Good day all. A few weeks ago, West Virginia senator, Joe “Sell Out” Manchin, lived down to his name and sold out both his constituents and the American people when he backed Biden Mussolini’s “Build Back Broke Lite” bill. He was bribed with some minor deals for oil permitting and the like. Now the Democrats are about to shaft him as his reward.
The Build Back Broke Lite bill, originally and fraudulently named the Inflation Reduction Act is nothing more than more massive spending and socialist power grabs designed to impoverish the average American. It was not wanted by most of the people in West Virginia, since it also is designed to shut down coal mines among other things. Manchin basically committed electoral suicide when he voted for this drek, all for progressive promises to be named later. Now the Progressives are reneging on the deal. Here are the details from Fox News:
Nearly a third of House Democrats warned Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday against tying this month’s must-pass government funding bill to legislation spurring oil and gas drilling that is desired by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.
Seventy-one House Democrats penned a letter to Pelosi, D-Calif., warning that the bill’s inclusion will force them to seriously consider voting against the short-term government funding measure, known as a continuing resolution.
“In the face of the existential threats like climate change and MAGA extremism, House and Senate leadership has a greater responsibility than ever to avoid risking a government shutdown by jamming divisive policy riders into a must-pass continuing resolution,” said House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Raúl Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat who spearheaded the letter. “Permitting reform hurts already-overburdened communities, puts polluters on an even faster track, and divides the caucus.”
My response to this is simple. Go ahead. Shut down the government. You would be doing the nation a favor, especially right before the midterms. As for Raúl Grijalva, he has an opponent in the General Election, one Jeffrey Zink. I have no idea on where things stand in the Arizona 3rd District or if Mr. Zink has a snowballs chance in Hell of winning.
Signatories included not just progressive firebrands, like Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, but also leadership allies. The latter included Reps. Joe Neguse of Colorado and Debbie Dingell of Michigan, whom Pelosi has tasked with leading the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
The Democrat “Representatives” do not actually represent anyone in their districts, and never have. They are all part of the Deep State Globalist Uniparty and who only care about the voters a few months before the next election. Otherwise, their basic attitude is “Keep those dirty people out of my office!”
Schumer, D-N.Y., confirmed earlier this week that he would attach the permitting legislation to the government funding bill, which must pass by Sept. 30 or risk a shutdown.
“Our intention is to add it to the [continuing resolution], absolutely,” said Schumer.
So UpChuck will be able to say he kept his promise and the House will strip everything right out and send it back to the Senate. The Communazis in the house are using this letter as the first stages in backstabbing Manchin.
House Democrats say the decision is fraught with risk, however.
“Such a move would force Members to choose between protecting [environmental justice] communities from further pollution or funding the government,” the lawmakers wrote in their letter.
These losers don’t care about the communities. Since the installation of the worst president* in American History, Joe Bumbles Dementia Biden Mussolini, tens of thousands if high paying jobs in the energy sector have been destroyed by the policies of the progressive Liberal Democratic Communazis in his maladministration and in Congress. In other words these moonbats are deliberately impoverishing the people they claim they want to “Help.”
“We will be united in defeating the separate Manchin ‘permitting reforms’ that will accelerate climate change and pollute Black, brown, Indigenous and low-income communities,” said Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. “Manchin went back on his word to get [Build Back Better] done, and we owe him nothing now.”
Rashid is a Communist, Anti-Semite and a flat out racist. In other words, she’s a typical Progressive Communazi. She’s also terrified of her own constituents and has her own private security force to protect her worthless commie butt. Still, the voters in her district are very stupid and will, no doubt, re-elect her.
The permitting bill, which has yet to be made public, would set timelines by which environmental agencies must conduct reviews for proposed projects. It would also require the federal government to hold more leasing auctions for the right to drill on federal land.
Well, that flies in the face of the latest out of the Maladministration, where they are rapidly shutting down any further drilling and exploration on Federal land.
Manchin’s biggest prize, however, is provisions of the expected bill that would catalyze approval of a natural gas pipeline running for more than 300 miles through Virginia and West Virginia. The $6.6 billion Mountain Valley Pipeline was started in 2014 and is nearly 90% complete, but has stalled in recent months among environmental lawsuits.
“The Mountain Valley Pipeline is the only project in the entire country that can bring 2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day onto the market in just six months,” Manchin said in August when news of the deal first broke.
Oh this HAS to be stopped dead in it’s tracks! We can’t have anything that might actually benefit the American People don’t you know? (And my last gas bill was 3 times what it was last year for the same usage. FJB)
The opposition by House Democrats to the oil and gas permitting bill has put the pipeline at risk.
Manchin’s GOP critics say the senator gave up any leverage to get the permitting bill through when he agreed to vote on the $739 billion climate change and tax package first.
“Joe Manchin sold out West Virginia for a signing pen from President Biden,” said Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va. “He single-handedly restarted the Biden administration’s inflation-causing spending binge.”
Last year there was talk of Manchin bolting the Democrat Party and joining the Republicans. That idea is now, safely, dead. In fact, Manchins political career is also dead. It just hasn’t fallen over and been buried yet. He will not be up for re-election until 2024. However, as the people of Wyoming have shown, the voters are developing long memories, and I suspect the people of West Virginia have just about had it with Joe Manchin’s constant sell outs. We shall see how things proceed in this year’s midterm elections.
