Good day all. Yesterday, (Saturday), news broke about an Army Sargent being convicted of murder in Texas. In and of itself, this would not be a major story. However, in this case, it appears that yet another out of control Soros D.A. decided to abuse his authority and railroad the accused into prison. Within minutes of hearing about this, and understanding what actually happened Governor Abbott began the process to issue a full pardon.
Now the above paragraph doesn’t provide any real information on what all this is about. The short version is that Sgt. Daniel Perry was doing some side work as an Uber driver when he stumbled into a mob of Black Communist lives Only thugs. He was surrounded and one of the “protesters,” who was carrying an AK-47 rifle, pointed it at the Sgt. He felt in fear of his life and fired. The person with the rifle was killed and this is where everything starts. Here are the details from Fox News:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Saturday that he intends to seek a pardon for an Army Sergeant recently convicted of murder for shooting a Black Lives Matter protester during an anti-police demonstration in 2020.
“I am working as swiftly as Texas law allows regarding the pardon of Sgt. Perry,” the Texas Republican tweeted Saturday along with a statement on how his office will go about a pardon. Abbott said in his tweet that pardons in Texas must be recommended by the Board of Pardons and Paroles.
“I have made that request and instructed the board to expedite its review,” Abbott said.
The governor said he looks forward to signing the pardon as soon as it reaches his desk.
The reason for having to go through the parole and pardons board is simple. Texas law doesn’t allow the governor to issue pardons on his own. I suspect it’s a check and balance to prevent a crooked governor from selling pardons. As for this case? We have yet another corrupt Soros DA running amok and abusing his authority.
Army Sergeant Daniel Perry was convicted of murder on Friday for shooting and killing a Black Lives Matter protester holding an AK-47 after the gun was raised toward him. The Austin Police Department concluded at the time that Perry acted in self-defense.
Which makes sense. The BLM, like their Antifa cohorts, are a violent group. They were making active threats against people, and it looks like Stg. Perry, took them at their word, and was forced to defend himself. The Austin PD agreed with him, so what happened? The Soros DA Jose Garza happened.
Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, the George Soros-backed prosecutor who brought the case, has been widely criticized for pursuing charges against Perry for political clout rather than the merits of the case.
“Self-defense is a God-given right, not a crime. Unfortunately, the Soros-backed DA in Travis County cares more about the radical agenda of dangerous Antifa and BLM mobs than justice,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement to Fox News Digital following the Perry verdict.
From what I’ve been reading over the last few years, the Travis County government, especially their judicial system, is made up of hard left progressive thugs who have a long history of using their positions to go after their political enemies. This appears to be yet another case.
I expect the pardon to go issued by the end of the week, if not sooner. I don’t know what the actual process is. I also don’t know what effect this will have on Sgt. Perry’s military career. Technically he was convicted, and this may mean his discharge and loss of all benefits. On the other hand, if the pardon is issued, then as far as the state of Texas is concerned, there is no conviction, therefor there would be no reason to discharge Sgt. Perry.
What I do know is that it’s long past time for the State of Texas to start reigning in the out of control county Travis County and Austin City governments. I have no clue on how things work in this regard down there. If they can forcefully dissolve the County government, they should. As for that corrupt, power mad Soros D.A., Jose Garza? He needs to be removed from his office as soon as possible within the laws of Texas.

From what I understand he has to be Sentenced before a Pardon can be put into the works. You might see the Judge set aside the verdict.
