Biden announces that Pandemic is over, but won’t give up emergency power

Good day all. This story is a few weeks old. As you may be aware, a couple of months ago, the idiot in the White House announced that Cornavirus panicdemic was over. When he made that announcement, Congress started looking at ending the emergency powers Biden has been abusing.

The original emergency declaration was issued by President Trump early on before we understood that the Fauci Bioweapon was not really that bad for most healthy people. When Biden was installed into the Oval Office, he extended the emergency and has been abusing them, basically bypassing Congress. Now the Senate is looking to revoke the emergency. Here are the details from the Washington Examiner:

President Joe Biden is embarking on yet another battle over the coronavirus pandemic, this time facing off with more than 60 senators who seek to end the national state of emergency over the virus.

More than 60 senators? Well, what do you know? Something that both parties agree on. Who says bipartisanship is dead?

In place since March 2020, the state of emergency grants Biden expanded powers, which he has used to push a host of policies. Tuesday night, the Senate voted 62-36 to end those emergency powers, with 13 senators who caucus with the Democrats joining all Republicans in support.

That’s just shy of the 67 votes in the senate required to overturn a presidential veto.

Just two months ago, the president stated the coronavirus pandemic was ‘over’ in a 60 Minutes interview,” said Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), who sponsored the resolution. “Yet despite all the advances we’ve made in our fight against the virus and the victorious declaration by our chief executive, this administration insists the national emergency declaration remain in place.”

Well of course the maladministration doesn’t want to surrender that power. It allows Dementia Joe to act like the tyrannical dictator he is. President* Bumbles Biden has been outright ignoring the Constitution since he was sworn in. (Pity there isn’t a law or section of the Constitution that would allow for the removal of a president for knowingly violating his oath of office)

The vote represents a filibuster-proof majority, though the resolution hasn’t been taken up in the House. Sens. Ben Sasse (R-NE), who is leaving to become a university president, and Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who is in the midst of a runoff election, abstained from voting.

I suspect it won’t be taken up by the current House of Representatives. Pelosi is still in charge and that politically tone deaf bitch is fully on board with Dementia Joe and his handlers usurping authority from Congress. When the new congress is sworn in, the bill dies and they will have to go through the process again.

Former President Donald Trump declared the first emergency, which Biden extended in February 2021 and February 2022. The Senate voted 48-47 along party lines to end emergency powers last March, but the Democratic-controlled House never took it up, and Biden threatened a veto.

President Trump declared the emergency on the advice of people like Anthony Fauci. This was before we knew where the Coronavirus had come from and who was responsible for it. If President Trump knew then what he knows now. Fauci would be in a cell right now. President Trump used his authority to clear away roadblocks for needed medical equipment, (That Obama used and never replaced), and streamline the development of the vaccines.

Conservatives argue the emergency declaration allowed for damaging lockdowns and school closures, as well as trillions of dollars in spending that has fueled inflation.

Which is accurate as far as it goes. The spending was passed by Congress, and was a stupid idea. The lock-downs turned out to be a complete disaster and states started opening back up soon after once they understood it was not going to work. (A couple never locked down, one of them was South Dakota)

Now, with 13 left-leaning senators on board, Biden’s grip on expanded powers is more threatened than ever.

Since I doubt this bill will make it to the House, it will be interesting to see if the New Congress passes it. If they just resubmit the current bill, word for word, it should go through the senate again without to much of a problem. With Pelosi sent to the knackers yard back bench, I have little doubt it will get a vote in the house. The question will be, how many of the Representatives vote in favor of it’s passage, and how many will do what they can to protect Biden?

“This is a pure power grab by Biden,” said Jenny Beth Martin, honorary chairwoman of Tea Party Patriots Action. “He wants to permanently keep powers that were designated for emergencies only, and the reason is simple: to increase government control over people’s lives. Any fair-minded person can see that.”

That has always been Biden’s goal. He has never met a tax he didn’t like or a regulation he didn’t support. Since his installation, he’s gotten even worse. (His deteriorating mental state isn’t helping matters)

The White House’s mask mandate ended six months ago, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention argued in May that Title 42 should be lifted, citing “current public health conditions and an increased availability of tools to fight COVID-19.”

Title 42 was outlawed by a progressive judge, District Judge Emmet Sullivan. It will further throw open the southern borders to the invasion forces coming up from Mexico.

Biden’s emergency powers stem from the National Emergencies Act of 1976, which was also used by Trump in 2019. Trump declared an emergency at the southern border in an attempt to secure funding for his wall.

President Trump used this for one reason. To secure the borders of the United States. He still had to deal with the courts and Congress, and suffered setbacks in protecting the United States.

In both cases, the power of the president to declare an indefinite emergency that can only be ended by two-thirds of Congress, especially in such partisan times, is ripe for abuse, argues George Mason University law professor Ilya Somin.

“The idea of an indefinite emergency undermines the rationale for declaring an emergency power in the first place,” said Somin, who is also a Cato Institute scholar. “Sometimes you need to act quickly, and Congress can’t do that, which is reasonable. But there should be a time limit unless Congress votes to extend it.”

Of course, the Progressives and the CDC types are all on board with keeping the emergency powers in place. It lets them get away with things that normally they couldn’t do.

Medically speaking, there may be justification for keeping the declaration around a little longer, argues University of California, Irvine public health professor Andrew Noymer.

“I’d personally like to get through the winter before we lift [the emergency],” Noymer said. “I actually think vetoing it is the right cal here, should it come to that.”

Noymer points to last winter, when the emergence of the omicron variant threw the United States and other nations for a loop during the holidays.

No, it threw the paranoid hypochondriacs for a loop. Everyone else quickly understood that it was no worse then a bad cold and actually hlped with the herd immunity.

He also points to complexities that could come with ending the declaration. Several COVID-19 tests and treatments, including Paxlovid, are approved under an emergency use authorization, which could be threatened if the emergency ends.

Considering that a lot of the vaccines are now being found to be not that effective, and in some cases dangerous, this isn’t a bad thing. It will force Big Pharma to actually run the drugs through the standard processes, which were never done. It would be very interesting to see what putting those vaccines through the normal protocols shows. I suspect we would see them rejected as unsafe and almost useless.

That would be one reason that the maladministration wants to keep the state of emergency. It’s to protect the money pipeline to Big Pharma and then back into the Democrat Party coffers. (Campaign donations don’t you know?) It’s time to end this emergency, strip the powers away from Dementia Joe, and review putting a time limit on these declarations in the future.
