Occluded-Cortex’s Green policies would hurt the poor

Good day all. She hasn’t even been sworn into office yet and Alexandria Occluded-Cortex is showing America how she really feels about “The poor.”

In this case, it’s her latest stupid idea of removing fossil fuels from the American economy. By this, I mean shut down all coal and natural gas fired power stations, ban the internal combustion engine, and power the nation with Unicorn Farts. Here are the details of her latest stupid idea from Fox News:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez promises that going green – removing all fossil fuels from our energy mix – will “establish economic, social and racial justice in the United States.”

In fact, her proposal would cripple our economy and hurt our poorest citizens.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has admirable passion, but needs some schooling in energy economics.

But didn’t she graduate at the top of her class in Socialist Economics or something?

The cost of renewable energy is dropping fast, but is still more expensive in many applications than traditional fossil fuels like coal or oil. That’s one reason that adoption of wind and solar power has been slow, and that many countries, including the United States, underwrite renewables with subsidies and tax credits. The International Energy Agency predicts in its 2018 report that “the share of renewables in meeting global energy demand is expected to grow by one-fifth in the next five years to reach 12.4% in 2023.”

Now for a dose of reality. The so called “Green Energy” that the progressives love to push has a few problems. Solar power requires huge amounts of land area, and this thing called “Sun light.” When clouds move across the sun, guess what? Those solar panels stop generating energy.

Wind power has it’s own set of issues. First, those turbines need a lot of maintenance and have a working life of 10-20 years. They can’t pay for themselves. They’re also great at making things like chopped eagles, and ground goose. In other words, birds fly into them and get killed. (And large bird strikes will cause damage to those blades) They also need wind to actually work. Not to much, and not to little.

People like Occluded-Cortex have no real interest in helping low income people. They may claim they do, but when actual facts are show to them indicating that their moronic ideas never work, they just say “Well the right people, such as myself, haven’t done it yet. We know what needs to be done!”

Evidence of the staggering costs imposed by green policies is provided by other IEA data, which compares electricity costs in different countries. In the United States, the cost of electricity for households earlier this year was $129 per megawatt. In Germany, a country that leapt into renewables with enthusiasm, and imposed hefty taxes to squelch demand for fossil fuels, the cost is $343.59. Does Ms. Ocasio-Cortez really want to impose a near-tripling of electricity costs on Americans?

In a word, yes. Not only that, she wants to jack taxes up across the board on everyone. (Except for the “Special people” such as herself)

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez might want to visit France, a sympathetic left-leaning country, which is currently convulsed by people who are really, really angry over recently-enacted green policies of the kind that she might embrace. President Emmanuel Macron raised taxes on diesel fuel and gasoline, hoping to make driving more expensive and thereby discourage fossil fuel use, setting off the worst rioting that country has seen in a generation.

Oh, her plans are even worse than that idiot Macron’s. He is counting his blessings that the French people don’t have any guns, (Other then the Islamic terrorists of course). However, they are starting to build Guillotines and testing them on effigies made in his likeness. Over here, we do have guns and if pushed to far by the likes of Occluded-Cortex, Well, let’s try and not go there, okay?

The lesson for Macron, for Ms. Ocasio-Cortez and other policy makers is that people may be concerned about global warming and increasing emissions, but they are considerably more worried about making ends meet.

Actually, most people aren’t concerned with Global Warming, primarily due to constantly digging out from massive snow storms in very cold weather.

Polling on the subject bears this out. While a global Pew study found that 54 percent of people in 40 countries thought that climate change was a “very serious problem,” a survey conducted by the UN at about the same time, which elicited almost 7 million responses, showed people ranking climate change the least of their concerns. Global warming came in dead last behind better education, better health care, better job opportunities and thirteen other issues.

It came in dead last because people are also beginning to understand, despite the propaganda put out by the CommuNazi Ministry of Information, aka CNN, that the whole Global Warming/Climate Change thing was nothing more than a hoax ginned up by Al Gore and others for their own personal profit.

It is also true that some of the wilder predictions of disaster have failed to materialize, leading to profound skepticism. Al Gore’s doomed polar bears, for instance, seem to actually be thriving.

According to one source, their numbers are increasing except in one location, where in fact they are challenged by too much sea ice, as opposed to too little.

Another thing that Occluded-Cortex isn’t considering is that the United States, while not signing on to all these Global Warming treaties, is actually leading the pack in lowering emissions.

Because of abundant natural gas displacing coal, the United States is the only major country in which emissions have been dropping over the past decade. We are not the problem. It is China, whose carbon output is already nearly twice that of the U.S. A recent report from the Global Carbon Project blames a predicted rise in worldwide emissions this year on “a rise in coal consumption in China, which accounts for more than 46% of the projected increase in industrial CO2 emissions in 2018.”

The U.S. is blessed with abundant energy, an important competitive advantage. The Trump White House pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord because the demands of that agreement would have destroyed that advantage and hobbled our growth, while demanding virtually no commitments from China.

We are now producing so much oil and gas that we’re now exporting it for the first time in 70 years. Part of this is due to new technologies that are allowing the recovery of gas and oil what was once thought to be uneconomical locations. The second was President Trump unleashing the energy companies. With the dead hand of government removed, oil and gas companies are investing in new fields and new tools big time.

As for the phony CO2 emissions business? Perhaps Ms. Alexandria Occluded-Cortex should talk to scientists who study what the environment was like millions of years ago. An interesting note. It seems that CO2 levels were much higher and O2, (Oxygen), levels half what we now have during the time of the dinosaurs. They thrived in the type of environment that Occluded-Cortex and the other religious fanatics of the Church of Global Warming/Climate Change are so terrified of. Maybe they think the velociraptors might come back and eat them. No, what these people like Occluded-Cortex want is to rule over the “lesser people.” Sorry Alexandria, that isn’t going to happen.
