Good day all. Sunday, the Los Angeles Times published an editorial that shows why Liberalism is a mental illness. The diatribe written by the LA Times Editorial board would be, if done by a Republican against Hillary Clinton, be labeled “Hate Speech.”
It’s no secret that the LA Times, along with most of the Mostly Stupid Media, hates Trump. Usually, they tend to be a little bit more subtle when they spew their venom. Not this time. Here are some of the “Low lights” from the LA Times Editorial titled “Our Dishonest President”:
It was no secret during the campaign that Donald Trump was a narcissist and a demagogue who used fear and dishonesty to appeal to the worst in American voters. The Times called him unprepared and unsuited for the job he was seeking, and said his election would be a “catastrophe.”
From the point of view of Progressive Liberal Democrats, Trump’s election is a catastrophe. It means that their plan to end the United States as a sovereign, free nation is over.
Still, nothing prepared us for the magnitude of this train wreck. Like millions of other Americans, we clung to a slim hope that the new president would turn out to be all noise and bluster, or that the people around him in the White House would act as a check on his worst instincts, or that he would be sobered and transformed by the awesome responsibilities of office.
Translation, “We thought he would “Grow in office” and become yet another member of the Beltway Uniparty. He would continue with growing government, and forget about all his promises, just like every other Republican president since Ronald Reagan retired.
Instead, seventy-some days in — and with about 1,400 to go before his term is completed — it is increasingly clear that those hopes were misplaced.
In a matter of weeks, President Trump has taken dozens of real-life steps that, if they are not reversed, will rip families apart, foul rivers and pollute the air, intensify the calamitous effects of climate change and profoundly weaken the system of American public education for all.
Foul the rivers? Do you mean like the Environmental Protection agency does? Destroy public education? Have you been to some of the public schools in Los Angeles lately? And as for ripping families apart, I’m assuming your talking about enforcing our immigration laws and deporting the criminals. Oh, if they have “Anchor Babies?” They can go with them. So, nope. Not tearing families apart.
His attempt to de-insure millions of people who had finally received healthcare coverage and, along the way, enact a massive transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich has been put on hold for the moment.
Oh I like that one. “De-insure.” Is that a new word? How about the writers give up their gold plated health insurance plan and use the crap plans available to the serfs and peons. You know, the ones with the $12,000 deductible on top of the premiums before the insurance pays anything? The plans that a huge number of doctors and hospitals are refusing to accept? The system that was going to cost me MY insurance because it is now unaffordable for me?
And as for “Enacting a massive transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich, perhaps you should look at who the rich people voted for. Here’s a hint. It wasn’t Donald J. Trump.
But he is proceeding with his efforts to defang the government’s regulatory agencies and bloat the Pentagon’s budget even as he supposedly retreats from the global stage.
So you support how the assorted alphabet soup of government agencies have criminalized all parts of American life, and come very close to triggering a second civil war? Not to mention that 90+ percent of those agencies are doing things that really aren’t part of the Federal Government’s constitutional duties.
As for the defense budget, I hate to tell you this, but thanks to your president, Barack Obama, and to some extent, George W. Bush, our military is exhausted, our equipment is worn out and obsolete and the troops morale, ate least until November 9th, 2016, was in the crapper. We will need to replace most of our aircraft, either with new models or improved versions of what we have now. (There have been now serious upgrades to our first line fighters in about 15 or more years)
Granted, there is a lot of waste in the Defense Department, but a lot of that is due to congress and their habit of pork barreling everything they can. Making some structural changes to the acquisition process could save billions. However, I know that your goal is to disband the military and greet anyone who would do us harm, (Muslims), with drum circles and floral displays.
These are immensely dangerous developments which threaten to weaken this country’s moral standing in the world, imperil the planet and reverse years of slow but steady gains by marginalized or impoverished Americans.
Our moral standing? Oh wait, I understand. By our very existence, everything that is bad in the world is our fault. We must atone for our very existence by surrendering to the demands of every third world dictator. Got it.
But, chilling as they are, these radically wrongheaded policy choices are not, in fact, the most frightening aspect of the Trump presidency.
Oh this should be good.
What is most worrisome about Trump is Trump himself. He is a man so unpredictable, so reckless, so petulant, so full of blind self-regard, so untethered to reality that it is impossible to know where his presidency will lead or how much damage he will do to our nation. His obsession with his own fame, wealth and success, his determination to vanquish enemies real and imagined, his craving for adulation — these traits were, of course, at the very heart of his scorched-earth outsider campaign; indeed, some of them helped get him elected. But in a real presidency in which he wields unimaginable power, they are nothing short of disastrous.
Trump’s shocking lack of respect for those fundamental rules and institutions on which our government is based. Since Jan. 20, he has repeatedly disparaged and challenged those entities that have threatened his agenda, stoking public distrust of essential institutions in a way that undermines faith in American democracy.
I hate to be the one to break it to you pal, but the public has distrusted those institutions for decades. It’s just now, we have someone in officer who agrees with us and is trying to undo the damage of nearly a century,
He has questioned the qualifications of judges and the integrity of their decisions, rather than acknowledging that even the president must submit to the rule of law.
Considering that the judges in question, again I’m assuming you mean the ones who illegally ruled in President Trump’s immigration executive orders cases, outright ignored both the law AND the constitution and basically usurped authority not theirs by law? Those judges?
He has clashed with his own intelligence agencies, demeaned government workers and questioned the credibility of the electoral system and the Federal Reserve.
I see you haven’t been paying attention in the last week or so, where information is coming out that someone illegally leaked information to the press? As for the Federal Reserve, that pack of morons have caused more destruction to the economy in their existence then 2 world wars. There is also the constitutional question on their actual right to exist. However, that’s for another day.
He has lashed out at journalists, declaring them “enemies of the people,” rather than defending the importance of a critical, independent free press.

Oh this is rich! By your own words, you condemn yourselves. This editorial alone proves everything you are denying. Then we can go into the huge number of retractions, or outright lies coming from what is known as the “Main Stream Media.” How many times has President Trump made an accusation, which the MSM has belittled, only to have it show that Trump was right and the media dead wrong?
His contempt for the rule of law and the norms of government are palpable.
I see you forgot all about Obama’s “Pen and Phone” remarks, and his utter contempt for the rule of law and the Constitution. Why do you think President Trump is finding it so easy to undo everything Der Fubar did? Obama didn’t bother with going through congress to have a law enacted, he just ruled by decree. Now he, and the rest of the Moonbats are finding out just how solid Obama’s legacy actually is.
His utter lack of regard for truth. Whether it is the easily disprovable boasts about the size of his inauguration crowd or his unsubstantiated assertion that Barack Obama bugged Trump Tower, the new president regularly muddies the waters of fact and fiction.
Trump may have exaggerated a bit. It’s both unlikely and in today’s technological society, unnecessary to plant physical microphones. However, it looks like President Trump was correct that he and his people were being monitored, and that it probably wasn’t legal. The unmasking of who was swept up in the surveillance of foreign calls, along with passing that information to the media definitely WAS illegal and it looks like they may know who did it.
It’s difficult to know whether he actually can’t distinguish the real from the unreal — or whether he intentionally conflates the two to befuddle voters, deflect criticism and undermine the very idea of objective truth. Whatever the explanation, he is encouraging Americans to reject facts, to disrespect science, documents, nonpartisanship and the mainstream media — and instead to simply take positions on the basis of ideology and preconceived notions. This is a recipe for a divided country in which differences grow deeper and rational compromise becomes impossible.
And here we see the typical Progressive Liberal’s utter and complete contempt for the ability of most people to make their own decisions. When the LA Times states that Trump is “Disrespecting science,” what they mean is that Trump won’t kowtow at the alter of the Church of Global Warming. We’ve seen over the last 10+ years what a complete fraud “Climate Change” actually is.
When so called scientists refuse to release the data sets they sued to make up their facts, (and you can underline “Make Up”), not to mention what people see with their own eyes, (Massive snow drifts and blizzards), people tend to think that the “scientists” don’t get out into the real world to often. I wont’ bother with all the information on how poorly the weather stations have been sited, or how there has been blatant fraud when it came time for more grant money. I’ve already gone over that.
His scary willingness to repeat alt-right conspiracy theories, racist memes and crackpot, out-of-the-mainstream ideas.
Yeah, Alt-Right became the latest way for Progressive Liberal Democrats to insult anyone who didn’t agree with them. They used to scream “Racist!” however, that no longer has the shock effect it once did. The problem with screaming “ALT-RIGHT!!” at everyone is that many people don’t have a clue what that actually means, and they know enough not to trust anything the “Alt-Left” says.
Again, it is not clear whether he believes them or merely uses them. But to cling to disproven “alternative” facts; to retweet racists; to make unverifiable or false statements about rigged elections and fraudulent voters; to buy into discredited conspiracy theories first floated on fringe websites and in supermarket tabloids — these are all of a piece with the Barack Obama birther claptrap that Trump was peddling years ago and which brought him to political prominence. It is deeply alarming that a president would lend the credibility of his office to ideas that have been rightly rejected by politicians from both major political parties.
Except for a few problems like the rising proof that there was actual voter fraud, that illegal aliens and lawful resident aliens did indeed vote in the election. Oh wait! You said those were unverified? I guess you missed the story about the long term green card holder who voted several times, even though she knew she wasn’t allowed to. Now she’s in prison and will be deported forever once her sentence is completed.
Where will this end? Will Trump moderate his crazier campaign positions as time passes?
Your idea of “Crazy positions” shows just how out of touch you are with the majority of Americans. President Trump is doing something unheard of in decades. He’s working to KEEP his promises.
Or will he provoke confrontation with Iran, North Korea or China, or disobey a judge’s order or order a soldier to violate the Constitution?
I see your answer to the problems of North Korea and Iran is to basically run up the white flag and surrender. China is another issue. They want to control the Pacific Rim, and knock down the United States. They do NOT want a war. In other words, unlike North Korea or Iran, they are rational people and Trump can work out a deal that benefits America first. Oh wait. You hate America and want us destroyed. How silly of me to forget that.
Or, alternately, will the system itself — the Constitution, the courts, the permanent bureaucracy, the Congress, the Democrats, the marchers in the streets — protect us from him as he alienates more and more allies at home and abroad, steps on his own message and creates chaos at the expense of his ability to accomplish his goals?
Unlike you, and a fair number of the courts, Trump actually supports the Constitution as it is written, not make up things that were never in there in the first place. I will add that placing your hopes on the “Permanent Bureaucracy” again shows just how out of the mainstream you are. Most Americans consider those bureaucrats to be a direct threat to their freedom, liberty and in some cases, lives. They elected Trump to go in and gut them, not kiss their bureaucratic shoes.
As for those people you call “Protesters?” Perhaps you should read your own paper. People have had enough of those thugs YOU are supporting, and now are beginning to fight back. Your “Protesters” are showing just how tough they are by running away screaming like babies when they get spanked.
Already, Trump’s job approval rating has been hovering in the mid-30s, according to Gallup, a shockingly low level of support for a new president.
And who pays any attention to pollsters any longer. They pretty much destroyed what credibility they had last year. Just ask President Clinton. Oh wait!! you can’t!
And that was before his former national security advisor, Michael Flynn, offered to cooperate last week with congressional investigators looking into the connection between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.
And why did he offer to testify? Never mind the immunity stuff. He offered to talk with them because he is a victim of a criminal act. I know the Democrats on the committee are thinking they could use his testimony to “Get Trump” but to date, every single attempt has blown up in their faces.
On Inauguration Day, we wrote on this page that it was not yet time to declare a state of “wholesale panic” or to call for blanket “non-cooperation” with the Trump administration. Despite plenty of dispiriting signals, that is still our view.
And how is that “Non-cooperation” going to work? We’re already seeing some of what you want, with Progressive Liberal Democrat mayors outright refusing to uphold the law. You also seem to think that your side, or should I say, your ever shrinking side, has zero influence. All three branches of the Federal Government are in Republican hands. Granted, the RINO’s and GOP(e) idiots are still having problems understanding that they’re in charge now, but some of them are coming around. They just need a few more whippings, to improve their morale.
The role of the rational opposition is to stand up for the rule of law, the electoral process, the peaceful transfer of power and the role of institutions.
Great! Something we actually agree on! So when are you actually going to live up to that belief?
We should not underestimate the resiliency of a system in which laws are greater than individuals and voters are as powerful as presidents. This nation survived Andrew Jackson and Richard Nixon. It survived slavery. It survived devastating wars. Most likely, it will survive again.
Yes, we survived Nixon, but he actually believed in the country. Your side doesn’t. Our previous president will probably be listed in the history books as the first, and I hope, only, Anti-American president in history. As for Andrew Jackson? I hate to be the one to burst your progressive bubble, (Actually, someone hand me a pin), but most Americans today could be considered “Jacksonian” in their political outlook.
But if it is to do so, those who oppose the new president’s reckless and heartless agenda must make their voices heard. Protesters must raise their banners.
Does that mean leaving their Molotov cocktails, clubs and pepper spray at home?
Voters must turn out for elections.
We did. Your side, disgusted at having their candidate’s probable win of the nomination outright stolen from him by Felonia von Pantsuit and the DNC, stayed home.
Members of Congress — including and especially Republicans — must find the political courage to stand up to Trump.
So, you want everyone to be just like Lindsey Graham and John McCain? You do realize that those two might just be in their final terms. McCain is old and rotten and I understand that the South Carolina voters think Graham should retire for health reasons. People are sick of him and his antics.
Courts must safeguard the Constitution.
First, they should actually try READING it.
State legislators must pass laws to protect their citizens and their policies from federal meddling.
I guess you missed how the states started doing that during the Obama regime. Tell me again how may times the Obama DOJ stomped on States Rights?
All of us who are in the business of holding leaders accountable must redouble our efforts to defend the truth from his cynical assaults.
You wouldn’t know what the truth was if it kicked you in what passes for your testicles.
The United States is not a perfect country.
No one said it was.
It has a great distance to go before it fully achieves its goals of liberty and equality.
Much further now, thanks to the actions of the previous administration.
This is the first in a series.
Oh great, Now you’re threatening us? Let me clue you idiots in. With Donald J. Trump as president of the United States, something very important to you has happened. You get to live. You have no idea how close we came to an outright shooting civil war if Felonia von Pantsuit, aka Hillary Clinton, had won the election. Her stated goals of doing away with the 1st and 2nd amendments by judicial fiat would have triggered it.
You and your left wing ilk have been pushing for so long that the very people you denigrate, insult, threaten and attack had had enough. They pulled their guns from the closet the night of November 8th 2016. On the morning of November 9th, when they saw the results of the election, they breathed a sigh of relief and put them away.
Currently, gun manufacturers are bracing for a down turn in business. Why? Because people don’t see the need to buy as many guns and as much ammunition as they did under the Obama regime. They see a president who, for the first time in decades, actually represent most of their views. Your candidates don’t, and your editorial shows that you have no idea what happened. Keep publishing this crap. All you are doing is confirming to people that you are nothing more than a bunch of over-educated elitists who have no idea what is happening in flyover country.
Trump does and he’s going full steam ahead.
