Now for the political laugh of the day, Justin Amash offers himself as Speaker of the House

Good day all. The office of Speaker of the House is an interesting position. The speaker is selected by the majority of the house of representatives and is third in the line of succession for the presidency. Additionally, the Speaker of the House does not have to be a member of the house. Anyone can be named the speaker.

This has led to some interesting and fun ideas. When President Trump won in 2016, there was talk of appointing Felonia von Pantsuit as Speaker of the House, impeaching Mike Pence and Donald Trump and thereby making Felonia the President. The same thing was bandied about regarding President Trump after the 2020 tainted election. Now we have someone who I had hoped, we would never hear from again, offering himself up as a “Nonpartisan” Speaker of the House of Representatives. Here are the amusing details from Newsmax:

Former Libertarian Rep. Justin Amash has offered a truce between the two political parties in their search to find the next speaker of the House.

Amash was a “Republican” of sorts when the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, was elected in 2016. When President Trump took office, one of the things he did was land on the People’s Republic of China for all their unfair trade practices. This hit Amash’s family right in the wallet since their business were hip deep with the PRC.

He promptly turned “Never Trump!”, and eventually quit the Republican Party. He later decided not to run for reelection due to ill health. His constituents were sick of him. He then quickly faded into a well deserved obscurity. Now with the narrow win and the Republicans about to take control of the House of Representatives, Amash has decided he wants to be back in the spotlight again.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., faces stiff opposition for the speaker position, even from some Republicans.

The problem for McCarthy is that he’s seen as rather squishy. He is not in the same class as Cocaine Mitch McConnell, thankfully. McConnell threw several winnable elections this year for the sole purpose of maintaining his position in the Republican Party. McCarthy is more of a wimp, which is why he’s facing opposition.

“If neither party has the votes to elect a speaker of the House, I’d be happy to serve as a nonpartisan speaker who ensures the institution works as it’s supposed to — a place where all ideas are welcome and where outcomes are discovered through the process, not dictated from above,” Amash tweeted on Tuesday.

In a closed-door, secret-ballot election on Tuesday, House Republicans chose McCarthy. Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., challenged the bid due to McCarthy’s less-than-favorable alignment to the America First agenda initiated by former President Donald Trump.

This is in regards to the philosophy that helped make President Trump the Greatest President of the 21st century. MAGA, which the Left, RINO’s, Deep State and TransRepublicans fail to understand, means Make America Great Again. These groups do not want a strong, free, economically powerful, sovereign America. Most of them are just fine “Managing the decline” of the greatest nation in history.

The Freedom Caucus, which typically takes traditionally conservative leads on issues, found Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., throwing support for McCarthy, arguing that the division among Republicans could lead some moderates to join Democrats.

The support by MTG does surprise me a bit, considering that McCarthy threw her under the bus in her first term. I wonder what he promised her for her support?

McCarthy could face House and Republican Conference rules changes. The House Freedom Caucus proposed rule changes to chip away at leadership’s power and give more to individual members. This aligns more with Amash, a founding member of the Freedom Caucus, who left around the time he registered as a Libertarian.

One of the reasons that they want to remove some of the Speaker’s powers is San Fran Nan Pelosi, and her flat out abuse of the powers she had.

The House GOP will examine the internal Conference rules changes on Wednesday afternoon. McCarthy said on Tuesday the House GOP would consider the changes on Wednesday and after Thanksgiving.

What they won’t be examining is Justin Amash. He’s finished in politics, and his claim of being a “Libertarian” is laughable. He just wants to reverse all the work done by President Trump and help his pals in the People’s Republic of China get back to looting the United States. (And enrich his family and himself. Hey Justin? How can we miss you when you wont’ go away?
