Good day all. Last night, the United States Federal Government shut down. The usual suspects un the Deep State Beltway Uniparty promptly began screaming out “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It!!
For the rest of America, it was last minute shopping for Christmas presents. Good day all, President Trump, after a false start, made good on his threat to shut down the government if he didn’t get the money to build the wall along the Southern Border. Now the blame game has begun. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
The federal government partially shut down on midnight Saturday after lawmakers were unable to reach agreement on a spending deal to keep the government open — and a race to assign blame began.
The partial shutdown began at midnight a few hours after House and Senate adjourned. It was expected to last at least a few days, with sources on both sides of the aisle telling Fox News that Washington could be in for a prolonged shutdown.
The White House, however, was projecting confidence that they could secure a deal.
Oh I hope not! Frankly, I want the shutdown to continue for months and months. Granted, this could affect me personally. The former Mrs. Webmaster and current significant other is waiting for her replacement green card. Hers was due to expire next week, but has been extended until April due to the bureaucracy taking it’s damn sweet time. I also know of others who will be laid off. Only those deemed critical will be working.
About one-quarter of the government will be affected in a shutdown. Nine of the 15 Cabinet-level departments are to shutter, along with dozens of agencies. Those departments are: Agriculture, Commerce, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, State, Transportation and Treasury.
Homeland Security is one of those deemed critical and 90% of the employees will be working, allegedly without pay. However, once the meatheads in Congress remove their thumbs and vote to fund the Wall, they will get back pay for the time they worked.
Roughly 420,000 workers will be deemed essential and will work unpaid, while more than 380,000 people will be furloughed in the shutdown – meaning they will experience a temporary leave from their work.
So, 380K federal employees are not essential? Good to know. How about they go find real jobs in the “Dreaded Private Sector?” Another group that is critical is the Military. They are definitely critical. I’m not sure, but their pay may already have been budgeted and will continue. I’m sure if I’m mistaken, someone will comment on that. However, there is another group that’s been deemed “Not essential” that will make everyone happy.
Additionally, about 52,000 IRS workers would be furloughed.
However, the post office is going to remain open and it’s workers will be paid? Why? They are an independent entity and they actually sell products and services. (Delivering the mail) I understand that the FAA, while a government agency, also makes a profit, however, they are not like the post office, so they will also have to wait for their paychecks.
This all could have been avoided if Paul Ryno and Mitch McCockLess had actually done their jobs and funded the wall a year ago. Blame for this can be laid right at the feet of retiring Paul Ryan. He has always been an open borders RINO and Deep State GOP(e) Uniparty member.
As for the Democrats CommuNazis, they are now officially on record as putting foreigners over American citizens, and not just any foreigners, the CommuNazis like Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer are trying to protect those who can’t be bothered to lawfully enter the United States.
One thing about the shutdown is the timing. Many people are basically gone until after the first of the year and a fair number of the now closed agencies would be short staffed as it is. No one is really going to notice anything. The only people panicking are the CommuNazis, their propagandists in what was once known as the Main Stream Media, and the big government establishment Republicans. The rest of America? They think it’s a great idea.
If this isn’t sorted out by the time the CommuNazis take control of the house next year, and considering that President Trump is fully prepared to own this, it might be a while before the government reopens. The next big thing will be the normal increase to the debt ceiling. The RINO’s, rather then deal with that when they had the chance, kicked the can down the road. That will be even more fun to watch.
