And so ends the hopes of the NeverTrumpers

Good day all. Yesterday I posted an article on how the NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary were trying to take control of the RNC rules committee. Their “Cunning plan” was to either get enough votes on the committee to force a floor vote, or preferably, change the current rules to “Unbind” all the committed delegates.

eye roll

The goal of the NeverTrumpers has always been to, besides getting rid of the overwhelming choice of the GOP Base, to impose yet another Establishment RINO who would lose to Hillary Clinton in a landslide. Well the Republican National Committee has finally put two in the hat of the NeverTrumpers. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

A committee at the Republican National Convention defeated the effort by anti-Donald Trump conservatives to derail the presumptive GOP nominee’s drive to secure the party’s nomination, voting late Thursday to rebuff their plans to let delegates vote for any candidate they’d like.

Party officials used a voice vote to reject a proposal by Colorado delegate Kendal Unruh to let delegates “cast a vote of conscience” and abandon the candidate they had been committed too through the state primaries or caucuses.

Unruh is a Ted Cruz supporter, and she is from Colorado. That was the state that outright ignored the wishes of the Republican base and handed the Colorado delegates to Ted Cruz. It’s no surprise that Unruh would want to shaft the millions of people who voted to nominate Donald Trump.

The amendment became a focal point of furious lobbying that’s pitted the so-called Never Trump movement against Trump’s campaign and top leaders of the Republican Party. On a 112-member rules panel dominated by party and Trump loyalists, the outcome was expected.

It may have been expected, but that didn’t stop the NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary idiots.

Unruh expected to collect signatures from 28 members to bring a vote to unbind the delegates on the convention floor in Cleveland next week. However, she was only able to collect 21.

She encountered overwhelming opposition from delegates arguing that it would be unthinkable for the party to abandon Trump after he overwhelmingly won GOP primaries and caucuses and garnered more than 13 million votes.

“You want to ignore what is really the grassroots, which is millions and millions and millions of voters who voted for Donald Trump,” said Stephen Munisteri, a delegate and leading GOP figure from Texas.

The answer to that is “YES!” The NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary are absolutely horrified that Donald Trump is the Nominee. Not because they don’t believe he can win, (Which he probably can), but that he isn’t “One of us!”

He added, “The only way to advance the conservative cause is through a strong Republican Party that is united to defeat Hillary Clinton and the Democrats this fall.”

The NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary have already shown that they would rather lose this election then allow Donald Trump to have any shot at winning. Basically, the RINOs are putting themselves first. After the vote to punch the NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary in the face, they held another vote that was a nice kick to the groin.

For good measure, the rules panel also approved language specifically stating that party rules allow delegates to be “bound” to candidates.

Of course, the NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary won’t admit defeat.

Despite their defeat, anti-Trump delegates say they believe current rules already free delegates to support anybody and have planned to contest balloting when the convention votes for its nominee next week.

While on a path to near-certain victory, Trump has drawn bitter opposition from Republicans who say he’s not conservative and is an inept campaigner whose harsh statements will cause his defeat and losses by GOP candidates for Congress and elsewhere.

This is the same group of “Experts” that has given us George Herbert Walker Bush, (One Term failure), Bob Dole, George “Compassionate Conservative” Bush, (Who only got a second term due to Islamic Terrorism), John McCain and Mitt Romney. Not one of them was an actual Reagan style conservative, and GW Bush, once he took office, promptly went to work undoing everything Reagan did. The GOP base has decided that they aren’t going to listen to a bunch of out of touch phony conservatives any longer. The GOP(e) has been informed that their services are no longer required.

As Thursday’s negotiations foundered, the alliance between the Trump campaign and leaders of the Republican National Committee showed its muscle and began rejecting conservatives’ attempts to revamp party rules.

Stop calling these frauds “Conservatives” will you? They aren’t and never were.

In one showdown, the rules committee voted 86-23 to reject an effort by conservatives to eliminate the RNC’s ability to change party rules in years between national conventions.

Let me guess. The idea was that the “Conservatives” would set the rules in place to allow them to fully rig the primaries, much the same way as the Democrats do

In another, the panel used a voice vote to defeat a plan to bar members of the RNC from being lobbyists — a profession that employs many of them in their home states — though it would have exempted lobbyists for nonprofit organizations.

Did they really think that the committee members were going to willingly give up their day jobs and their seats on the committee? Somehow, I think they did. I guess the NeverTrumpers really are a Special kind of Stupid.

In a gesture to conservatives, the rules panel voted to create a commission that by 2018 could propose changes to the GOP’s presidential nominating process, which came under intense fire this year. Trump called the system “rigged” early on, and his opponents have demanded more power for delegates to select a fresh nominee.

In other words, they want a way to shaft anyone who could pose any sort of threat to the RINO Establishment. I suspect that committee will meet once and then adjourn for a very long lunch, say 50 years?

There’s been talk of some Trump foes walking out of the convention if they feel they’ve been treated unfairly, a spectacle top Republicans would love to avoid.

And the rest of us will say “Let those losers leave, and then lock them out.”

Both sides agreed that the bargaining broke down over an effort by conservatives to provide extra convention delegates to states with primaries closed to independent and Democratic voters, many of whom flocked to Trump in this year’s voting.

About that business with the closed primaries. A lot of independents and Democrats changed parties well before the “Closing date” in order to vote for Trump. I believe Massachusetts had something like 50,000 voters change their affiliation some time before the primary. What it sounds like is the phony conservatives wanted to set something up similar to the Soviet Democrats super delegate system. That was a major reason Cave In Bernie never had a chance at the Democrat nomination.

The Republican Convention starts next week. For the last 30 years, conventions have become dull and the networks have been cutting back their coverage. This year looks to be different. The GOP is going to have the NeverTrumpers and RINOS4Hillary crowd making fools of themselves, and outside, well, there are an awful lot of people who will be bringing guns.

The Left wing anti-Trumpers, the Black Lives, (and no one else’s), Lives Matter and the New Black Panthers are all going to show up. The Panthers have announced they will be carrying if legally entitled to. This could make the Chicago 1968 convention look like a mild disruption if the moonbats try and physically go after the delegates and Trump supporters. I might actually watch the convention this year.
