half of the eight members of the Commission on Civil Rights requested “specific examples” of “harassment, intimidation and threats of violence” which Garland claimed as evidence for the need for federal intervention in parent protests at schools.
There won’t be any examples because it never happened. If anyone did such a thing, the local authorities have or are in the process of dealing with it. Now the question is, will Garland reverse his order, or will he double down on it and move on parents? If it’s the latter, it will not end well.
As for the NSBA, it should be disbanded. They have proven themselves to be nothing more then totalitarian scum who have nothing but contempt for everything this nation stands for, including freedom of speech. I have no idea how they are funded, but if it is by taxpayer funds, they must be defunded tomorrow. This “Apology” shows that they know they’ve crossed a line, and that everyone is turning against them. They should just go away and join their preferred nation state, the USSR, on the ash heap of history.
