Good day all. In 2018 a complete unknown managed to blow defeat an incumbent in for a house seat in New York’s 14th District. With that, one of the dumbest members of Congress took office and made a name for herself for achieving nothing. That person is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka Alexandria Occasional-Cortex, aka AOC.
AOC has made a name for herself as pretty much of a dumb communist. Her major claim to fame was the “Green New Deal” which she claimed was based on the failed New Deal shoved down America’s throats by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She also cost her district and the state of New York thousand of high paying jobs when she helped scuttle a plan by Amazon to open a new headquarters in New York.
Despite all this, AOC has managed to be reelected three more times, proving that the voters in her district are even dumber then she is. However, it looks like the tide may be turning against her. One problem with AOC is that she has forgotten, if she ever knew, former Speaker Thomas “Tip” O’Neil’s first rule of politics. All politics is local. AOC has been ignoring her districts issues and her constituents appear to finally be considering a change. Here are the details from the New York Post:
Frustration with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has reached a breaking point on her home turf, with fed up Queens and Bronx constituents telling The Post they’re sick and tired of being second fiddle to the jet-setting socialist’s primary focus — herself.
Her district offices in the Bronx and Queens offer little to justify the $1.9 million the congresswoman gets to run them — one is only open a single weekday and the other is closed on Fridays, with phones that go unanswered and constituents urged to discuss their problems “by appointment only.”
I wonder what would happen to someone who calls her office in Washington directly or just shows up looking for assistance or to have their concerns addressed? My guess? “SECURITY!!!” It’s obvious she doesn’t give a tinkers damn about the people who, stupidly, put her in office. As far as she’s concerned, they served their purpose on election day and can be ignored.
AOC’s town halls used to be monthly events – now are only held once in a blue moon, there’s virtually no way to get in a question, and sometimes she only phones in and doesn’t bother coming in person, galled constituents said.
“Phoning it in” generally refers to an actor who just shows up for a paycheck and doesn’t really put themselves out for the role. Obviously, AOC has updated the definition a bit.
“This woman has done nothing for the community she was once again elected to serve,” said Lauro Vazquez of Woodside, Queens. Vazquez echoed a sentiment heard in all corners of AOC’s bi-borough district — that they and the “mundane” issues they care about — jobs, public safety, traffic — are an afterthought for a representative with her eyes on the national stage. The perception turned into a reality last week at a town hall in Jackson Heights, when AOC gave a packed auditorium of people just under an hour of face time before dashing for the exit to an idling SUV.
Apparently, she answered a grand total of six questions before she bolted for her next event, complaining about President Trump.
“Of course, it’s cancelled — too busy jet setting around on private jets screaming about ‘oligarchs’ and setting up her bid for a POTUS run,” said Vazquez. “This woman has done nothing for the community she was once again elected to serve.”
That is the latest bit of idiocy from AOC. She and Comrade Bernie Sanders spent a few weeks jetting around the country, in a private jet no less, screaming about the oligarchy. The problem with those two is that they totally failed to understand that these days, they ARE the oligarchy. There have also been “Reports” that AOC wants to run for President of the United States.
Personally, I’m torn between having her run and forcing the Democrat Elites to figure out a way to destroy her, or having her end up as the Democrat Nominee and getting her head handed to her. She is totally out of touch with most of the Country and always has been. She’s also as dumb if not dumber then Kamala Harris.
Many pointed to a failure not just to bring economic development to her district — but to sabotage it, like killing the deal to bring an Amazon headquarters to Queens after she first got elected. It would’ve created 25,000 jobs and was backed by most of her constituents.
“She killed the Amazon deal, ghosted her district, and thinks viral TikToks make her a legislator,” said Republican mayoral candidate and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa.
The New York Post article goes on to list all the things AOC doesn’t do for her constituents while literally looking out for herself. AOC has been running around since her first day in office complaining about illegal aliens being rounded up. She’s doubled down on this since President Trump’s return to office and his unleashing Tom Homan and ICE.
One of the things she did was put out a video for illegals on how to avoid ICE. That led Tom Homan to tell her she was crossing a line and could be prosecuted. AOC, being dumb as a stump, saw that as a challenge. Then three other Democrat House members tried to storm an ICE facility and at least one of them is looking at prosecution. AOC’s answer to that? More threats.
One of the main problems in her district is crime. While she is a Federal office holder, she should be using her influence to try and get the resources freed up, federal, state and local to help her constituents. Has she? Of course not. Finally, the locals took things into their own hands (In a lawful way). Here are a few details on that mess from Fox News:
A well-known local brothel near two schools in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s red-light district has been shut down by the NYPD after months of advocacy by local leaders who say the progressive lawmaker did nothing to help them close it.
Nicknamed the “bodega brothel” by locals, the establishment was operating on the second floor of a local bodega just off the Roosevelt Avenue strip in Queens, where prostitutes are known for openly soliciting sex on sidewalks, local Democratic district leader Hiram Monserrate told Fox News Digital.
The bodega is located across the street from two public schools, and students have been forced to walk past the sex workers outside the brothel on their way to and from class for months. An hour before Ocasio-Cortez’s town hall earlier this month, Fox News Digital observed children walking by with their parents as three women stood outside.
Monserrate said he and local groups have called on Ocasio-Cortez and other elected officials to advocate for the shuttering of the brothels, but few have helped.
“AOC did not play a role at all,” said Monserrate, who was chased out of a local square in October because he opposed protesters advocating for prostitution to be allowed in the neighborhood.
This is something that a representative should be dealing with. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez simply couldn’t be bothered to look into the issue and see what she could do. Even if she didn’t have the time herself, she does have staffers who are supposed to take care of things like this and if necessary, have AOC make a few calls and apply pressure or seek assistance from the appropriate agencies.
Now the records show that AOC’s elections were not big. Most of the eligible voters in her district never came out to do their civic duty. I have a feeling that, with the right candidate to oppose her, (Preferably not a Democrat, but it is a deep blue district), she could end up being shown the door in 2026. If that happens, the Democrat Party will happily abandon her and make sure that any presidential run she’s considering is strangled in it’s crib.
