Good day all. With all the news regarding the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse, the news that yet another Jurassic Politician is retiring from Congress. Senator Patrick “Leaky” Leahy has announced he will not be seeking reelection.
Leahy earned the sobriquet “Leaky Leahy” for his repeated leaking of classified information regarding things he didn’t approve of. Many times, these leaks damaged the United States. After decades of screwing over the United States, leahy has decided to call it a day. Here are the details from the Washington Examiner:
Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont announced Monday he would not seek reelection next year, leaving open a seat he has held since 1975.
“I’m proud to be Vermont’s longest-serving senator, and my time in the Senate has made a difference,” Leahy, 81, said at a press conference at the Vermont State House. He said he chose the location because it was where he initially announced his candidacy for the Senate.
I’m sure it bring back other memories, such as when he watched it being constructed when he was young.
Leahy is the longest-serving Democrat in the Senate and is chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He is the most senior member of the Judiciary and Agriculture committees. His retirement means Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will no longer be the junior senator from the Green Mountain State.
Great. Bernie is even more fossilized than Leahy, and about as smart as a fossil too.
Leahy was elected in the Democratic wave following the Watergate scandal. He is a vocal fan of Batman and has appeared in five of the franchise’s movies, including The Dark Knight.
Funny, I don’t recall seeing him in any of the movies. I gather his performance was about as good as his stint in the Senate. In any case, now that Vermont has an open seat, everyone is fighting over which candidate would be best to send to Washington. (It won’t be a Republican. They are all TransRepublicans currently in transition to full blown moonbat) The progressives would like to send a woman of some sort, or whatever is the preferred choice in the land of identity politics. (The most competent isn’t even in the running)
The Senate seat in deep-blue Vermont is likely to remain in Democratic control. But some national Republicans hope Republican Gov. Phil Scott, who won reelection by 15 percentage points in 2018 as Sen. Bernie Sanders was elected to a third term, is popular in Vermont. However, he has previously said he is not interested in running for Senate.
Scott is about as Republican as Liz Cheney or Justin Amash.
Scott has taken a centrist approach to governing, focusing on state issues rather than national ones. He has said he did not vote for former President Donald Trump and has challenged his party’s platform on some issues. He is the only Republican to win statewide office in over a decade and is seen as the only Republican in the state who could theoretically win the seat.
No, the TransRepublican voted for the Senile Pedophile and the retired prostitute. In other words he put hatred for Trump, the Greatest President in the 21st Century over the good of the country. Now, thanks to slimy, backstabbing RINO’s like him, the United States is in the worst shape it’s been in decades. I hope the loser is happy with that.
Leahy is yet another poster child for repeal of the 17th Amendment and term limits. Bluntly, he should have been jailed for his actions decades ago. He was forced to resign from the Senate Intelligence committee when he leaked a draft report on the Iran-Contra mess. According to the Los Angeles Slimes from 1987:
Leahy said that quitting the committee was “a suitable way to express regret and anger” at the unauthorized release of the document. He said in a statement that he had not intended to leak the report, which was not classified, but that he had been careless in allowing a reporter to examine the draft alone.
No, he was annoyed that he got caught, nothing more. He is just your standard Progressive Elitist from a state filled to the brim with Lilly white progressive elitists. Sadly, he will probably be replaced by someone who is also a Lilly white elitist who is also further to the left than Comrade Bernie Sanders. (If that is even possible) Good bye and good riddance.
