Good day all. One of the things the Obama Regime is most noted for was the massive increase in gun sales. Obama became known as the best sales rep for gun manufacturers in history. The reason, of course, was Obama’s desire to confiscate all privately held firearms and the suppression of the 2nd Amendment.
To that end, he came up with a plan to starve firearms manufacturers and dealers of financial resources and banking services. This became known as “Operation Chokepoint.” It wasn’t just firearms that Obama and his thugs went after, it was any group or company that they deemed “Politically incorrect.” For years the Obama DoJ and Treasury Department denied the existence of the program. As usual, they were lying. Here are the details from The Washington Examiner:
James Madison once wrote that “the rights of persons, and the rights of property, are the objects, for the protection of which government was instituted.” While in recent years our political leaders have not always lived up to Madison’s vision of government, rarely have they engaged in such blatant disregard for our constitutional rights as they did during Operation Choke Point — a secret program launched under the Obama administration to punish political adversaries.
Operation Choke Point was a plot by President Obama’s Department of Justice, the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other government agencies to cut off banking and financial services for small businesses and industries that they deemed to be political enemies or otherwise undesirable.
Some of these businesses included gun stores, ammunition shops, fireworks stores, small dollar lenders, and home-based charities.
This was all part of Obama’s plans to gut everything that makes America unique in the world. Tie this in with how the Obama IRS abused it’s authority by denying tax exempt status to the TEA party and other like minded organizations, and you have a tyranny, not a Republic.
Some government officials tried to deny the existence of the program. That includes former CFPB director, Richard Cordray, who dodged questions from Sen. Mike Crapo in 2014 as to the CFPB’s participation in Operation Choke Point. Yet in that same year, Cordray warned banks against doing business with “… unscrupulous lenders and their payment processors.”
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was set up as a way for the Progressives to shut down anything that posed as a threat to them by cutting off their funding. The CFPB was designed to be totally unaccountable and outside the control and oversight of Congress.
Cordray was not alone in trying to hide the truth about this operation. Officials from the DOJ and FDIC all worked to keep the program’s existence from the public and to bury the truth. Finally, however, the truth is now being unmasked.
Yep, this would have all been buried long ago if only Felonia von Pantsuit had won the election. Instead, Donald Trump won and he’s putting in place people who support the Rule of Law and the Constitution of the United States. Now all the dirty little, and not so little secrets are coming out.
Government documents were just unsealed providing evidence of just how far reaching and destructive Operation Choke Point really was to small businesses.
In this specific case, the documents show how the FDIC engaged in a targeted campaign against lawful and legally operating businesses, cutting them off from banking services without due process or other legal recourse. While most thought the program began around 2013 — at least that was when evidence of the program first began to surface — a senior official with the FDIC was pushing regulators to cut off banking for lawful small dollar lenders at least three years before that. The official told regulators: “… if a bank was found to be involved in payday lending, someone was going to be fired.” Brought to light by the unsealed documents, additional instruction was given to regulators that “if an institution in their region was facilitating payday lending, the regional director should require the institution to submit a plan for exiting the business.”
Personally, I don’t care for “Payday loans. These are very short term, high interest loans used by people to cover their expenses until their next paycheck. They came into being as a way to avoid dealing with a loanshark. For those of you who don’t know, a loanshark is someone who loans out money at rates almost guaranteed to keep people in debt. If you missed a payment, the loanshark would probably break your legs. What is interesting is when this started. 2010, about when Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats regained control of the House, and with the Senate proceeded to run the economy right into the ground.
The actions by the FDIC and others took on a true Orwellian 1984 nature. If banks didn’t comply, they threatened the bank managers. They even forced them to “Take ownership” of the decision to cut off perfectly legal businesses.
In another incident, available now through the deposition of a bank chairman, said the chairman was threatened with criminal referral to the Department of Justice if a business relationship with a small dollar lender was not ended. Equally disturbing is that once a bank cut off services to a business, regulators pressured the bank to claim the action as their own, effectively covering up the government’s involvement.
With this new evidence, it has become even more clear how invested the Obama administration was in Operation Choke Point. If an industry stood against their political agenda, it was only a matter of bringing the full force of the administrative and regulatory state against that industry as a means of coercion and punishment. Operation Choke Point was “Chicago-style politics” brought to Washington, D.C.
This is exactly why the 2nd Amendment was written. Every day, new information comes out on just how evil Barack Obama and his administration truly was. If Felonia von Pantsuit has managed to win instead of Donald Trump, not only would this have been continued, it would have ramped up massively. There is very little doubt in my mind that the United States would have flat out exploded in a full blown civil war by now.
It is my opinion that one of the reasons that The Obama Regime started the spying on Donald Trump was the fear of what would happen if he won and started exposing Obama’s illicit activities. That fear is well placed, and you can see just how terrified the Democrats have become now that Robert Mueller and his Gestapo wannabes failed to get President Trump. President Trump is beginning to go after them and the others in the Deep State.
