John Kasich threatens to leave GOP

Good day all. While coverage continues on the tragedy in Las Vegas, there is other news. Over the weekend, John Kasich, the governor of Ohio, announced that the Republican Party can’t be” fixed” he’s going to leave it.

John Kasich ran for President and was crushed like a grape run over by a steamroller last year. He was also the last to withdraw from the Republican race. Even then, he refused to support Donald Trump, who won the nomination and was one of the dedicated “Never Trumpers” attempting to strip the nomination from Trump in a floor fight. Basically, Kasich is the poster child for sour grapes.

Now Kasich is threatening to leave the Republican Party unless it gets “fixed.” Here are the details from Fox News:

Gov. John Kasich, R-Ohio, in an interview Sunday hinted that he would consider leaving the Republican Party if its members don’t get their act together.

If the party can’t be fixed, Jake, then I’m not going to be able to support the party,” he told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “Period. That’s the end of it.”

As to what this means, I think I can hazard a few guesses. To begin with, he despises anyone who agrees with President Trump. What he thinks of President Trump himself is probably not printable. Heading over to the original story on CNN:

Asked what that meant for his future in the GOP, Kasich said he was committed to the party and intended to win it over from the surging nationalist wing.

“I want this party to be straightened out,” Kasich said.

“What I’m trying to do is struggle for the soul of the Republican Party the way that I see it,” Kasich said. “And I have a right to define it, but I’m not going to support people who are dividers.”

In other words, John Kasich is a member and true believer in the Globalist Uniparty. If there are people who believe in independent, sovereign nations, such as President Trump, then Kasich considers you to be a mental defective who should be locked up for your own good.

Kasich made clear he did not support former Judge Roy Moore, the far-right Republican nominee for Alabama’s Senate seat with a history of incendiary comments on race, sexuality and religion. As for whether the Republican Party should continue to support Moore in the December special election, Kasich demurred and returned to his broader desire to reshape the party.

Kasich’s true answer would be, if he could get away with it, “No. Vote for the Democrat! Kasich likes to think of himself as a “Moderate.” Other “Moderates” would be people like John McSlime and Susan Collins from Maine. Another name for them would be “Democrats”.

Kasich repeatedly pointed to public dissatisfaction with the Republican and Democratic parties, and referenced the strength of independent political identities. He said both parties needed to grapple with ideological currents pulling them away from the center, adding that he had “no idea what the Democrats are for.”

Kasich doesn’t know what the Democrats stand for? Perhaps if he pulled his head out of his ass he could see that he agrees with pretty much everything they do.

He has continued to criticize Trump since the inauguration and expressed his dissatisfaction with the right wing of the party as well as some of its major initiatives, like its attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

And here is where we see the true John Kasich. As I recall, the state legislature told Kasich not to expand Medicaid, and he did it anyway, and may have driven Ohio economic future right into the ground. John Kasich has always loved spending other people’s money and drank deeply of the Obamacare Kool-Aid. He has utterly ignored just how hated Obamacare is by most people, and refuses to accept that Obamacare has failed. He doesn’t want to end it, he wants to throw even more money at it.

Kasich is also a big supporter of open borders and amnesty for Illegal Aliens. During the 2016 Primaries, Kasich was pushing for blanket amnesty for all illegal aliens, going even further to the left then the Democrats.

In particular, Trump has zeroed in on Kasich’s heretofore overlooked push for massive amnesty. Though it has transpired without much attention, Kasich has quietly amassed a string of bizarre, peculiar, and extreme statements on immigration that places him to the furthest leftward reaches of not just the Republican President field, but the Democratic Presidential field as well. This perhaps underscores an element of seriousness to Kasich’s previous declaration, which he had intended in jest: “I ought to be running in a Democrat primary.”

In this, I agree. He should be a Democrat. If he wants to leave the Republican Party, the general response will be…

One Response to John Kasich threatens to leave GOP

  1. BruceInVA says:

He’s been a member of the Uniparty and in name only very loosely affiliated with the Republican branch of it. He has never shown any inkling to be a conservative of any sort.

Heck, former VA governor Jerry Baliles was among a bunch of conservatives in heavily Republican area and taking some ribbing. And such a good-natured guy that he is noted that “but I’m a conservative Democrat.” And he pretty much was more conservative than Lyin Ryan, Mitch, McSlime, Collins, Murkowski et al.
