Good day all. Last week, Senator Orrin Hatch, (R-Utah), announced that he was finally retiring from the United States Senate. Hatch, who not quite older then Utah has been a state, probably could have won reelection if he had wanted to run again.

Since he announced, the mad rush to go for his seat has begun. One of the names being touted is former failed presidential candidate, former failed governor and a leader in the Never Trump movement, Mittens Romney. Mittens is very popular among the Country Club Republicans, the Chamber of Commerce Republicans, and the Beltway Uniparty. Even some in the media like him, thinking he will be the next John McCain. One such organization is USA Today, one of the major Fake News organizations of the Mostly Senile Media. Here is what they have to say:
As he’s expressed his desire to join the U.S. Senate, Mitt Romney has privately revealed that a driving purpose of his service would be to emulate a former rival and fellow foiled Republican presidential nominee: Sen. John McCain.

By that you mean pretend you’re a conservative Republican but vote like a Democrat while bashing anyone who disagrees with you? That does sound about your speed Mittens.
“There’s got to be somebody who can stand up to the president,” Romney told members of the Utah congressional delegation in recent weeks, according to a person with knowledge of his comments. “Who’s going to stand up to Trump?”
How about the Democrats? They’re trying to undo the election and put Felonia von Pantsuit in office…somehow. I think, considering your background, you would fit right in with them.
In contemplating his own question, Romney’s referenced that McCain has filled the role of principled objector to the Trump presidency, opposing his travel ban, sinking his health care repeal with an emphatic thumbs-down vote, blasting his “half-baked, spurious nationalism,” and repudiating his coziness with Vladimir Putin. Romney may not share all of McCain’s precise positions, but he admires the Arizona Republican’s fearlessness during an especially turbulent chapter in U.S. politics.
John McCain is about as popular as head lice in most of the country, and considering how he flat out lied to the voters of Arizona to get reelected, isn’t all that popular there either. However, he is, technically, safe since he just won reelection. That’s the bad news. The good news, is he has a fatal brain tumor and will die soon. McSlime has proven to be a totally disreputable scumbag. He is a globalist and has no problem with open borders.
For decades, his only goal has been the promotion of John McScum. Now he is suffering from a well deserved brain tumor and will either leave the Senate due to the illness, or, considering how slimy he his, die in the Senate. Yes, I know my remarks on his health will offend people. I don’t care. The country would have been better served if he had ridden his plane into the ground in Vietnam and been awarded his Medal of Honor posthumously.

With the 81-year-old McCain battling brain cancer and likely serving his final term, Romney sees a coming void for an elder statesman in Washington who can take on Trump with unfettered earnestness and without significant political consequence. Carrying overwhelming popularity in a place where he still basks in “favorite son” status for rescuing the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Romney has tremendous capital to spend in Utah. And at 70 years old, serving in the Senate would be the capstone to his political career.
You mean his failed political career, don’t you?
“He has the ability to act in a statesmanlike role because he has national experience and governance experience,” says Bruce Hough, a former Republican National Committeeman from Utah. “There’s not a lot for him to gain politically. He would be a two-term senator, based on his age.”
How about he being a basic no-termer instead? It may seem to USA Today that Mittens is a shoe-in, but he has a lot of baggage, and frankly, isn’t all that well liked on main street.
FreedomWorks, the Washington-based conservative nonprofit credited with assisting in Utah Sen. Mike Lee’s 2010 election victory, is openly opposing Romney and seeking potential alternatives.
“We have seen his record in Massachusetts and are looking for a constitutional conservative,” the group’s spokesman, Jon Meadows, says of the former Bay State governor.
As someone who watched the disaster that was Mittens Romney’s single administration, following the Constitution is definitely something he can’t be bothered with. He’s also the one who gave Massachusetts “Romneycare” which is what Obamacare was based on, right down to the “You will have health insurance or else!” mandate, now essentially ended thanks to President Trump.
To many Utah Republicans, though, Romney opponents are wasting their time.
“Romney’s going to get in – and if he does, he’ll win,” says Dan Liljenquist, a former Republican state senator who challenged Hatch for his seat in 2012. “He’s thoughtful, he’s trustworthy. He’d have instant credibility.”
“Romney’s just an 800-freaking-pound gorilla here,” Owen says.
Adds Hough: “He’s inevitable if he decides to run. He would overpower anybody.”
That…isn’t certain. Mittens, as governor, has a lot of baggage, starting with the aforementioned Romneycare system. His outright cowardice when it came time to run for reelection, led him to decide not to run. (He wasn’t that popular a governor and was seen sucking up to Billy Bulger and the corruptocrats of Beacon Hill far to often)

His two failed attempts at the presidency, first being defeated in the Primaries by John McSlime, and then in 2012 when he blew a winnable election by showing that he stands for…Mittens Romney and the Chamber of Commerce. Many won’t recall, but he crushed Obama in their first debate.
This surprised many people, including myself. At this point, many thought the GOP actually had a chance, but we forgot what a spineless loser Mittens is. By the second debate, Mittens had recovered and promptly crashed and burned.
Considering the political climate in the Republican Party today, and how the RINO’s are being slowly taken out behind the barn and put down, Mittens, if he runs for the seat, may find himself getting hammered by a Republican challenger in the Primary. However, this isn’t stopping the wet dream of the RINO’s and USA Today. They think he will win and then become Senate Majority leader. (I’m not sure which side he would represent though)
If Romney indeed runs and is successful, he’d enter the Senate just about a year from now, following potentially ruinous midterm elections for Republicans that could toss them out of power and would force deep soul-searching about how to handle Trump’s re-election while protecting the broader party.
Funny how USA Today thinks the Republican Party is going to lose. The Progressive Democrats have a lot more seats to defend then the GOP, and at least 10 of them are in states that President Trump won, in some cases, by large margins. The Democrats have no ideas and their sole goal is gaining absolute power and reducing Americans to the level of chattel. If the economy continues to grow, and people continue to see their lives improving after 8 years of Obama’s failed presidency, the midterms will be a massacre for them.
“There’s exactly two people who could walk into the GOP conference meeting and challenge Mitch McConnell to be leader and win,” Matheson asserts. “Mitt Romney or Marco Rubio. If Mitt did, he’d win.”
Such a coup would be unprecedented for a freshman, and Matheson says Romney didn’t address it when he suggested such a radical scenario during their meeting.
“Imagine Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan having a bigger influence on one end of Pennsylvania Avenue than they would have on the other end of Pennsylvania Ave. Imagine a Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan Congress,” Matheson says. “That is a face of the Republican Party that’s very interesting.”
USA Today is living in a Progressive bubble. I honestly don’t know what might happen in Utah if Mittens runs, but he will not be the Senate Majority, or minority leader, and neither will Mini-Marco Rubio. The Republican base will not tolerate the antics of those two if they should try to subvert President Trump, (Provided Mittens runs and wins). There’s a reason so many of the Uniparty RINO’s are suddenly retiring. They’re seeing their polling numbers and know that there is a good chance they will be Cantorized in their primaries.
Mittens Romney is the past politically for the Republican Party. He is, like so many others inside the Beltway, an out of touch Democrat Lite political fool. He believes in big government, the power of the state over the rights of the people and that Americans must be ruled by an elite class, of which he is a member.
That may have worked in the past, but Americans have seen what a failure the Federal Government is, and how, thanks to President Trump and those who support him in Congress, things are starting to get better. It’s time for Romney to just go away. Perhaps he should move in with his BFF, Allahpundit from HotAir.com. They can polish each other knobs until the cows come home. Good bye Mittens, don’t go away mad, just go away.
