Good day all. Chris Sununu has just started his 4th term as Governor of New Hampshire. He is a Republican…of sorts. He is also firmly in the Bush/Cheney wing of the party and at times it shows, such as his recent comments regarding the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump.
I live in New Hampshire, and I have voted for Sununu. He was the less worse choice to be honest, and if there had been anyone better in the 2022 election, I would have voted his RINO ass out the door. He was one of the Govnos who went all in on lock-downs and masks, although not as bad as Gruesome Gavin Newsom or Wretched Gretchen Whitmer. He is a never Trumper though and he let it show on NBC’s Meet the Depressed. Here are the details from Newsmax:
Former President Donald Trump will not become the Republican Party’s nominee for president in the 2024 race, as the “vast majority of the party” is looking for an alternative, said New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican who has said in the past he’s thinking about running for the White House.
“He’s not going to be the nominee,” said Sununu Sunday on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” “That’s just not going to happen.”
Sununu also predicted that if New Hampshire’s primary election were being held today and if Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis were in the race, he’d defeat Trump.
“There are very few people that are on the fence, whether they’re with him or not with him or whatever it might be,” said Sununu. “So, I think [Trump] just has his lane and then there’s everyone else, which is I think a vast majority of the party that’s looking for an alternative.”
I take it that Sununu wasn’t paying any attention to CPAC this weekend. Trump came in way ahead. DeSantis, Who I also like, was pretty far back. Now DeSantis is my second choice, provided he runs, however, I really would rather see a DeSantis/Trump ticket. It would set DeSantis up for 2028 and beyond.
The party, he added, will tell Trump, “‘Thank you for your service. We’re moving on.'”
It looks like Sununu is one of those who wanted to keep the incompetent Ronna McDaniels as the head of the RNC, even though she has screwed up the last three elections for Republicans.
“I just don’t believe the Republican Party is going to say that the best leadership for America tomorrow is yesterday’s leadership,” said Sununu.
Sununu is obviously missing the point. We have seen what President Trump could do, even with the handicaps he was operating under. Now we are seeing what the Democrats, through their meat puppet, Dementia Joe Biden, have in store for the United States.
But Sununu said Sunday that as for his own aspirations, he’s “not focusing on the decision right now,” as “there will be plenty of time for that.”
Ah yes, I had forgotten that the Bush/Cheney wing was looking for their next Jeb “Please Clap” Bush to lose the 2024 election. There has been talk that Sununu might run. If he does, then he needs to resign from office. (Governors term in NH is 2 years and running for president will take up most of his current term)
“I’m really focused on how we win, no matter who the candidate is,” said Sununu. “How do we win in November of ’24? We have to attract independents. We have to bring that next generation of voters more on the team.”
Well, you can start be taking anything that Ronna McDaniels thinks is a good idea and generally doing the opposite. She actually demanded that President Trump sign a loyalty oath to the party. President Trump’s response was very simple and to the point.
He also committed to supporting the eventual GOP nominee and said he’s confident that whoever that is will lead the country and will be able to deliver the win for the White House.
Well you damn well better, or you can become the second member of Hogan’s Zeros after former Maryland Govno Larry Hogan. He’s all but said he will vote for any democrat over Trump. Sununu isn’t quite that stupid and is “Keeping his options open.”
As I mentioned above, Sununu was considered by the GOP(e) as a potential candidate fro President. He’s even created a 501(c)(4) organization called “Live Free or Die.” (A play on the New Hampshire State Motto) However, he’s also pretty much given up the delusion that he has any chance whatsoever of winning any primaries other then New Hampshire’s. (And that is questionable)
The Primary season next year is going to be interesting and probably bloody for both parties. The GOP(e) flat out hates President Trump, (And most of the Republican base for that matter), and the Democrats have come to the conclusion that Joe Biden was the wrong choice to install into the Oval Office in 2020. It’s going to be interesting next year.
