San Francisco bans the words “Convicted Felon”

Good day all. San Francisco was once a true jewel in America. People loved to live there. The the Progressives came in and now the city is buried in shit. Literally buried in it. Instead of working to fix the problems they’ve caused, The San Francisco Board of supervisors have decided to work on something they consider fare more important. Pushing forward with Newspeak.

For those of you who haven’t actually read the classics, Newspeak was a creation of George Orwell in his novel, 1984. It was used by the totalitarian government to control how people communicated or thought. It seems that once again, the Progressives are seeing that novel as a training manual instead of the warning it was meant to be. In this case, the San Francisco board of Supervisors have decided that using the term, “Convicted Felon” is bad, and instead a new phrase shall be used. From now on, convicted criminals will be known as “Justice-involved persons.” Here are the details from Fox News:

Crime-ridden San Francisco has introduced new sanitized language for criminals, getting rid of words such as “offender” and “addict” while changing “convicted felon” to “justice-involved person.”

It’s so much easier to “Sanitize” the language then to clean up the crap covered streets.

The Board of Supervisors adopted the changes last month even as the city reels from one of the highest crime rates in the country and staggering inequality exemplified by pervasive homelessness alongside Silicon Valley wealth. The local officials say the new language will help change people’s views about those who commit crimes.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, from now on a convicted felon or an offender released from custody will be known as a “formerly incarcerated person,” or a “justice-involved” person or just a “returning resident.”

A juvenile “delinquent” will now be called a “young person with justice system involvement,” or a “young person impacted by the juvenile justice system.”

And drug addicts or substance abusers, meanwhile, will become “a person with a history of substance use.”

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the original terms, Convicted felon or criminal, Juvenile Delinquent or “Damn Punk,” and for drug users, “Junkie.” Now what is the reason for these changes boils down to one word. “Feelz.”

We don’t want people to be forever labeled for the worst things that they have done,” Supervisor Matt Haney told the newspaper. “We want them ultimately to become contributing citizens, and referring to them as felons is like a scarlet letter that they can never get away from.”

Now I don’t have a problem with felons, once they have paid their debt to society, getting a fresh start. Junkies who clean up and stay straight are generally applauded as it is. For the juvies, they usually get their records sealed, and it’s intentionally hard to get access to them. (Lots of dumb kids do really dumb things) of course, for those punks who go for the major crimes stuff, they’re usually a lost cause by the time they turn 18.

The sanitized language, though unlikely to do much to address the crime problem, may result in some convoluted descriptions of crimes in the future.

The newspaper noted an individual whose car has been broken into could well be known to police as “a person who has come in contact with a returning resident who was involved with the justice system and who is currently under supervision with a history of substance use.”

I think this translates into a victim who’s car was stolen by some damn junkie on parole. Of course, I don’t really speak idiot so I may be wrong.

The board’s approved new language is non-binding, with the district attorney endorsing the measure. Mayor London Breed hasn’t yet endorsed the new language.

Is this the DA who will punish citizens for having the nerve to defend themselves from an “Undocumented immigrant” but protects said “Undocumented Immigrant,” what we call an Illegal alien” from ICE and actual prosecution from crimes like rape, robbery and murder?

Kalifornistan in general and San Francisco in particular are dead. They are failed cities/State. Eventually, someone is going to have to make the decision, pull the switch and declare martial law and remove the entire government of Kalifornistan at all levels. That or “Grant them independence” and kick them the hell out of the Union.
