Good day all. A little something different from all the tariff talk. David Hogg, who is now helping destroy the Democrat Party originally helped found a gun ban group called “March for our lives.” They became very good at collecting money from the usual Leftists who demand that Americans be disarmed, forcibly if necessary.
In the case of March for Our Lives, this group was founded by students from Parkland High School after a lunatic shot the place up. They blamed the existence of privately owned firearms instead of the actual criminal and the abject cowardice of the Broward County Sheriff’s Department.
After the initial wheelbarrow loads of Progressive cash was thrown at them, and they began their attempts to overturn the 2nd Amendment, things started to slow down. March For Our Lives was very loud and popular at first, but then came things like the “Summer of Fiery Love” and “Defund the Police” movements with the concurrent increase in crime. Add to that the borders being thrown open by the Biden Maladministration and millions of criminal aliens flooding into the country.
People who had never owned a gun decided that, “Hell, no cops anywhere? We need to get strapped!” Gun sales skyrocketed, especially during the Panicdemic. All these people who now were arming up realized that helping groups that wanted them disarmed was a really stupid idea and they shut off the money. Now the small groups like March for Our Lives are going broke. Here are the details from The Reload:
March For Our Lives is slashing its employees and appointing a new leader.
The gun-control group announced it would cut ties with 13 of its 16 full-time staffers last week. It also named a new executive director. Jaclyn Corin, a 24-year-old Parkland survivor and group co-founder, will take the reins as the organization attempts to navigate bumpy terrain in the wake of the 2024 election.
“We are facing financial challenges as an organization, not unlike many nonprofit advocacy organizations in this time,” Corin told The 19th. “I am sure things would look differently with a different outcome of the election, but these are the systems and circumstances in which we have to make adjustments based on the financial situation we find ourselves in. It is incredibly unfortunate that these cuts have to happen.”
Now I’m wondering if this organization was getting money from one of the slush funds that Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency have identified and shut down. It sure sounds like it. There have been a large number of NGO’s and groups like this one that suddenly found themselves with empty bank accounts.
The firings are a significant setback for one of America’s most prominent gun-control groups. It likely limits any impact the group might have between now and next year’s midterm elections. It’s also the culmination of the group’s long decline after a meteoric rise.
This group was good at two things. Waving the bloody shirt and making rich liberals feel guilty. They are also extremely hard left with serious problems with things like the Constitution, personal responsibility and reality. For instance, gun buybacks.
Since then, March For Our Lives has been among the country’s most aggressive gun-control advocacy groups. In 2019, it proposed a sweeping new policy platform that would buyback upwards of 100 million guns.
“In order to operationalize new laws like an assault weapons ban and a higher standard of gun ownership, we need to implement a federal gun buy-back program that facilitates compliance with new laws and provides economic incentives for gun owners to responsibly reduce their gun inventory,” the plan said. “All government-purchased gun inventory would be destroyed. The intended goal: a reduction of our domestic firearm stock by at least 30%. To be clear: the implementation of an assault weapons ban should be a full mandatory buy-back of assault weapons, but we would also create programs to encourage voluntary civilian reduction of handguns and other firearms.”
This should tell you just how out of touch these twerps were and are. If the Government had actually passed something like this and tried to enforce it, the shooting would have started almost immediately. (I won’t bother going into how the government can buy back something they never owned) That is just how out of touch with reality these idiots are.
Now the reality of where things are heading in this country is starting to hit home for them. The money is gone. No one is listening to them any longer. Their allies in the Democrat Party are worried about their own asses and don’t have the time or resources to throw at groups like March For Our Lives. I suspect this group will be shutting down within a year. Good riddance to them. Hopefully, they will have successful careers in the fast food industry.
