Good day all. The Progressive Liberal Democrats, aka Proglodytes, leave to use the word “Deal.” First we had the New Deal, then the Fair Deal. Now we have the latest incarnation, the “Better Deal.”
Without a doubt, it will be just like all the other “Deals,” an actual raw deal for everyone. The proglodytes have been running on empty with regards to ideas that actually benefit the nation and Americans for decades. President, (for life), Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal is now considered by many scholars to have been a failure. We’re dealing with the fallout from the New Deal almost a century later. With regards to the Democrats “Better Deal” Here’s what one of their media mouthpieces, National Public Radio, has to say:
Six months after Republicans gained control of the White House and both houses of Congress, Democrats have outlined a plan to improve their chances of methodically taking it all back.
They are leaning heavily on a re-branding of their greatest hits — more and better-paying jobs, lowering health care costs and cracking down on the what are seen as the abuses of big business.
So, they’re just going to do more of the same with the exact same results. Abject failure. Lowering health care costs? Gee, isn’t that what Obamacare was supposed to do? Where’s that $2500 savings I was told I was going to get? Oh right. My rates went UP $2500, and now I’ve lost my insurance.
As an agenda and a slogan, “A Better Deal,” hearkens back to the days of President Franklin Roosevelt. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer went 50 miles outside the Beltway, to Berryville, Va., to unveil it, hoping the ideas will resonate with suburban voters, many of whom were energized by Trump’s campaign-trail populism.
Do you know why President Trump IS President Trump today? Because he said he was going to do all he could to get the dead hand of Proglodyte policies and regulations off the backs of American businesses and people. Compare that with your last candidate, Felonia von Pantsuit, who said she planned to throw every single person working in the coal industry out into the streets.
“When you lose an election with someone who has, say, 40 percent popularity, you look in the mirror and say what did we do wrong?” Schumer said, speaking on ABC’s This Week Sunday. “And the No. 1 thing that we did wrong is … we didn’t tell people what we stood for.”
I disagree. You told people exactly what you stood for. Socialism, suppression of individual rights and liberty, massive taxes and regulations and totalitarian control of all aspects of American life. In other words, you wanted to bring back the Soviet Union, only not in Russia.
Democrats say they want to double federal support for apprenticeship programs to help train young people and put out-of-work adults back in the work force. They also want tax incentives for companies to retrain workers, as well as new standards aimed at limiting corporate mergers that throw people out of work. In addition, the plan calls for lowering the cost of prescription drugs.
The apprenticeship idea is not a bad one, if you have industries that need apprentices. I think the last one was driven out by the Democrats decades ago. Limiting mergers? Bwahahaha! The Democrats love centralized control. As long as the merging companies pay bribes to the Democrats, those mergers will happen.
As for lowering the cost of drugs? How do you plan on doing that? By ordering drug companies to do so? That’s worked out so well in the past, hasn’t it? What we ended up with were shortages and increased costs because of the Proglodytes love of “Helping.”
“We will aggressively crack down on unfair foreign trade and fight back against corporations that outsource American jobs,” the Democratic leadership said in a statement. “We will fight to ensure a living wage for all Americans and keep our promise to millions of workers who earned a pension, Social Security and Medicare, so seniors can retire with dignity.”
Oh that is amusing. You’ve done so well in the past with that idea. Now the reality is that President Trump is actually doing what you claim you will do. The track record of the Proglodytes on bringing jobs back to America is, to put it, pathetic.
Writing in The Washington Post on Sunday, Pelosi said that since taking the reins in January, Republicans have squandered opportunities to help average Americans. “[Instead] of creating good-paying jobs, or rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure, or advancing tax reform,” she said, “Republicans have spent six months trying to raise Americans’ health costs to fund tax breaks for billionaires.”
I see that someone let Pelosi out of the Alzheimer’s ward again.
Democrats need to wrest 24 Republican-held seats in the House to gain control of that chamber. In the Senate, however, they are playing defense, fighting to retain Democratic-held seats in states won by Trump.
The chances of the Democrats flipping the house are extremely low. In all probability, they’re going to get hammered again in 2018. What we may see is a number of current members of the GOP(e) who are also up for reelection getting primary opponents and possibly losing their seats. We have people like Paul Ryan, aka Eddie Munster, who has shown what a total incompetent he is, not to mention being a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chamber of Commerce. His disloyalty to Trump may cost him his seat in 2018.

In the senate, things are even worse for the Proglodytes. They’ve lost every special election to date, and many of the formally blue states they used to count on have either gone purple, or even red. As for Mitch “The Turtle” McConnell, he’s demonstrated that he will put the Uniparty ahead of the Republican base, and that he’s more concerned with appearances and getting along then with actually accomplishing anything. We’re stuck with him in the Senate until 2020.
The Proglodytes will continue pushing the same failed old policies they’ve been pushing since 1932. The problem for them is that the American People have caught on and are tired of the abject failure and devastation caused by all these “Deals” the Democrats have pushed. This too, shall fail.
