Islamic Terrorist attack in New Orleans

Good day all. This is a breaking story. At about 3:00 AM, January 1, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, an Islamic Terrorist drove a pickup truck into a crowd of people injuring dozens and killing ten. The terrorist then climbed out of the truck and opened fire. Police returned fire and terminated the terrorist with extreme prejudice.

This story, as I mentioned is still developing and without question, information will change and be updated. What is known is that the terrorist is Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42 and he is apparently a U.S. Citizen. Here are the details as of new from Fox News:

At least 10 people are dead and dozens injured after a driver plowed a pickup truck into a crowd of New Year’s revelers in New Orleans on Wednesday.

Police sources identified the driver as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar of Texas. He reportedly jumped out of the vehicle and opened fire on police after hitting the crowd early Wednesday morning. The brief shootout ended with the suspect dead at the scene, authorities confirmed. Police say 35 people have been transported to five hospitals across the city after suffering injuries from the attack.

Nice shooting on the part of the New Orleans Police Department. Now this is where things get foggy.

Sources say there was an ISIS flag inside Jabbar’s vehicle during the attack. Authorities are still seeking up to five other individuals in relation to the attack.

“The subject has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen from Texas. He was driving a Ford pickup truck, which appears to have been rented and we are working to confirm how the subject came into possession of the vehicle. An ISIS flag was located in the vehicle and the FBI is working to determine the subject’s potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organizations. Weapons and a potential IED were located in the subject’s vehicle. Other potential IEDs were also located in the French Quarter,” the FBI said in a statement.

First, as of now, I don’t trust the FBI to find a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts. Second, the fact that they are looking for bombs in the French quarter is, frankly, scary. It also turns out that this dead criminal had served in the United States Army.

“What I can tell you, the person was an Army veteran,” Duncan said. “We believe he was [an] honorable discharge. But we’re working through this process to figure out all this information.

I look forward to seeing what his MOS was and where he served. This dirtbag was radicalized somewhere and we need to find out where. There are also reports that he wasn’t acting alone. Here are some of those details from the New York Post:

New Orleans terror suspect Shamsud Din Jabbar may not have acted alone, the FBI confirmed in a startling update Wednesday afternoon.

“We do not believe that Jabbar was solely responsible,” the bureau told reporters during a news conference.

Law enforcement sources told The Post that investigators are looking into the possibility of someone who helped fix or enable the carnage.

“We are aggressively running down every lead, including those of his known associates,” they added, calling on the public to reach out if they have had any interactions with the 42-year-old Texas native, who officials say served in the military for 10 years.

There was also a report of a Cybertruck exploding in Las Vegas outside of the Trump Towers. Now this could have been a simple technical failure with the on board battery. However, I’ve never heard of one exploding before. Burning like napalm, yes, but not detonating. There is a video of this occuring that was posted on Twitter.

President Trump has commented, and I have no doubt he is being briefed since he is going to be sworn into office in 19 days. As for Joe Biden?

President Biden says he has been “continually briefed” on the attack since early Wednesday morning and is in contact with Secretary of Homeland Security Ali Mayorkas and other top administration officials.

“I will continue to receive updates throughout the day, and I will have more to say as we have further information to share. In the meantime, my heart goes out to the victims and their families who were simply trying to celebrate the holiday. There is no justification for violence of any kind, and we will not tolerate any attack on any of our nation’s communities,” Biden said in a statement.

I wonder who actually wrote that? It certainly wasn’t Biden. I doubt he’s even aware of what happened. As to his being briefed? I’m sure they are telling him things, but I doubt he’s paying any attention.

Now people will be asking how this happened. The New Orleans Police department isn’t noted for being the best in the country. The officers on site responded immediately when the terrorist opened fire. I have seen a report that two officer have been injured, but the report didn’t say if it was from the truck or if they had been shot.

Now some may be wondering how this terrorist got through with a pickup truck. Normally, there would have been barriers in place, but according to the Fox News story, the original barriers weren’t doing the job and were in the process of being replaced.

Another question is why no one fired on the truck when it started running people down? The answer to that is simple. First, I doubt many people there were carrying. Second, it would have happened so fast that no one would have had time to do anything. This isn’t like the time in France when a terrorist used a dump truck. That attack took several minutes and an officer did open fire on the vehicle.

Looking at pictures of the scene, it looks like the terrorist may have lost control and hit a parked crane. Judging from the damage, he hit that thing at a fair rate of speed. You can also see bullet holes in the driver side door and window. As to whether those happened before he jumped out or after. I can’t say. He certainly didn’t make it far from the truck.

Now we must wait for additional information. I don’t trust the Biden Maladministration to do anything but lie, deny and hide information. We may have to wait until Pam Bondi and Kash Patel have been confirmed and take over the DoJ and FBI before we get any real information. In the meantime, please remember the victims of yet another Islamic terrorist attack. This should NOT have happened.
