Good day all. Noted Moonbat, former TV star and current film director, Rob “Meathead” Reiner released a new Bush bashing film titled “Shock and Awe. The film’s opening didn’t perform to the anticipated financial expectations. Basically, it was a bigger bomb then the one dropped on Hiroshima.
The movie, titled Shock and Awe, wasn’t very shocking and awed absolutely no one not of the genus Moonbat. Here are the details from Fox News:
Liberal filmmaker Rob Reiner’s Bush administration-bashing “Shock and Awe” was a disappointment during its debut weekend with an embarrassing box office intake.
Just how disappointing was it? The phrase “Box office disaster” comes to mind.
“Shock and Awe” grossed only $41,000 on its opening weekend after being shown in only 100 theaters, according to Box Office Mojo.
If I did my math right, and I’ll be the4 first to admit, I suck at math, I’m estimating that, at $8 dollars a ticket, something like 5000 people watched this movie. That breaks down to roughly 50 people per theater spread out over the 3 day weekend. (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) I suspect that many showings were to empty theaters.
“Shock and Awe” finished No. 34 overall, behind numerous movies that have already been in theaters for several weeks, according to the service. Reiner’s film lost to other movies that were played in a limited number of theaters, including “Eighth Grade,” which was shown in only four theaters but managed to gross $252,284, according to the site.
As an aside, I saw Ant-man and the Wasp Saturday. I liked it, but haven’t decided if I’ll write up a review or not. I do recommend seeing it. Shock and Awe? The best place for this movie is here:
The production budget for “Shock and Awe” is not publicly available, according to Box Office Mojo.
Considering the star power, I think it’s safe to say they didn’t make their money back. Frankly, I doubt they made enough to pay the set caterers. What I really hope is that the alleged “Stars” went for a piece of the gross instead of the normal paycheck.
The movie stars Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, James Marsden and Jessica Biel, in addition to Reiner himself. Reiner also co-produced and directed the film. “Shock and Awe” didn’t only disappoint at the box office, it was also mocked by critics and theatergoers. After one weekend in theater, Reiner’s film on received 36 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ famed Tomatometer.
Oh I hope, actually I don’t, that these well known moonbats were paid up front. If they did this to prove their Moonbat credentials and agreed to a percentage of the gross, they are screwed, blued and tattooed. Why? Here’s a few reasons.
“The filmmaking here is so pedestrian, flat-footed and overly-obvious as to leave ‘Shock and Awe’ one of those second-rate dramatic movies that make you wish that it had been a top-notch documentary instead,” RogerEbert.com critic Godfrey Cheshire wrote.

Washington Post film critic wrote a scathing review headlined, “Rob Reiner’s newspaper drama ‘Shock and Awe’ fails to live up to its name,” which mocks the story as “a lecture” that should have been a thriller.
The director [Reiner] tries to infuse ‘Shock and Awe’ with the taut procedural drama of ‘All the President’s Men,’ ‘Spotlight’ or ‘The Post.’ But he winds up demonstrating just how difficult it is to make shoe-leather journalism entertaining, much less artful,” Hornaday wrote.
There are a few reasons why “Shock and Awe” basically “Dulled and Bored” people. Unlike All the President’s Men and Spotlight, (Both of which I have seen), the Mostly Stupid Media decided they didn’t like the Iraq invasion and flat out lied about things. Were chemical weapons found? Yes, they were. Some of it was old stuff, some of it was new. Most of it was shipped to Syria just prior to the invasion where it’s now being used on the civilian population.
What was found were all the manufacturing tools and ingredients, along with artillery shells meant to be filled with chemical agents, (New manufacture), and a number of long range missiles. Guess what? Saddam Hussein wasn’t supposed to have any of those things. The MSM just ignored those pesky little facts. No, this movie was nothing more then Meathead Reiner’s latest shot at both Bush, (Who really was a jerk and a failure), and President Trump.
Earlier this year, Reiner attacked “GOP patriots” and called for an end to Trump’s presidency on the heels of the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Fla. The Hollywood writer and director tweeted, “How much longer do we have to put up with a mentally ill sociopath? When the f—ed up psyche of the leader of the free world comes before the horrific deaths of innocent children, it’s time for GOP patriots to stand up and end this sickness.”
Reiner earned the sobriquet “Meathead” when he played the character Mike Stivak on the 70’s show, All in the Family. He was dubbed “Meathead” by Carroll O’Conner’s character, Archie Bunker. Reiner’s character was a hard left liberal, what we call today a Barking Mad Moonbat, and Archie was basically a conservative with some issues.
They got into an argument with “Mike” spewing the usual leftist garbage so well known in the 60’s and 70’s and Archie called him a meathead. Here is the scene in question.
Little did anyone know, especially Rob Reiner, that being called a Meathead in that series would stick and, more importantly, be shown to be highly accurate. Reiner is a meathead and he just blew who knows how many millions on a movie that, bluntly, sucks. Of course, he is part of the Hollyweird Elite, so he can make all the crappy, politically correct propaganda films he wants, at least until the money runs out. Me? I prefer to be entertained, not suffer through a moonbat’s “I love me and you all suck” propaganda piece. I believe The Equalizer II is coming out later this week.
