Normally I would start with “Good day all” but not today. I am truly angry that a forum I have been on for at least 10 years was forced offline, hopefully temporarily, because of a loudmouthed whiny hard left anti-free speech progressive two legged turd. I speak of Baen Publishing’s in house forum, Baen’s Bar.
At about 12pm Eastern Standard Time,February 16th, the management of Baen Publishing took The Bar offline while they reviewed what that walking diaper stain accused the Bar Flies of posting, which was that they were calling for the violent overthrow of the Fake President, among other things. This is a bald face untruth.
Baen’s Bar is a forum for authors and their fans. There are a number of sub-forums including one for politics. That forum can get pretty hot and heavy and isn’t for the faint of heart or the weak of bladder. There are people from all sides of the political spectrum, from ultra-conservative to flaming moonbat leftists, socialists and communists. (Is there a difference?)
There are also a large number of former military personnel on The Bar including a couple of authors. (Tom Kratman, John Ringo and Michael Z. Williamson are a few that I know of and have conversed with) There are also a number of members who come from lands far from the hallowed shores of the Untied States of America. Places such as Ireland, Germany, Australia and India. All are welcomed, and encouraged to share their views on pretty much everything.
As you might have guessed, I do spend time on The Bar, much of it in the politics forum, although I also go to a number of author forums as well. The recent election and the serious questions regarding the validity are, of course, a hot topic in Politics. Also the recent incident on January 6th has also been a major topic of discussion, with people who live for digging out nuggets of information that the Media can’t be bothered to do.
As for the accuser, some nobody by the name of Jason Sanford, he apparently signed up for access to the bar, visited a couple of forums and promptly wet his pants. He then posted a screed on Patreon claiming that Baen’s Bar is being used to advocate violence. I read through it, as did many of the Barflies and we were just starting to discuss it when news came down from on high that because of the progressive wimp’s complaints to Baen’s hosting company, the publisher, The fair and magnificent Toni Wiesskopf was taking the Bar off line.
Ms. Wiesskopf has posted a message on the entry page of Baen’s Bar explaining what and why the Bar is offline. Through other web sites and blogs, notably highly successful Author Larry Corriea’s Monster Hunter Nation, as well as various social and socialist media sites, (Mewe being central since they don’t censor people as long as the law isn’t being broken, unlike Faceplant and Twitler), additional information has come out.
It seems that as soon as the effeminate Sanfool Sanford changed into a fresh pair of Pampers, he ran off to tattle to the hosting company that Baen’s Bar was a hotbed of racism, white supremacists, (Which amused a large number of Barflies who aren’t Caucasian), and violent militants bent on destroying the government and cleaning out the ever so wonderful Progressives, Liberals and the rest of the “Caring” elites.
One of the accusations this clown made was in regards to a poster from India who is nicknamed “The Swarthy Menace.” Shit for Brains Sanford promptly used that as one of his “Pieces of evidence” in his libelous screed against Baen Publishing and the hundreds of “denizens” of The Bar. To my knowledge, he didn’t bother to try and contact the gentleman in question about the nickname.
I happen to know this man. Oh we haven’t met physically. He is Indian and lives in India. We have chatted on The Bar a time or two and to put it bluntly, He’s more American then Sleazeford. He refers to himself by the nickname, and I believe he has referred to his lovely wife as Mrs. Swarthy Menace. (I may be mistaken here, and if so I do apologize to his intelligent and beautiful bride)
As I recall, and this was some time ago, he earned the nickname when he was ripping some Progressive Racist moron a new one in one of the Forums. Someone referred to him as a menace to liberals and from there the Swarthy menace was born. Not one person on The Bar would ever refer to him by a racist term, unless they were Progressive Liberals, who think that people like Mr. “Menace” are incapable of succeeding without the “Help” of the “Great White Liberal Elite.”
Good old Arun has been taking a number of courses and has been gaining a number of IT certifications. There are many on The Bar, including myself, who would jump at the chance to bring him the USA as a legal resident Alien. Tell me again how the people on Baen’s Bar are racists when they want to bring someone into the country legally?
When the Barflies found out about the load of crap Slimeford had posted, there was a rush to see what the fuss was about. I can tell you, a lot of people wanted to post their response to this jerk, but Patreon requires you to “Pay to Play” if you want to post comments. Most people, on reflection, thought that not posting on his page was probably a good idea since there is little doubt that Shit for Brains would load up his pants again when Barflies came in and started throwing around all those horrible “Facts” and “Citations” showing him to be a scummy little puke.
As for Toni Weisskopf and Baen Management, I understand that they have to take care of their business first. Thanks to Big Tech and how Amazon Web Services nearly killed Parler, they need to make sure that they won’t be blown offline by the tyrannical totalitarians of Big Tech. (For the record, I do not know who hosts Baen’s web sites) I hope that Ms. Weisskopf can clear up this matter in short order and bring The Bar back online as soon as possible.
As for Jason Sanford and the rest of the Progressive Liberal Totalitarian, anti-Free Speech scum, you might want to consider that your actions are going to make things a lot worse, not better. There was a lot of discussion on The Bar in several forums over the actions of Antifa and the Black Communist Lives Only Matter thugs and terrorists and what they’ve been doing the last year or so.
The discussions were about how to deal with these terrorists if they came into the neighborhoods of the Barflies and started they usual looting, rampaging and burning. Since a fair number of these people are former military, with many combat veterans, the discussions were quite lively with technical details on building defensive zones and how to short circuit the riots, both with non-lethal and frankly very lethal means. None of them ever said they were going to arm up and go out looking for these thugs. They only said they would be ready if they came into town and started something.
This isn’t to say that sometimes people don’t go over the top in the heat of the moment, they do. One person, thanks to the games played by Nancy Pelosi, is basically homeless. When we found out that Pelosi was intentionally delaying President Trump’s plans to assist people like this gentleman, he, frankly, lost it. He never made any threats towards the Speaker of the House, but he was hoping that she would drink herself to death.
When people do get a bit heated, Baen has several volunteer moderators who will come in and either talk with the person in question, (Privately through the internal messaging system), or if needed, bounce them from The Bar for a period of time to cool off. Some people didn’t get the message and were permanently banned. (There are only three or four that I can recall)
These are the exactly wrong sort of people you want to push over the edge. Many are former long service military from all branches of the service, with at least one that I know of who dealt with nuclear weapons. Many were infantry, and when it comes to mayhem, they have PhD’s in it, courtesy of the United States government. They also know just how bad things would be if the “Boogaloo” ever kicked off. None of them want to see this happen, and apart from discussing scenarios, none, no matter what Dickless Sanfart thinks, have any intention of starting a shooting civil war.
I don’t know what legal recourse Ms. Weisskopf or the Baen Publishing management has in regards to Jason Sanford’s potentially libelous accusations, but I hope they find something they can hang this guy with, so to speak, in a court of law. I’m also wondering if there is some lawful action that can be taken against Patreon? Not to shut them down, but to get them to bounce Jason Sanford from their platform. I’ll leave that to others.
