Kalifornistan implementing the Department of Truth

Good day all. The descent of the once great state of California into the People’s Democratic Republic of Kalifornistan continues to accelerate. A bill has been filed in the Kalifornistan Supreme Soviet requiring governmental approval of the content people post online.

The bill, SB1424 Internet: social media: false information: strategic plan, was put forward by Comrade Richard Pan and is blatant in what it’s goals are. Basically, the complete suppression of Free Speech. Here is some of what the bill says:

Internet: social media: false information: strategic plan.

Existing law prohibits a person, among others, from making or disseminating in any advertising device, or in any manner or means whatever, including over the Internet, any statement concerning real or personal property or services that is untrue or misleading, as specified.

This bill would require any person who operates a social media, as defined, Internet Web site with a physical presence in California to develop a strategic plan to verify news stories shared on its Web site. The bill would require the plan to include, among other things, a plan to mitigate the spread of false information through news stories, the utilization of fact-checkers to verify news stories, providing outreach to social media users, and placing a warning on a news story containing false information.

SECTION 1. Title 14.5 (commencing with Section 3085) is added to Part 4 of Division 3 of the Civil Code, to read:

TITLE 14.5. False Information Strategic Plans

3085. (a) Any person who operates a social media Internet Web site with physical presence in California shall develop a strategic plan to verify news stories shared on its Internet Web site.

(b) The strategic plan shall include, but is not limited to, all of the following:

(1) A plan to mitigate the spread of false information through news stories.

(2) The utilization of fact-checkers to verify news stories.

(3) Providing outreach to social media users regarding news stories containing false information.

(4) Placing a warning on a news story containing false information.

(c) As used in this section, “social media” means an electronic service or account, or electronic content, including, but not limited to, videos, still photographs, blogs, video blogs, podcasts, instant and text messages, email, online services or accounts, or Internet Web site profiles or locations.

One thing not listed in this pile of manure are the penalties for non-compliance. I suspect that would be phase two if the Kalifornistan Supreme Soviet were stupid enough to pass this into law. Of course, it would be challenged immediately, and probably upheld by their friends on the 9th Circus court of Appeals, but since Comrade Reinhardt croaked the other day, Comrade Pan and the others can’t count on them any longer.

What really troubles me is that Comrade Pan is actually considering this. It is a blatant assault on the 1st Amendment, and, truth be told, would be tossed out in the first court that heard the challenge to it. What it does demonstrate is the mindset of the Democrats today. Bluntly, there is no difference between them and any other totalitarian party with the possible exception of body count. Fascists, Communists, Nazis, Liberals, Progressives, Democrats. No difference at all.

Richard Pan should be forced to resign from office over this load of crap. He clearly doesn’t support the Constitution of the United States, and, frankly, is in violation of his Oath of office. He won’t resign of course. He thinks it’s his due to rule over the serfs, and the Supreme Soviet of the People’s Democratic Republic of Kalifornistan probably agrees with him. I wonder how long before this ends up on Supreme Leader Brown’s desk?
