The Streisand Effect Mark II

Good day all. Years ago, a new internet term came into being. It was called the “Streisand Effect” and was named after Barbara Streisand. The story is simple. A photographer, flying along the California coastline taking pictures happened to snap a few of Streisand’s coastal home and property.

The photographer had no idea who owned the house. He was interested in the cliffs and beachfront, and was documenting the erosion. He later published a coffee table book of his pictures and one of them was of Streisand’s house. She went ballistic and sent her lawyers after the photographer and the publisher. The case was eventually laughed out of court, but in the process of trying to force a recall of the book, people who had never heard of the photographer got curious and sales went through the roof. Eventually, a blogger coined the term, the Streisand Effect and the meme took off. Here is the formal definition from Wikipedia:

The Streisand effect is the phenomenon whereby an attempt to hide, remove, or censor a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely, usually facilitated by the Internet. It is an example of psychological reactance, wherein once people are aware that some information is being kept from them, their motivation to access and spread it is increased.

It is named after American entertainer Barbra Streisand, whose 2003 attempt to suppress photographs of her residence in Malibu, California, inadvertently drew further public attention to it. Similar attempts have been made, for example, in cease-and-desist letters to suppress files, websites, and even numbers. Instead of being suppressed, the information receives extensive publicity and media extensions such as videos and spoof songs, often being widely mirrored across the Internet or distributed on file-sharing networks.

Well, it seems that Barbara Streisand is incapable of learning from her mistakes. Rather then keep her mouth shut and be thought a moron, she once again opened it and removed all possible doubt. This time, she decided to attack the Republican tax plan recently signed into law as unfair. Normally, this isn’t a problem. The moonbats, of which Streisand is a very high flying member, have been claiming that the new law will be bad for low and middle class taxpayers. However, that wasn’t the group The Shrieking Harpy of Malibu was defending. Here are the details from Fox News:

Barbra Streisand took to Twitter on Thursday, (January 4th), to share her thoughts about Trump and the GOP’s new tax plan.

The actress, who is known as a frequent critic of the Trump administration, explained that the new tax plan is a trap that is deliberately meant to harm those who live in blue states, athletes, the middle class and Hollywood.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that blue states, athletes, actors, writers, producers, and directors will be punished by this scam of a tax bill, where billionaires get billions, and the middle class gets bupkis (practically nothing) – and an eventual tax increase,” Streisand wrote.

Streisand also called the members of the Trump administration “erratic and disruptive” in another tweet she shared on Thursday.

If you wrote a script about politics today, who would believe it? I guess erratic and disruptive people make good copy, but the abuse of power, the vindictiveness, and the outright lies every day from this Administration are shocking.”

Streisand, who is noted for her erratic behavior, is calling President Trump erratic? Of course, she is a “Very Special Snowflake” and as we all know, nothing she does can be considered “Erratic.” Hypocritical perhaps, but not erratic.

In December, the singer shared her thoughts on the Trump administration’s handle of health care, climate change and the lack of care for the middle class.

Excuse me? Thoughts? Since when did we determine Barbara Streisand is capable of generating an actual thought?

Trump proved yesterday in his interview and his tweets that he doesn’t understand climate change, healthcare policy, or the role of the DOJ (and he doesn’t bother to read up on these subjects!)”

Poor Babs, she knows not…anything, and she is more then happy to expound on her complete lack of intellect.

Collusion or no collusion, @realDonaldTrump should be impeached for sheer stupidity.”

Barbara Streisand, as did much of the Hollyweird elite, backed the continuing criminal enterprise that is Felonia von Pantsuit. Why? Because Felonia is a woman, (Allegedly), and a progressive incompetent Democrat. And like Felonia, and pretty much all politicians, made a promise she had no intention of ever keeping.

In August of 2016, the Hollywood icon told “60 Minutes” correspondent Michael Usher that she would leave the country if Trump was elected.

I can’t believe it. I’m either coming to your country if you’ll let me in, or Canada,” Streisand said to Usher, who is originally from Australia, while referring to the possibility of Trump becoming president.

The problem with Hollyweird stars is that they have little to now experience in the real world. The don’t associate with the people that made them rich and famous, and honestly, hold most Americans in utter contempt. They live in a bubble, surrounded by armed guards to keep their fans away and think they are wise and knowledgeable about science, farming, and the world in general.

I find it interesting that most actors and actresses never went to collage, and those that did went for degrees dealing with their professions. Very few have degrees in actual science or mathematics. (Dolph Lundgren, for instance, is an actual rocket scientist with a degree in chemical engineering) Barbara Streisand? She attended and graduated from Erasmus Hall High School. Just how good was this school? According to Wikipedia:

Due to poor academic scores, the city closed Erasmus Hall High School in 1994, turning the building into Erasmus Hall Educational Campus and using it as the location for five separate small schools.

Granted, this was long after Streisand attended the school, but it certainly didn’t maker her an expert on things like, oh, chemical engineering and climatology. It does show that she isn’t all that bright, and still hasn’t learned the one simple truth people like her should live by.

“It is far better to remain silent and be thought a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
