Good day all. Right after the end of World War One, or the “Great War” as it was called back then, the United States decided to do something unbelievably stupid. It passed an amendment to the Constitution of the United States outlawing alcohol.
This was called Prohibition and was in force between 1920 and 1933. It was a complete failure and led to the rise of organized crime, especially the Mafia. Once it was repealed, people returned to legally getting sloshed and have been doing so ever since. (Remember, do not drink and drive) Now it appears that the Biden Maladministration would like to bring back Prohibition, Dor our own good of course. Here are the details from Fox News:
President Biden’s alcohol czar says Americans may be told by officials to have no more than two beers a week. Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) George Koob told the Daily Mail on Thursday that the U.S. may follow Canada’s footsteps on alcohol guidelines.
Currently, American guidelines recommend men limit themselves to two drinks per day while women should only have one drink. The American recommendations are up for review in 2025.
No one pays any attention to these guidelines of course. As to where this stupid idea came from, all you need to do is look North.
Canada’s guidelines recommend only having two drinks per week.
Koob, who said he partakes of a couple of glasses of “buttery Californian Chardonnay” a week, said he was watching the Canadian “big experiment” with interest.
“If there’s health benefits, I think people will start to re-evaluate where we’re at,” Koob said.
How about you move there you whiny little girlyman and hook up with your hero, Castro’s bastard, Justin Trudeau. I hear he’s available.
Koob said there are “no benefits” to physical health from drinking alcohol and that he was “pretty sure” American alcohol consumption recommendations are “not going to go up.”
“So, if [alcohol consumption guidelines] go in any direction, it would be toward Canada,” Koob said.
This clown Koob then goes on to talking about diet and that booze has no health benefits. The last I heard, and granted, it was a while ago, there was some benefits from red wine. Needless to say, Koob’s stupid idea has gone over like a lead balloon.
Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls told Fox News Digital the “rich men north of Richmond are once again recommending what hard-working Americans should and shouldn’t do.”
“Biden’s beer czar has no business advising ‘guidance’ on alcohol consumption,” Nehls said. “This is who the Democrats are. They want to control every aspect of your life.”
“Two beers a week? What a joke,” he continued. “Let’s not forget that JFK snagged 1,200 Cuban cigars just hours before banning all Cuban products from the United States.”
As for the Kennedy’s, they have two things they are noted for. Bootlegging, (Booze during prohibition and cigars just before JFK banned them, and drowning blondes in the back seat of a car)
Distilled Spirits Council vice president of science and health Amanda Berger blasted Koob’s comments in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Dr. Koob’s comments calling for a drastic change to the federal recommendations on alcohol before the review of alcohol research has even begun undermines the scientific rigor and objectivity of the entire Dietary Guidelines process,” Berger said.
Does this surprise you? The Progressive Liberal Democrats have a long history of undermining actual science with, “The Science!!” Just look at the whole global warming and climate change nonsense they’ve been spewing for almost 30 years now. More recently, it was the fake science after Fauci’s bioweapon escaped the lab in Wuhan, China.
“For more than 30 years, the federal guidance on alcohol consumption has been no more than one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men for those who choose to drink,” she continued. “It is extremely alarming and inappropriate for a federal official to predetermine the outcome of the Dietary Guidelines and suggest changing decades of precedent without the benefit of the scientific review to support such a sweeping move.”
When has that ever slowed down the Progressives in their goal of managing all aspects of a persons life?
The potential new alcohol consumption guidelines follow pushes by the Biden administration that critics say put difficult regulations on Americans’ lives, such as proposals to limit use of gas stoves.
The Energy Department under that Nazi Granholm is also looking at shutting down ceiling fans. This just came out the other day. If you needed a reason to shut down the Energy department, this idiocy is it.
The Biden administration quietly revised its data analysis of gas stove regulations it proposed earlier this year, showing that they would produce fewer consumer savings than previously projected.
Try no savings and actual additional costs. While this has nothing to do with beer, it shows the flat out totalitarian views of the Biden Maladministration. They also like to claim they’re “Following the science,” but when asked for the data, they refuse to provide it.
People have been saying that Koob’s “Guidance” on alcohol is just that, guidance and suggestions. No one believes him of course. We’ve seen just how tyrannical the Biden maladministration has been since day one. First it will be a recommendation, then they will mandate it and you will be forced to apply for a ration card before you’re allowed to buy your one drink per week. A conspiracy theory you think? So were all the theories regarding the origin of the Fauci Flu.
Is it any wonder that Biden and his cronies are so desperate to keep the Greatest President of the 21st Century from retaking the White House? They know that if he gets back in, he’s going to bring in people who are competent and he can trust and they are going to tear through all of the regulatory agencies. Why he might even fire tens of thousands of bureaucrats.
