Good day all. Currently, the current Govno of Massachusetts is Maura Healy. She is a hard left Libtarded Progressive Democrat. Under her reign of error, Massachusetts has descended into a virtual dictatorship is you are a taxpaying American citizen. Under her, Massachusetts has been aiding and abetting illegal immigration, among other things.
Recently I wrote about her being upset with ICE operating in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Under her, illegal aliens were receiving food, housing, medical benefits and cash that should have been going to American citizens living in Massachusetts. There have been reports of fraud and crimes being committed by illegal aliens. Now someone is reporting that Healy has been covering up widespread fraud and crime. Here are the details from Lifezette:
A former Massachusetts migrant shelter director accused Gov. Maura Healy of presiding over widespread crime, financial waste, and systemic coverups inside state-funded migrant shelters, saying the experience was “the biggest mistake” of his life and calling for the governor to be held criminally accountable.
John Featherston, who previously ran a migrant shelter in Massachusetts, made the allegations during an exchange with Nate Friedman, describing what he said were unchecked crimes, taxpayer-funded waste, and directives from state leadership that discouraged law enforcement from intervening.
I find this interesting in that the whistleblower, Mr. Featherson, isn’t hiding behind the shield of “Anonymous Sources.” He’s putting his money where his mouth is and identifying himself. In my opinion, that helps his credibility.
“My name is John Featherston. I’m a former migrant shelter director in Massachusetts. It was the biggest mistake of my life, the biggest mistake of my life,” Featherston said.
And why, pray tell, do you consider this to be the biggest mistake of your life Mr. Featherston?
He accused the administration of concealing serious crimes.
“She’s covered up rapes, she’s covered up crimes. She’s covered up sex trafficking, she’s covered up drug dealing that we’re not even talking about the financial piece at its capacity,” Featherston said.
According to Featherston, financial waste was rampant inside the shelter system.
That doesn’t surprise me at all. Maura Healy was the state Attorney general before she ran for Governor. As I recall, she was basically a bully who went after anyone who didn’t toe her particular line. Of course, that’s been the standard for AG’s in Massachusetts for decades.
He described a facility housing roughly 550 people across 150 rooms, with four individuals per room. Despite vacancies, he said the state continued to bill taxpayers for unused space.
“Back a year ago, I would have 10 empty rooms, but the state would still get billed $180 a night for those 10 empty rooms,” he said.
So my question here is, who was doing the actual billing? Did you try and report it? I am going to assume you did.
“So there is a tremendous amount of waste and or fraud, but this is government subsidized housing. There’s no other way to describe it,” he said.
“Your taxpayers, the taxpayers, are paying for everything that goes inside these four walls. So it’s not private property.”
Ok, I doubt that this was an actual state run facility and that Mr. Featherston is speaking rhetorically. I do recall when stories about this first started coming out, but they never really went anywhere. Now I think we may know why.
He said public scrutiny intensified after disturbing incidents became national news.
“The fact that they’re this defensive a year after this has become like a national story, because a man you know, impregnated his own daughter, and these in the shelter, it’s quite obviously they got something to hide,” Featherston said.
Mr. Featherson then goes on to describe all the criminal activities in these facilities such as prostitution, drug dealing, and violence. As for getting the police involved?
Featherston claimed police were discouraged from enforcing the law due to directives tied to the governor’s office.
“I would talk to police officers, and I’d be like, Hey, I know this car is not registered. I know it’s not insured. What are you going to do about it?” he said.
And the officer’s answer?
“If it was you, I’d arrest you. If it’s them, I just let it go.”
According to Featherston, officers cited political pressure.
“Why? Well, the governor wants this, and the governor has come down and given us a mandate that, you know, we don’t give the migrants a hard time, and we don’t, you know, arrest them because they don’t have driver’s license. We just give them stern talking,” he said.
One of the things that ICE has been doing is rounding up illegal aliens who have committed other crimes. When ICE finds out that an illegal is already in state or local custody, they issue a detainer that asks them to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement so they can come to the jail and pick up the criminals.
Instead, because of the politicians such as Healy and the Mayor of Boston, Michelle Wu, these criminals are released, and walking the straight and narrow is not what they do. People have been murdered by illegals who were released because of people like Healy and Wu.
Featherston also criticized media coverage, saying the public has been kept in the dark.
“You don’t know what’s going on, because the legacy media is quite obviously afraid of the governor,” he said.
Here I disagree. Most of the Legacy Media is fully on board with the policies of Healy regarding illegal aliens. As we’re seeing now, they are being dragged kicking and screaming into covering the Somali Affair in Minnesota.
He said local outlets failed to report on conditions inside the shelters.
“You don’t see these stories by the local media. You only see them by the national media and guys like you, you know, doing the real journalism,” Featherston said.
It has been the “New” Media that has been picking up the slack from the Legacy Media and the Legacy Media is very upset about this. They will attack those who actually do the work they won’t do. They don’t need any orders from the Govno’s office.
When Friedman asked directly whether he believed Gov. Healy should face prosecution, Featherston did not hesitate.
“I believe Maura Healy should go to jail for the rest of her life for the crimes that she’s committed,” he said.
We have a number of Democrat Governors who not only should be in jail, thanks to what’s being found in Minnesota, both the DoJ and Congress are starting to look into how all this was allowed to happen. Preliminary data indicates that these Moonbats were letting politics get in the way of their sworn duties. I personally think it’s much deeper then that. People are now wondering of Tim Walz might be put on trial.
Perhaps we can get the attention of of Bondi and Patel and have them add Massachusetts and Maura Healy to the list of things to investigate. Considering her generally poor choice of appointees, such as one of her former aids, Lamar Cook, she definitely needs to be looked into.
