Good day all. Recently, the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, began releasing all the video footage from the January 6th protest. The few hours that have already been released by the failed RINO speaker, Kevin McCarthy, was pretty damning for the J6 committee’s narrative.
This is causing the Democrats a great deal of heartburn, and they are very unhappy over the release. How unhappy? Here are the details of their unhappiness from RedState:
Democrats are now beginning to deal with the fallout of House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) decision to release all the video footage related to the January 6, 2021, riot at the United States Capitol building. While folks on the right lauded the move as a bold step toward transparency, Democrats are crying foul and already trying to salvage their narrative that the event was some huge plan to take over the United States government.
Good luck with that Democrats. What has already been released has blown holes in the “Oh My God! They’re going to overthrow the government! It’s an insurrection!
During an appearance on CNN, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), one of the more prominent House Democrats who spearheaded the Select Committee to use the riot as a political cudgel against former President Donald Trump and his supporters, chimed in on the news.
Raskin is absolute pond scum. He is just another flat out congressional liar like Adam Schiffhead. He’s also very nervous over what the footage, which he may have seen, will show. Now he’s trying to get ahead of this and try and discredit the release.
Host Wolf Blitzer asked Raskin why he believes Johnson agreed to release the footage. The lawmaker responded by claiming that he is “clearly on the run from the extreme MAGA caucus, [Rep.] Chip Roy, and the strongest pro-Trump elements.”
Raskin continued, intimating that Johnson is close to being deposed as was former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
I have a feeling that is news to Chip Roy. Granted, the recent budget deal isn’t something most of the Republicans wanted, but they needed to get something done in order to get some time to really dig in. Basically, this is Johnson’s “Gimme.” I also believe that he was talking with everyone including Chip Roy. We will see what happens next of course. In any case. Raskin is blowing smoke.
I mean, he was only able to get through his continuing resolution proposal because of Democratic votes. And I think they’re saying he’s got two strikes of three they’re going to give him. So, he’s already looking at a motion to vacate. So, this was clearly an effort to placate the right-wing, which has been making this absurd demand for a very long time. And so now we have on a totally, unilateral, partisan basis, the Republicans caving in and opening up to the world what they allowed Tucker Carlson to come see.
As I recall, when he was running for Speaker, he made a promise to release the footage, excluding things that could be security risks, such as camera locations or other details. Of course, since you are a Democrat, breaking your promises and lying through your teeth are second nature to you.
Raskin argued that Carlson “did his best to torture out tens of thousands of hours of footage…which…went nowhere.”
The few hours that Tucker Carlson was able to release blew a massive hole on your narrative that the January 6th protest was an insurrection. It showed, among other things, the protesters being escorted around by the capitol police and being let into areas. Some of that has ended up in court and I think several cases have already fallen apart for the government.
The lawmaker then reiterated that he and his anti-Trump colleagues “had more than 1,000 witnesses” who discussed the riot with the committee.
And none of the ones people actually wanted to hear from were called or permitted to address the committee. Anyone who might have said anything that went against the Democrat position that this was an insurrection was blocked from testifying.
Even more hilarious is that Raskin claimed that releasing the footage is “truly a security risk,” and that House Republicans are somehow “giving a diagram to future insurrectionists and terrorists and anybody who wants to invade our body.”
First, the Capitol building is well over 150 years old. The blueprints and architectural drawings have been in the public record for a very long time. The few actual security updates that might help real attackers aren’t going to be released. This includes the secret underground bunker you had built after the location of the Greenbrier bunker was discovered and published.
Second, your arrogance is on full display with that comment, “Our body.” Like all of the Deep State Uniparty clowns, you’ve forgotten that the capitol is the “People’s building” and that you are there to represent us, not the other way around. People like you are the reason we need to establish a constitutional amendment limiting the terms of representatives and senators.
The real issue for Raskin is the same as for Democrats, and their close friends and allies in the elite media: The narrative is breaking down. Even the little bit of the new footage that I have seen so far shows that J6 was no “insurrection.” I believe that when all of the video recordings are published, people will see that most of those who were at the Capitol building were not violent. Most were strolling through the building, with Capitol Police officers doing the same.
Everyone knows that some of those present at the building engaged in violence. We have already seen that footage ad nauseam, thanks to Raskin, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and others seeking to weaponize the incident for political expediency. But now, people can see what the anti-Trumpers didn’t want us to see, which is what is getting Raskin’s goat. Too bad for them, right?
When Tucker Carlson was given some access to the videos, he started tearing apart the entire narrative. It was so damaging that Lachlan Murdoch, who is running Fox and is a Deep Stater of the first order, fired Carlson and shut down any further release of the J6 videos. Former Speaker and complete failure, Kevin “Charlie” McCarthy canceled any further releases of the videos.
Now we have a speaker who is not part of the Deep State, is not a member of the Uniparty and isn’t a professional politician. He supports President Trump and has questioned the tainted election of 2020. Basically, he is an Ultra MAGA Deplorable.
I have the suspicion that he doesn’t care if he’s in office two years from now. He’s there now and he’s going to do a Trump and try and keep as many of his promises, in this case to the House GOP Caucus, as he can. It’s going to take months for people to process all the videos, but when it’s finally done, look for the proverbial boom to be lowered on people like Raskin. Who knows? It isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that Raskin, Schiffhead, Cheney and others might end up facing a jury of their own.
